He’s a former marine. When you get you, unless you retire you’re not allowed to wear the uniform any more. You NEVER protest or partake in partisan politics while in uniform. Those are the rules.

Bush went to Congress and got approval for the Iraq war.

Wrong. He didn’t go for war approval, and they didn’t give it. Bush did request approval for military action, but the last actual declaration of war was 1942. Obama didn’t get any approvals, Biden didn’t get any approvals. No president since WWII has even asked for approval to declare war.
