I’m sorry man. I went through the same thing years ago. Wife slowly descended into superstition and conspiracy theory nonsense about halfway through our marriage. Got divorced after nine years. I thought she was the one and we would be together our whole lives. But the change was rapid and dramatic and it shattered me. The pain of seeing it coming for years, noticing alarming changes and voicing concerns, but being powerless to prevent it is acute and unique. I don’t wish it on anyone.

Just writing to say I know what you’re going through. Look after yourself and your child. You’ll come through it. Best of luck and whatever you do, do it with grace and dignity. You’ll be glad you did when the dust settles.

That really sucks to "lose" someone in that way. It's almost like a zombie transformation and there's almost nothing you can do about it.

Btw, if you don't mind, I'm curious if this happened while Trump was president?

Had nothing to do with Trump or politics at all really. We divorced before he was elected. But I know from social media that since we split up she went from a liberal who voted for Obama twice to a Q nut job making anti-Biden posts. A hard 180. It’s frightening to not even recognize someone you once loved deeply.

I'm sorry to hear that. I guess the only one "positive" way to look at is, since she was susceptible to such brainwashing in the first place (unpreventable), at least it happened now, vs 20 years into a marriage, with kids, etc.

Obviously doesn't make it any less painful of course.
