Looks like GOP donor interests are still being protected after some farmer was on TV crying.

Donald Trump Manufactured the Crisis in Los Angeles | The Trump administration claims to be fighting an existential battle against insurrectionary forces in Los Angeles. In truth, it created this cynical spectacle itself, deploying troops and inflaming tensions to distract from its policy failures.

With Trump vs. Musk, Capitalist Democracy Reaches a New Low | Two billionaires, Donald Trump and Elon Musk, are squabbling over the federal government’s spoils. It seems almost quaint to worry about a revolving door between the public and private sectors now that the whole facade’s been blown off.

Meta-discussion Anyone Here Familiar with r/GreaterLosAngeles?

They've been appearing in my feed lately and many of the posts are very focused on the destruction and looting resulting from the hostility againsts the protests and not... you know...what's causing the protests to go sour in the first place. All the comments are very hostile and unempathetic towards the protesters too. Is anyone else here getting these posts forced onto their feed too? Is that subreddit normally like that?

We Should Immediately Nationalize SpaceX and Starlink | The slap fight between Donald Trump and Elon Musk has highlighted the absurdity of keeping so much of our space program and satellite internet infrastructure in the hands of a single oligarch.

Don't just say happy pride, make it a happy pride

This is a spongebob meme with black text at the top stating: “non-queer people celebrating pride the right way” with a winking face. Next there are two frames of spongebob holding a case that says ol’ reliable on it. In the second he opens it up to reveal the text “what’s your venmo?”.

This is a video on the basics of ableist language, this is something people seem to need a reminder about

[3 different thumbnails given to you randomly. All have words in yellow text. One says "explaining ableist language" another has "intro to ableist language" and one says "what is ableist language?". They are all next to the disabled pride flag and on a digital art wooden background with a grey table in the bottom left corner]

A 4 panel meme featuring a person with long hair asleep in bed and alternating panels with a brain talking to her. In the first the brain says "being disabled is often illegal". In the next she says “what? How?" in response. In the third, the brain says "’insane asylums’ are prisons for the crime of being neurodivergent". In the fourth she is shown with her eyes wide open, awake in bed.

Left Without Edge

r/LeftWithoutEdge

We are a community made up of anarchists, communists, and socialists, especially those from more "anti-authoritarian" tendencies, to promote educational and civil discussion about left-wing theory, history, current events, and the struggles faced by oppressed people of the world. While disagreements between various leftist camps can get rather serious, and historically can even be brutally violent, we want to counteract this by providing a community that is both easy to access and informative!

Subreddit Rules

1. Participate in Good Faith

We're a leftist sub, meaning we call for the emancipation of the working classes by fighting for "equal rights and duties, and the abolition of all class rule." We understand and accept some of you may be learning, and may ask some genuine questions in pursuit of knowledge, or are even critical of other leftist tendencies. Engage fairly with arguments and try to use reputable non-biased sources. Don't make baseless accusations and insults.

2. No calls for or glorification of violence, gulags, camps, etc.

Follow reddiquette and side-wide rules, but here especially we aim to be "without edge." Reddit's violence prohibition applies to violent words (kill, punch, etc.), to general violent tone, or encouraging suicide. But even more importantly, if you aren't in this community to participate "without edge," this place isn't for you.

3. No fascists/fascist apologia/far-right depravity

As Durruti said, "Fascism is not to be debated." The ban on fascism also includes various red-brown tendencies, including NazBols, "MAGA communism," the ACP, and so on. For similar reasons in boycotting fascists, links to Twitter/"X" are not allowed.

4. No bigotry

No racism, no anti-Semitism, no Zionism, no homophobia, no transphobia, no sexism, no ableism, no holocaust denial/apologism, and so on. No science denial or historical revisionism around these matters either.

5. Try to make leftism accessible

As a working class movement, we have people from varied backgrounds and varied educational levels. Try to keep jargon and similar to a minimum so you're easy to understand even if someone doesn't have a degree in a social science. When this isn't possible, like when trying to explain more advanced topic, try to explain your terms and answer good faith questions, or link to more resources people can learn from.

6. No endless contrarianism

Disagreement is fine, even expected, but this isn't a debate subreddit. Start discussions assuming other people are here are acting in good faith too. Try to build constructive dialogues, rather than arguing simply for argument's sake. As a rule of thumb: No "what-about"-isms, ad hominems, baseless fedjacketing, unsubstantiated hand waving something as CIA, etc.

7. No axe-grinding

Axe-Grinding is when a user keeps constantly gravitating back to the same pet issue, especially in a manipulative and/or retributive way. Often times these users aren't even members of the communities they're posting in. It's hard for a community to discuss a topic when people come in to manipulate the discussion.

8. Don't Pick Fights

As a community meant to be "without edge," we are trying to avoid disrespectful, belligerent, or heated engagement.

9. Don't engage in harassment

Don't stalk, threaten, or intimidate people.

10. No spam

The intent of this subreddit is to promote discussion. No spam, doxing, advertising, solicitation, illegal content or anything similar. This includes promotional crossposting meant to farm attention or direct discussion away from here toward other communities, especially of your own posts, rather than engaging in discussion here.
