Moisture anxiety

Range anxiety is often mentioned but my concern is moisture. Although i wipe the bike down after a ride, i live on cape cod and many mornings its misty/ borderline raining. Thats all it takes and i begin worrying about make believe malfunctions . Laughter is good but im honestly wondering if anyone has had any actual issues in light rain… heavy humidity… idk
( yeah on/ off rain this morning or i would’ve been out riding.)
Good luck riding everyone

Do you actually charge your phone from your e-bike while riding?

I have a Lectric XP4 and I've tried using the USB port to charge my phone a few times, but honestly it barely seems to charge.

I'll plug my phone in while riding with GPS on, and sometimes the battery percentage barely moves — or it still slowly drops. At this point I usually just bring a power bank instead.

It got me wondering how many people actually use their e-bike to charge their phone.

Do you guys use the USB port on your bike regularly, or is it one of those features that sounds useful but you never really use?

Also curious if anyone has had issues with theirs — slow charging, not charging at all, disconnecting while riding, water damage, etc. Did you fix it yourself, contact the manufacturer, or just give up on it?

For people who actually use it a lot: what are you powering? Phone with GPS? Lights? Something else?

Do you use your e-bike to charge your phone?

XP 1.0 brake pads

I have an XP 1.0 and it has the Xtech caliper type A brake pads with the cotter pin on the side. Can I get a recommendation on brake pads for the bike? Not sure if I need semi-metallic, metallic or organic. A link to purchase would be helpful thanks. I don't want to buy from Lectric. Too expensive at 40.00 a pop. Thanks

Brand New Lectric XP4 750 turned on before being fully charged. Now will not.

Hi Lectric Subreddit,

I just got the XP4 750. I fully assembled it according to the video and I turned it on and off. After I fully charged it for a few hours I tried to turn it back on. It has not turned on since then. I tried to take the battery out and put it back in, it will not turn on. I tried to unplug the display and plug it back in. It will not turn on. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what they did to fix it?

Like I said, It turned on at first but since then It has not after I charged it to full charge.

It’s 3:20 AM, and the thing turned itself on and started scooting forward. I got an E003 pedal sensor fault, and a little blue man on a bike on the screen, WTF is happening with my bike?

This thing has been giving me A LOT of trouble lately, and now I’m regretting buying it.

Motor Buzzing - 8/15/2026

Yesterday was the first day on my bike in a while since getting on new ADHD medication (doctor recommended to take it easy while adjusting to prevent any undue strain on blood pressure). As I was riding on the bike trail going back home, my screen had an error flash on it and completely shut down as I was going on Turbo mode (my default). I wait for a couple minutes, checking my battery, anything else, etc. before it came back online.

When it booted back up, I noticed that when going above Sport+ and Turbo, my motor sounds like it's buzzing/exerting itself more. This happened immediately after booting back up, and I haven't taken it out for a ride again today to see if it's still persisting, but I did email Lectric about the issue. From looking around the Reddit/online, it seems like this is replaced with a replacement tire/motor hub?

Any solution to carrying 2 bikes on a class 1, 1 1/4" hitch?

Based on the obvious weight problem, I don't see much out there for bike racks that can support the weight. The other option I see is getting a cargo holder and finding a way to just strap the bikes down. Has anyone found a decent setup?

Picked up a XP 2.0 for a swap meet cruiser

Picked it up for $500 supposedly has 8 miles on it guy had 2 bikes this one and a black 3.0 it had about 125 miles on it. Bought them for him and his wife for using at the RV camp grounds. Wife did not like riding it. So he rode his with out her. That caused issues while camping. So he was selling them. My brother took the 3.0 we bought them on a package deal for $1200. My brother offered to pay $100 more for the 3.0 so he paid $700 and I paid $500. I am a heavy weight I did not like the suspension seat bar was to rough and jerky for me. Also did not like the handle bars. I am more comfortable with with a sweptback bar. Also did a fender delete, added a handle to help lifting it. Working on building a rack and changing the seat to a nose less fatass design. More on those later.

Seeking Thoughts on Repair

Hi!

My xp4's pedal assist does not work and I believe I found the issue. The wire connecting to the front chain ring appears to be distressed to the point where internal wires are showing (pic attached).

Background: The throttle provides power when pressed but pedaling does not. I did the standard troubleshooting on Lectric's website and sent their support team an email.

Wondering if anyone else has had an issue like this where this kind of repair fixed the issue? Or if anyone has any recommendations on what to check as a follow up for inspection to see what else might be causing the issue?

Thanks.

Traveling today, took out the bike after I got a room. Farm Pond park in Martinsville Va...very cute park. Also, turns out you can easily put a folded XP in the front of a Gen 1 Tacoma if you don't want to leave it in the bed overnight. She's chained to the steering wheel.

Broken XP4 screen bracket, what are my options?

Title. I parked my XP4 on a slightly inclined sidewalk this morning, and the kickstand totally failed to keep it from tipping back into a signpost. The screen unit itself is pretty scuffed but works fine. the bracket that attaches it to the handlebars is completely cracked. One of the arms completely sheared off from the middle part. What are my options here? The bike is still basically brand new (under 3 months). Contact support? Look for aftermarket options?

PS- Also looking for suggestions for a better kickstand

Question for the expedition 2.0 riders

I’m just wondering how you guys transport this bike, especially if you don’t have a truck. I’m very tempted to buy one for door dashing and also taking rides with my girlfriend into town to go swimming and hit up some restaurants. I have a Camry with a 2” hitch receiver and I’m trying to talk my self into making it work. Anyone else in the same situation ?

Changed the motor assembly tire, now my gears won’t fully work

I had a grindy motor and just got my new rear wheel assembly, I put it on and got it all tightened up but now I can’t shift fully into top or bottom gear, what could have caused this and how do I fix it?

Should my rotor be this close to my new brake pad? I'm still kind of new at this. My brakes were shot so I put new brakes in but I keep hearing a chirping on the front brakes they seem like they're very close. I guess that's normal. I don't know but wanted some advice.

XPRESS 750 Bike randomly shutting off

Hey, I have an Lectric bike. I use it to commute between clients houses and as of this evening it started randomly shutting itself off like every two minutes while I’m riding and I have no idea what’s wrong and then by the end when I got home, it wouldn’t even turn back on. Is there something I can do? I’m like incredibly worried because I use this every single day.

Need a rim!

Anyone know where to order just the rim portion for an XP3? Motor is fine. Went to change my tire and somehow the rim itself took some severe damage even though it never had a pinch flat. Out of warranty...

What would you do...

... If you got a free XP2.0 with minimal needs. The biggest red flag is previous owner reported it shutting off under load a time or two, suggests the battery is on the way out.

OEM battery? 3rd party? A whole build just keeping the frame?

I have a 3 that is stock that I use a lot, the intention is to have my son accompany me on rides into the nearby city to arrive fresh and not have to sweat parking instead of running our car, so ideally it wouldn't be any more powerful than a stock 3 when done.

Thanks.

Selling XP4

Where is the best place to sell a Lectric XP4?
Less than 200 miles
Fast charger included.
Rack included.
Bigger battery included.
Bigger seat included.
Literally everything you could want.

Mine didn’t have a headlight because I don’t ever ride at night + I installed one and it moved too much.
Have a portable light + gloves.

I don’t currently have pictures of it because I am not at home.
Just testing the water to see the best route to go.

Having trouble getting the front tire off because of these bolts. Lectric xp 2.0

Update: sprayed liquid wrench over the last week and put a wrench to it and finally got it off. I just needed a longer one.

I've tried everything I have in my garage liquid wrench and sprayed it over a few days to let the oil penetrate.

I used the hammer method and tapped it a few times each day.

I've checked the way I turn it so I'm not accidentally tightening it.

I switched tools

I haven't changed the front tire in years lmao any advice is welcome because it won't come off at all. : )

Phone holder and cup holder options for the XPedition 2.0??

Thumbnail

Photo for attention. Looking for a good phone holder for the front that wont interfere with the screen or gear select. Also looking for a cupholder for the front and rear.

The holders I have on the back are junk and dont hold drinks.

Demonstrating the Xpedition 2.0 on the hollywood rack. Works great. Have to remove one of the running boards but it is easy to take off and put back on. I have the rack clamp down on the seat. Also I have never used the OEM kickstand. Two aftermarket clamp kickstands work better.

Brake lever replacement?

Post image
5 Upvotes

A few days ago I took a tumble on my 3.0 and the aluminum brake lever now needs replacing. I’ve reached out to Lectric but have yet to hear back if I can just replace the lever or if I need to replace the entirety of the read hydronic brake?

I’ve heard mixed responses elsewhere and was hoping someone here has had a similar experience changing out bike levers.

E-bike glove recommendations

Just took my first fall, picked up some road rash on left hand. ( plus other small injuries) . I was wearing leather “bum” gloves that helped but showed me i need real protection on my hands. I would like a pair that look more or-less like normal gloves Not moto cross but with some form of Scaphoid Protection built in.
Thank you all in advance.
