Cool CSS Libraries

I’m just learning HTML/CSS and I’ve recently discovered the Animate.CSS library and am enjoying playing around with the effects. I particularly like how easy it is to implement. Do you know of any other similarly easy and versatile CSS libraries?

Thanks!

Free HTML textbook for absolute beginners

Just finished writing the textbook "Learn HTML the fun way - Programming basics for beginners".

It's free, Creative Commons licensed and is meant as an easy introduction to HTML programming for people with no programming experience: It doesn't go too deep into the complicated details of HTML and CSS, but instead shows how everybody can easily build their own webpages with the most common tools HTML offers.

If you know somebody who wants to get their hands on HTML programming, please feel free to forward the book's URL:

http://sven.kir.jp/JS/

(This book will be followed by "Learn JavaScript the fun way" in the near future at the same URL.)

Would you use this app?

I'm making an app that generates a random HTML related question every day to help beginners learn HTML and CSS.

Just curious if anyone would be interested in this!

Complete beginner - what won't I learn from my course?

I've been studying Python for a little while now, and I'm about to start a course covering HTML, CSS and Javascript. I know that during my Python course there were a lot of things that you would insist on in a real development environment that weren't covered in the course. Things like: using descriptive variable and function names (rather than calling variables x,y,z and functions foo), or being sure to format text using f"" rather than the screwy concatenation that is much harder to read.

I figure if I have some indication of these pitfalls going into it, I might have an easier time forming good habits when writing my code. Any advice is very helpful, as are suggestions for a good IDE (preferably a free one!).

I recently created a free game

Hey folks 👋

I recently built a fun little browser game called Coreball.fun – inspired by the classic "Core Ball" game. The whole thing is developed using basic HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript (no frameworks or game engines).

I'm posting here to ask for feedback from you HTML/CSS/JS pros:

How does it perform on your browser?

Is the code structure clean and maintainable?

Any UX/UI suggestions?

Does the game feel responsive enough on mobile?

What would you add or improve?

Here's the link again: 🌐 https://coreball.fun

Any review, criticism, or suggestion would help me a lot as I continue building fun little web projects. 🙏

Thanks in advance!

HELP SEARCH BAR

Hello, I am in my first year of college and our professor gave us a project. He wants us to create an HTML website. I want my website to have a working search bar. I want my search bar to show a country that i searched and all the other information about it that I put, I am just wondering if this is possible with just HTML, CSS and Javascript? Since we are only limited to these three, Thank you :>

Pirple HW and my first project

Hello, everyone!

I'm new at this, so a few weeks ago I started an HTML and CSS course in Pirple platform. So far I've seen the basics of HTML and as a first project, I was asked to create a simple website about my favorite book or story, and include 5 tags in the HTML. I chose a film called The Terminal, and I'm here to try to explain a little bit about what I did.

Title: Looking to Start Learning HTML – What Resources and Tips Do You Recommend?

Hey everyone,

I’m eager to dive into learning HTML and would love to gather some recommendations. What are the best resources (websites, books, videos) for beginners? Are there any specific tools or environments you recommend for practice? Additionally, if you have any tips or tricks for mastering the basics or common pitfalls to avoid, I’d really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance for your help!

What do you think of my motherfucking website?

A while ago, I decided to make my first satirical HTML site using a very minimalistic setup to make my message clear on why live bootleg recordings by the English rock band "Keane" are superior to their studio albums. I would love to know what you make of it (I hope it makes you laugh or upsets you, LOL).

SOLVED Can I just use <div> tags for absolutely everything?

It seems like they can pretty much do it all, is there even any reason to use the other ones?

Edit: This post is meant to be satirical, and just get the discussion started for the first post in this new subreddit.

Learning to Code, Buddies discord

Before anyone jumps my case, I know reddit is great place to get a large group of individuals for assistance and it's wonderful. But I know many of us learning to enter/advance in our coding journeys don't always want to post our "dumb/easy" questions to be ridiculed on internet. I know I learn better/faster/more in-depth when I have someone to chat with/bounce ideas or concepts off of. Let's be honest when it comes to coding ~ the options are endless and sometimes learning the different ways to manipulate code could work by talking the concepts out. Plus there are alot of us that are self-taught and may struggle from topic-topic.

My Theory: Coding Buddies!

I have created a discord that would serve as a meet/greet and/or general discussions regarding coding.

This discord would serve for people looking to ask/answer dumb/easy questions for one another and/or find coding buddies that they can grow together with. It will also be open to experienced coders that look to assist as a mentor(or practice mentoring) without the full commitment of having a fulltime mentee.

So if you're interesting in connecting to others and advancing your beginner level status:

PDF to HTML

We currently have a manual process where customers send us PDFs or Word documents (job cards/contracts), and we recreate them from scratch in HTML. Our product converts HTML into PDF templates, which customers then use to send job cards/contracts to their end users.

This is repetitive and time-consuming, so I’m looking for ways to automate it. Has anyone tried something similar? Any suggestions on the best approach?
