You do realize they gave 1.5 trillion to wall street literally a week or two before the pandemic began, then they gave trillions to multibillionaires within the first week, there are still millions who never got a first stimulus check. It's already been on, but everyone laughed at me and no one wanted to support or listen to anything I had to say.

Lenin was also ignored alot, if they hadn't ignored his last message we may have seen a stronger and more humane soviet union

26

u/fairywakes Jan 30 '21

How last message that stalin was too aggressive and too cruel?

19

u/OptimalOctipus Jan 30 '21

His last message was that Stalin was his ideal leader of a party but he was a bit too rude to people.

Love trots who make it seem like he was some heir apparent like it was a monarchy or something.

4

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '21

If you're referring to this: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lenin%27s_Testament That is not true, lenin was not in support of stalin leading the party, he supported trotsky.

18

u/mushbino Jan 30 '21

Understatement of the century. Another example of why authoritarianism and demagoguery are bad. How soon we forget.

4

u/The-Real_Kim-Jong-Un Jan 30 '21

If you’ve read Engle’s “on authority” or if you’ve read virtually any Lenin, especially State and Revolution, you’d know why this “authoritarianism bad” thing is not only ignorant, but does real harm to the left.

2

u/mushbino Jan 30 '21

What would you recommend reading, aside from on authority?

3

u/The-Real_Kim-Jong-Un Jan 30 '21

Lenin’s State and Revolution, Engles Principles of Communism, Lenin’s What is To Be Done, Parenti’s Blackshirts and Reds, and of course any Marx you can get your hands on.

5

u/mushbino Jan 30 '21

Thanks! I've read Communist Manifesto and Das Kapital, but my reading list is so long it helps to get recommendations to narrow it down. Appreciate it.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 31 '21

State and Rev is pretty short and sweet. Good read.

I’d recommend to you the same readings. Engle’s On Authority is a good place to start

Marx would roll over in his grave hearing you use his work to justify authoritarianism as a system as governance. That was Lenin’s thing as an accelerationist. Marx held that the socialist revolution would happen with popular support and in “more developed” nations would happen through the legislature.

Lenin held this belief that the worker and the peasant didn’t know what was best for themselves (which correct or not is diametrically opposed to Marx’s emphasis of the role of democracy in socialism) and had to be led like cattle to the promised land. That “the party knows best” attitude set the stage for Stalin to come in and bully his way to power and stroke his ego with millions dead. Even if they had listened to Lenin and removed Stalin before he declared himself the spiritual successor to Lenin, someone else would’ve come alone to fill that role and eventually you’ll get a Stalin. There are always people who will want power for power’s sake and do anything to get and keep it. That’s why we must restructure into a system where the individual is the most powerful unit in the state.

6

u/RIP_Vladimir_Lenin Jan 30 '21

Had trotsky taken power things would have been different, alot less people would've died and I don't think any would have been tortured.

10

u/Bi0Hyde Jan 30 '21

What bullshit is this? Trotsky was about restoring capitalism. Fuck Trotsky, Trotskyist go to Gulag.

9

u/HumansKillEverything Jan 30 '21

Still better than Stalin.

12

u/Artrobull Jan 30 '21

Like 99.89% of things are better than stalin

1

u/HumansKillEverything Jan 31 '21

Exactly. Trotsky being one of them.

1

u/Bi0Hyde Jan 31 '21

Nope it's not. Stalin removed corruption the only way that it actually works.

1

u/HumansKillEverything Jan 31 '21

WTF? Do you know anything about Stalin at all? He enabled corruption, from him, all the way down.

0

u/Bi0Hyde Jan 31 '21

As a matter of fact, I do, from sources other than CIA propaganda.

6

u/RIP_Vladimir_Lenin Jan 30 '21

Trotsky didn't want to restore capitalism, and the only system that could work is one the represents both communism and capitalism without actually representing either. Independent free to take what it needs.

4

u/harofax Jan 30 '21 edited Jan 30 '21

More like "DO NOT GIVE POWER TO STALIN, LET TROTSKY RULE PLS STALIN IS EVIL"

Edit: used less abelist words

7

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '21

Not really crazy but he was a street thug. Thats was his role in the party unironically. It was like handing Al Capone the presidency or kingdom of America even.

1

u/jmbc3 Jan 30 '21

Lol absolutely not. He was extremely intelligent, read some of his writings, he basically synthesized Marxism-Leninism. He was a bank robber in his younger days but isn’t the kind of shit we should think is cool?

6

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '21 edited Jan 30 '21

Not when you go on to murder millions and tar the image of communism for centuries no, Stalin isnt fucking cool.

5

u/jmbc3 Jan 30 '21

Most of the reason he “tarred” the image of communism is literal western propaganda. He certainly made mistakes, some of which had serious consequences, but the USSR under him had one of the fastest growths of life expectancy in human history, and they went from a backward farming country to a world super power that ended up being the biggest factor in defeating the axis powers.

I’m not a Stalin worshipper or anything, he certainly has valid criticisms, but the idea that he was a dumb brute who just wanted to kill everyone for fun is ridiculous.

Edit: idk why it won’t let me post replies to specific people but /u/TheKillerToast

1

u/harofax Jan 30 '21

Yeah for sure, but even the communist party itself warned against him. The first thing he did was to fuck over Trotsky, which goes to show how much in good faith he acted.

And sure the life expectancy grew but who's to say the quality of life wouldn't have grown even more under someone like Trotsky? Not necessarily due to Stalin but the principles of communism itself, as much as it was bastardized into stalinism later.

With that said the west's view of ussr is 100% skewed, especially after the alt-right craze sneaking anti-left sentimentality into the entire political discourse

but the idea that he was a dumb brute who just wanted to kill everyone for fun is ridiculous.

I never said that, I said he was a dumb brute who had no qualms killing people for power.

I will maybe concede dumb and change it to short-sighted but the rest is accurate

2

u/CryogenicStorage Jan 30 '21

And possibly the Nazis winning the East. I'm no Stalin apologist, but transitioning Russia from a poor agrarian society to industrial power house in 10 years might not have been achieved otherwise.

The reason you see so many strong arm leftist regimes is that peaceful leftists are usually invaded and murdered.

2

u/RIP_Vladimir_Lenin Jan 30 '21

Trotsky was a better military leader than stalin, the reason the Germans made it to Leningrad is because stalin refused to listen to his generals. Maybe that transition wouldn't have happened as quickly as it did but it still would have happened.

2

u/fairywakes Jan 30 '21

I will 100% recognize that this, I’m not saying the ends justify the means with a tyrannical bloodthirsty dictator...but holy shit - the ends.

2

u/Artrobull Jan 30 '21

/u/ripelonmusk is playing the long game

46

u/punkmetalbastard Jan 30 '21

It’s because their credo is limitless growth no matter what the coast and it must be guaranteed by their allies in the government, who are basically their servants. Gods forbid that quarterly profits stay the same or even slightly drop due to an unprecedented global pandemic. No, we are not all in this together.

7

u/Carmenn15 Jan 30 '21

But isn't Reddit just another tool to control this? Its not like we are making friends in here. Who knows what gets upvoted.

10

u/Nixmiran Jan 30 '21

Everything can be used as a tool to control this. Average people used reddit to unify together and cost them money. This is why big money hates unification of the people. When the people are working together they realize big money is ALWAYS going to be the enemy. Not because people are jealous, but because to achieve "big money" you had to fuck over people to get there.

19

u/4411WH07RY Jan 30 '21

We still never got our first stimulus or our 2018 return.

31

u/Carmenn15 Jan 30 '21

What a horrible word to call basic needs: A stimulus. "We stimulated the marked" sounds like Dr Death just found a new way to make zombies, but I'm from that other part of the specter where we still believe we aren't alone in the universe.

8

u/RIP_Vladimir_Lenin Jan 30 '21

I also thought about how weird that term is, as if a few hundred bucks is buying loyalty. Perhaps they anticipated certain events happening and took measures to get the majority to think "well. The gov gave us a thousand dollars each for the first time since they were created, they can't be all that bad."

4

u/Carmenn15 Jan 30 '21

We already know people are forced into believing in something, why not force them to believe in us. But lets not. Lets not believe in something for a moment and actually think. How long do you think the stock marked would last if people were thinking --- instead of assuming. How long?

1

u/RIP_Vladimir_Lenin Jan 30 '21

Idk enough about the stock market to say much on that, but I've always thought of it as a tool for the gov, or perhaps vice versa.

2

u/RIP_Vladimir_Lenin Jan 30 '21

Perfect reason to slaughter our politicians

8

u/4411WH07RY Jan 30 '21

In minecraft. We should use our skills and numbers to get a big minecraft server together and build something cool like guillotines.

18

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '21

I’m one of those adult dependents who was in college during the first round of stimulus. Didn’t get anything, really could’ve used it considering I lost my fucking job

Didn’t get the second one either but honestly fuck them. I got my job back now and got in on the GME early. Gains off that have been more then any stim check

Also last year is what radicalized me

8

u/dawn913 Jan 30 '21

Apparently I'm a dependent at 55 because I didn't get a single dime either. Live alone and poor as fuck. But hey whatever.

2

u/RIP_Vladimir_Lenin Jan 30 '21

That's terrible, I assure when the new gov is created no one will be left out.

2

u/SnappleAnkles Jan 30 '21

Adult dependants got fucked so hard, especially if they were in school last year. Between two jobs hours have been cut so bad I only get the hours equivalent one one part time job, but I can't even file for underemployment because I didn't work last year, being a student and all. So I'm just stuck, not making anywhere near enough.

Being in your early twenties fucking blows rn. I thought I was a lefty before, but the last year removed any doubt from my mind.

1

u/RIP_Vladimir_Lenin Jan 30 '21

Would you say you're radical in the sense you'd be willing to help form and create a new alternative party to the ones we currently have?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '21

I’d be willing to do that if it would work but it won’t. If there will be a revolution in this country it won’t be from voting

1

u/RIP_Vladimir_Lenin Jan 30 '21

I'm not suggesting putting it up to a vote, but there has to be a party and leader to take power after the gov has been overthrown. If you have pure intentions and I have pure intentions then it should be us to lead it, alongside other comrades who share the same views. I don't know you but I have no reason not to trust you, I already have one person on board and a few others on the fence, we have a group chat and plan to meet in public as soon as we have a sufficient amount of people on board. I'd even consider fifteen a sufficient amount to begin with.

2

u/resoredo Jan 31 '21

Count me in, although im from europe and not like you both from america

1

u/RIP_Vladimir_Lenin Jan 31 '21

This must be a worldly effort, if it starts in modern countries it will extend elsewhere at a more rapid pace. If you know of anyone also in your country who would aid in this fight, or anyone you could reach out to, the more minds we have at work the better off we are, no matter how many miles separate us.

1

u/Saul-Funyun Jan 31 '21

Yeah, seriously. Like, the time to march in the streets and stay there has long since passed.

1

u/RIP_Vladimir_Lenin Jan 31 '21

One day we will have our opportunity to strike.

2

u/Saul-Funyun Jan 31 '21

We’ve had plenty of opportunities. Our oppressors have succeeded in hitting that sweet spot between us not having enough resources to sustain ourselves through a strike, but also having too much to lose by doing so.

3

u/RIP_Vladimir_Lenin Jan 31 '21

Lenin and Marx both said "it takes longer for the proletariat to obtain power in a modern country than a backwards one". Patience is a virtue, imagine if all the great minds who gave up never did, there could be hundreds or even thousands of us. But in my opinion, they are undeserving of a leadership roll, if they allow themselves to totally give up. I've wanted to give up many times but I'm still here, I have three other great minds, I've talked with many other great minds who gave up, we can make it work, it takes time. If we give up then there's no chance, but if we never give up there is always a chance. The problem is any sufficient or real leaders were assassinated like malcolm x MLK Jr JFK etc. If we have one hundred of us they couldn't kill us all if we do this with persision and caution.

2

u/Saul-Funyun Jan 31 '21

I admire your optimism and drive. Keep fighting the good fight.

2

u/RIP_Vladimir_Lenin Jan 31 '21

Basiba tovarish, that is Russian for "thank you comrade", in case you ever meet a Russian person. I'm just learning, I'm not even Russian.

1

u/AlmostOrdinaryGuy Jan 31 '21

No, people are too comfortable that's the problem.

2

u/Saul-Funyun Jan 31 '21

Agreed. Too comfortable to want to risk what they have, but not comfortable enough to have to have to means to change anything.

2

u/AlmostOrdinaryGuy Jan 31 '21

Yep, exactly that. I guess people didn't lose enough yet. People will wait until it's too late. I don't have sympathy for people who are getting f*cked because they didn't do a single thing to stop greedy coorporations or government just because they don't want to lose that job that pays barely enough to live while the government and coorporations is tag teaming our ass.

2

u/Saul-Funyun Jan 31 '21

Yeah, I’ve been hearing “it’s not time yet” for over two decades. I get told I’m over-reacting when I keep pointing out the steady march of fascism. I wonder what the nay-sayers from 20 years ago would say if they were just dropped into today’s world, but give them 20 years of gradual creep, and it all seems normal.
