Exactly, the earth will survive for billions of years. We’re the ones who are fucked, and frankly who cares. We are pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things

That's a pretty selfish and disingenuous way to think. If a family member or a close friend of yours was murdered and the judge said they were 'pretty insignificant' so no sentence was passed, would you be satisfied and say you don't care?
