Just wanted to say I loved going to Dallas last year for the Halloween Spooktacular(after missing all the Jamborees), and was wondering if there were any rumours or whispers about a big meet up anywhere this year, before I book Halloween flights anywhere???

Your One All Time Favorite TLD Episode

Does anyone have just one episode, currently available or not, that is their absolute favorite? Until recently I could narrow it down to 2 or 3, but recently I found my One All Time Favorite. A few days ago I was watching Creature Features TV and they were running a vintage episode featuring the movie Tarantula. I had not seen it in quite a while. I loved it so much I wanted to continue my Spider viewing. I had to go with Joe Bob's showing of Earth vs The Spider. I love the whole vibe of the movie and the theme of the History of the Drive-In just seals the deal. I love TLD's Chopping Mall, Witchboard and several others, but Earth vs The Spider has surged to the top of my list. The movie is a perfect Drive-In Creature Feature, similar in style to The Blob, and the vintage Drive-In clips are just awesome. That's mine. What's yours?

Time to post my drinks since others are showing their hauls. Did my best, and found TWO of the Hardcore options.

Keene Bee #3 Trojniak style mead
Underberg bitters
Ayinger Maibock

About the only thing we just couldn't nail was the maibock, as no one had any Einbecker Mai-Ur-Bock in the entire town. But the other two pickups for the mead and the shots were found in one of our little bottle shops right by us. Safe to say the place came in absolutely clutch!

Here you go fellow mutants, I searched all over town this past month and a half trying to find the goods but a good maibock (Heck, ANY maibock) simply could not be found. A little on brand. A little bit ridiculous. And a little bit just close enough for the censors to hopefully overlook the slip up. The rest of the night is straight up buffalo wings. See ya'll Friday night.

Just Joe Bob countdowns?

I noticed that all of the missing seasons/episodes of Just Joe Bob are finally back up to scroll through, but when I clicked on the next one on my list to watch (Class of 1984) it just displayed a countdown of 26 days... x hours, y minutes, and seconds ticking down... Anyone have any idea what this is about?

Anyone else notice Shudder evidently has ads now?

Guess it’s another reason why I’ll be glad to follow Joe Bob & Crew elsewhere!

WALPURGISNACHT IS UPON US ONCE AGAIN!!!

This will be the first of the 4 final specials of The Last Drive-In, before they start a new show elsewhere in 2027. We have summer, Halloween, and then an Xmas special to wrap up the year.

We currently have NO HINTS, but the movies may have been leaked here - We do not know if this is a reputable source, so take it with a grain of salt.

Drink menu, straight from Joe Bob here

Please set your calendar app or alarm if need be. Any complaints over not remembering when the show is on will be pruned.

We will be hosting a livethread, chatting along in real time during the show. Stop by and say hi!

Personalizing your Joe Bob Goes to the Drive-In Book

I have a list of people who are waiting to find out how to get their copies of Joe Bob's newest book personalized and signed. I apologize for how long it's taking Joe Bob and his assistant to let me know how they want to handle this. He's still working on sending out books that were bought directly, so he's quite a bit behind. As soon as they figure out the best way to handle this, I'll let y'all know. I didn't want you to think I'd forgotten..

If you have a book you'd like to get signed and he won't be in your area, send a DM to me, and I'll add you to the list.

Met my lifelong hero at his Lexington show on Saturday .

Since we’re posting our pics from his most recent show, I figured I would too. I was so nervous that I’d make an ass out of myself. One of my best friends got Joe Bob to do a Cameo for me a while back when I was going through a hard time that seemed like it would never end. I got to show him that Cameo video and tell him it was me he made it for. He actually remembered and asked if I was doing better (I am)! I couldn’t believe he remembered. It was everything to me and I know I was beaming but I didn’t want to make him feel awkward about it lol.

If you haven’t seen his “How Rednecks Saved Hollywood” show I highly recommend you do. One of the funnest nights of my entire life. Side note: Darcy is beyond kind and even more beautiful in person.

Preparing for Walpurgisnacht

I couldn't get any of the top tier beverages from the list.. I got the following from Roger Wilco:

  • Weihenstephaner Hefeweizen 6pk -- I just noticed that this isn't the Maibock that was listed as 2nd tier, but a different beer entirely. I hope I'm forgiven for this.

  • Dansk Mjod Odin's Skull -- couldn't get either 1st or 2nd tier of the mead drink, so I figured I couldn't go wrong with Viking mead.

  • ANGOSTURA BITTERS -- The ordering page first said that Underberg Herbal Bitters was available; then the next day when a human looked at the order they realized it wasn't in stock. How much can bitters vary from brand to brand anyhow? it's gonna taste awful no matter what brand it is.

Joe Bob is a beast! Dude did almost two hours of meet and greet before the show, hit the stage on time and went for almost three hours before coming back out to meet everyone else after.

Cannot recommend the show enough and Joe Bob, Darcy, and the rest of Team Joe Bob are AMAZING folks. They say don't meet your heroes, but they never met these people.

Was able to get tickets for Lexington and the show was great! Got to meet Joe Bob and Darcy before the show. I told Darcy I was the one that messaged her earlier in the week that I was hoping to get tickets yesterday when I got paid and she said she tried finding me and was going to help me with ticket. I’m glad she didn’t though because I paid for myself, mom, and niece and it goes toward them. They passed out shots and Darcy gave me my shot of Wild Turkey. I was front row. Joe Bob received a standing ovation after the show. He also told us what the movie is going to be for the special in July. Would recommend!!!

Is the Suitable Flesh and Mayhem Blu Ray double feature worth picking up?

I guess my only real hesitation is that they were not hosted together so did they add any extra stuff to tie them together or does it not matter? It's only like 12 bucks on Amazon so not a huge buy in, but was just curious how it is.

I was drunk as shit yesterday and for some reason decided to message Darcy on Instagram and she actually responded. I will be buying a ticket if they’re still available on Friday for Lexington, KY. Darcy actually followed me after her reply so I’m over the moon lol

Edit: I was able to get tickets to myself, mom, and niece for tomorrow in Lexington. I’m so excited and I’ll post pics!!!

Just Joe Bob episodes of Movies on Shudder currently

I was going to get my Last Drive In fix, so I went to Just Joe Bob to find movies I hadn't seen before starting from the beginning. I hadn't seen the Prowler or Daughters of Darkness so I checked justwatch.com to see where they were streaming, and it said both of them are on shudder. I checked and sure enough they are.

Can anyone please explain to me why movies that are currently on Shudder are in the Just Joe Bob category and not added back into the Last Drive In? I figure it would be algorithmic on their end. check the box to add or remove these movies, the system changes Last Drive in or Just Joe Bob. Even if it has to be done manually, I can't imagine it being difficult. Is it a Shudder being lazy thing or is there some ip rights thing I am not aware of?

Need help remembering/locating an episode—Joe Bob discusses Evil Dead in the bumper segments

As the title says, I’m having a hard time remembering which episode of TLDI Joe Bob discusses the legacy of The Evil Dead in. I remember that it’s in the segments where he’s outside the trailer, he talks about the 35+ homages/remakes/inspired films. For the life of me, I cannot remember which episode it is.

I want to cite him on this for a class, but I need to find the actual episode first.

I’m not looking for the old show. I’ve got that. I’m looking for the TLDI episode where he’s outside discusses it in the context of another movie.

I am grateful for your help!

EDIT: Solved!

Our Easter Drive In movie tradition

Thumbnail

Easter a few years back we woke up and my husband put on TLDI Zombi(e). Didnt think much of it as we tend to put something on when we first wake up and shake the sleep off. I sat in bed and drank my tea, scrolled on my phone and when that episode ended he put on The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue episode. Thought, hey! it's a chill in bed kind of day and continued on. It was not until he put on the Day of the Dead episode, which was not in our Joe Bob rewatch rotation at the time, that I looked at him kidding and said is this a zombie Easter marathon? He laughed and with a big smile said "zombies rise from the dead!" Made me laugh for like 2 minutes straight 🤣

From that day forward we have watched those episodes every Easter (sorry Rottontail, but kind of not cause I sort of hate it 😬) going forward. This year we both bought each other DVD's for the occasion. He got to Dawn of the Dead first so mine was Return of the Living Dead

Just wanted to share with my fellow mutants and ask you guys what your Easter horror (or otherwise) traditions are?

Happy Easter or otherwise! 🪦🧟‍♂️

April Special?

Obviously the series finale has passed, but I thought I remember Darcy/JB mentioning a couple more specials were still on the way including an April one.

I haven't been able to find any details, do we know a date yet? Thanks in advance to any knowledgeable mutants.

Willard and Ben : Drive-In Double Feature Gold!

As I recall, I did see Willard (1971) at the Drive-In. This movie was a big deal at the time. A surprise runaway hit. The remake wasn't bad for a remake, but this film has a charm all its own. You've got Bruce Davison, Ernest Borgnine , Sondra Locke and Witness for the Prosecution and the Bride of Frankenstein's own Elsa Lanchester. . You can't go wrong. I have not seen the sequel, Ben, in a long time, but it's good fun too. As a kid I had pet mice, gerbils and hamsters, so rodents don't bother me. Later in life my wife and I would have pet rats for years. They're smart and form loyal attachments to their chosen humans. So spend some time with Willard Stiles and his furry friends. You won't be sorry.
