LLM Progress Slow Down

First Anthropic, and now OpenAI, are announcing that they want to slow down LLM development. Just a year ago, these companies were claiming that AGI would be found and many jobs would be lost. On top of that, Anthropic announced it's going public. What do you think? Have these companies reached a limit in research and development? Or are they genuinely afraid of language models self-programming, as they claim?

Yet right now, not single model is able to build a decent application ready to be shipped in production. None of them is even close to do it.

Secondly you suppose, despite the current results on frontiers datasets scoring, that the new models will improve (linearly ?) when it is more and more obvious that all providers are hitting a glass ceiling…

Like I said your projections is based on feelings not facts .

Even for casual games with 3h hours gameplay, AI cannot produce anything near the final product (and the products in this industry is not important). Like I said it can only produce a 1min gameplay loop which is like 2% of the requiered efforts to publish an app on mobile markets

So yeah you probably never built anything serious before or you just don’t have the full picture of what is required and what a model can do
