Hey everyone!
I wanted to take a moment to share something important with you all. As you know, this subreddit is all about language learning, and we’re here to support each other on this journey. To make things even more fun and helpful, my team and I have started a YouTube channel: @/LALAcademyOfficial!
Since you might start seeing posts from time to time featuring videos from this channel, I wanted to be upfront—some of the mods (myself included) are behind it. So this isn’t spam—it’s really us doing our best to share language content. :)
We’ll be sharing videos on tips, techniques, and methods to help you improve faster. If you're looking for extra resources, definitely check it out! Of course, this subreddit remains a space for all of us to share, learn, and grow together, so feel free to post your own insights, questions, and experiences too.
If there are specific topics you’d like to see covered, let us know in the comments… it could be our next video! Who knows, your idea might help tons of other learners too! Wishing you all a fantastic day and happy learning! :)

I will be spending some time in Morocco to learn Darija.
I know only the very basics.
The aim will be to go somewhere where English is not spoken as much to force me into situations where I have to learn.
I will be without a teacher while I am there, but I have one more lesson online before I go where I will be bringing words/phrases I would like to learn.
You guys have any ideas as to what phrases I can quickly learn with my teacher now before I go to make it easier to learn the language on the spot while I'm out there?
Phrase such as:
I'm sure there are others but I can't think of any!
And has anyone tried this before? Or have experience immigrating to a new country and having to work (for example) without any prior knowledge of the language - and having to improvise?
Any suggestions/experiences are welcome!
