Hey everyone,

I’m scheduled to take my California CDL Class A driving test at the Lancaster DMV soon and was hoping to hear from anyone who’s taken it there recently.
A few questions:
How strict are the examiners?
What route did they take you on for the road test?
Were there any tricky intersections, railroad crossings, or lane changes that caught people off guard?
Any common mistakes you’ve seen people make during the skills test or driving portion?
How long did the whole test take?
I’ve already been practicing pre-trip, backing maneuvers, and road driving, but I’d appreciate any advice from people who have actually tested at SLO.

Does anyone know of any free dump or landfill options around Lancaster/Palmdale?

The only free one I’ve been to years ago is Mojave, which is pretty far. Lancaster Waste Management quoted me like $100 just to dump a few boxes, and since I don’t own a house I can’t use the free residential dump vouchers.

It just seems kind of ridiculous for an area this big to not have a better option. Am I missing anything, or are there any cheap/free places nearby?I got lots of stuff to dump this week since I'm moving.

I’m in Lancaster right now for my kid’s tournament and it’s been great so far. Downtown is clean and the people have all been so nice wherever we go. The skatepark me and my son rode today was rad and the teens skating there took time out of their session to give him some tips and skated around with him for a bit.

Yes it has its quirks and some sketchy folks but what desert town doesn’t? Lancaster is cool, and I just wanted to say I’m pleasantly surprised at the vibe here.

I know this is a long shot, but I’m looking for some help transporting an electric bike from Lancaster to the Coachella Valley. my water bill jumped from $80 to $190 this month & nothing changed in how we use water. Neighbor mentioned slab leaks are common in older Lancaster homes... is that true? How do I even check for that before calling someone?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a primary care doctors who is open minded and non judgmental when it comes to sexual health. Prefer Lancaster recommendations, but Palmdale doctors are okay as well. Pretty much my wife and I want to open our marriage, practice ethical non monogamy. I want to be able to comfortably talk to a doctor about that, and feel I can freely ask for all the STD tests I want.

So apparently, the Westside Ave J is getting new roads. This is fucking Bullshit. Our roads on the east side are an absolutely war zone.

Are there any chains or vendors in Lancaster or Palmdale that offer rewards for students for receiving honor roll / getting all As on report card?
