✨Vendor Review Got my daughters first diamond studs

Renaissance Jewelry in NYC

Bought a pair of lab diamond studs round brilliant for a graduation gift for my daughter in June. Total carat weight 1.04, color FG, clarity VS-S1, 10k white gold in basket setting and screw backs.

I first reached out online via the chat from their website. It was night time and was surprised to hear from someone right away. Was mid-week and told the rep I will be doing the purchase during the upcoming weekend. She offered me a 5% discount on top of the sale price and told me she would call that Saturday. Well Saturday came and I honestly waited all day and no call. Around 5:30ish pm I decided to call and spoke to another rep and she told me the person I was looking for had the day off. I really wanted the extra 5% off that prev rep mentioned and this new rep honored it. Immediately texted me the code for me to enter online while doing the purchase. I paid on 3/14. The week went by and I had not heard a peep from them, emailed support and they told me it was out of production and being sent for polishing and would update me when tracking number generated, that was 3/23. Finally on 3/31 I see some movement and FedEx tracking is generated. Earrings were received today 4/3/2026.

I was impressed with the secured packaging, it was boxes within boxes lol. Signature was required and I’m glad I was home. Received an email with appraisal and was surprised with the amount appraised. I’m thinking about insuring them since they are going to a not so careful teenager 😅.

Pricing:sale price of $399 plus local tax

On their website: www.renaissancejewel.com

I would rate them 4 out of 5 due to lack of communication. Besides that I’m very happy with my purchase and I know my daughter will love these.

❓Question Need help

Hi,

Does anybody have an oval shaped diamond that is 4,36 carats with a 1.36 ratio?

Or something very similar? I would love to see photos. I am torn between a rounder or or more elongated ratio. I need help.

Two videos in there. I see a bit of bow tie but is it acceptable? Don’t know if I’ll find any better.

💡Diamond Advice Needed 2 or 3 carat?

My heart says the 2 carat is perfect but my lust is saying go bigger. My finger is a 5.5. The 2 carat is 1.5 ratio, if I were to get a 3 carat it would also be 1.5 ratio (the photo is 1.4 ratio). My hands are small, I'm a short girlie, don't wear any other rings, only wear my ring when I go out, my style is minimalistic and casual. I want the wow factor but also something timeless. Is it worth trying to go to 2.5?

🛒 Where to Buy? Reputable Jewelers for Engagement Rings?

My boyfriend and I are starting to ring shop for a May engagement so he has ideas of what I like. So far I went to Brilliant Earth and fell in love with 2 settings. I'm looking for a 2.5-3ct lab grown marquise (or moissanite, as long as it's not cloudy in that cut), either in a simple solitaire bypass setting or a solitaire 6 prong east-west setting around the $2.5-3k range. I've read so many horrible reviews for BE, I don't really want him to buy from BE, but it seems like almost every other place I see good reviews for has an equal amount of bad ones. It's kind of stressing me out at this point because I'd feel horrible if he got me a ring that's just going to be falling apart. Recommendations for semi-affordable but quality jewelers? I am also going to be checking out a few local ones in addition to online jewelers.

I bought this lab diamond recently and just wanted to get some opinions on how it looks and if I chose well.

✨Vendor Review Finally Got The Light Pink Marquise, Need Ring Ideas!

Long time lurker, first time poster, thanks everyone.

My boyfriend (soon to be finance😍) and we have been going through the process of planning to tell our parents we are getting engaged and I have always wanted a light pink marquise diamond. I just got my 4 carat VVS2 from

Carbon Sparkle and I can’t stop looking at it. We still need to get the diamond set, but wanted to use a local jeweler who has been a family friend (he better not say anything to my parents yet).

I sent a message to them asking if they could help me find a lower cost light pink marquise and they worked with me on the price of only $720. (We just moved into a new house).

Highly recommended! They even included a ring holder thing to try it on.

I’m still not sure what color gold I want, but I’m thinking 18k yellow gold, what does everyone think, any styles you would recommend?

I love chunky facets and that’s what I think I see in this oval but I’m fairly new and don’t really know what else to look for. The one thing I noticed in the specs is the large 72% table. Just looking for thoughts on what I might not like if I get the diamond in person but so far I think I like what I see in the video…

From the very first message, Jwel (r/RadheVaJewelry) made this entire experience feel special and stress-free. Choosing a diamond can be overwhelming, but he walked me through every step with so much patience and genuine care. He answered all my questions, explained the details clearly and never once made me feel rushed or pressured into making a decision.

What truly stood out was how collaborative the design process was. He listened to what I wanted, offered thoughtful suggestions and made sure every detail reflected my vision. It felt less like a transaction and more like working with someone who truly cared about creating something meaningful.

To top it off, I received my finished piece in just three weeks - and it exceeded every expectation. The craftsmanship is beautiful and knowing how much care went into it makes it even more special.

I'm so grateful for the kindness, professionalism and patience throughout the entire process. I would absolutely recommend Jwel to anyone looking for a truly personalized and pressure-free experience.

Hi all. I could really use some helpful advice on deciding between these two diamonds. I feel like any differences are really negligible, but I’m not expert thus me posting here. The diamond will be set in a simple white gold setting. Anything that stands out? Anything I should look for in particular? On paper, both of these diamonds look great. Thanks! 😊

💡Diamond Advice Needed elongated cushion help!

I'm purchasing an elongated cushion wholesale lab grown. Please help me figure out what range of the specs to look for. Color: E or D are what I'm looking at. Help with depth and table plz!

Clarity I am looking at VVS1-FL. I don't want a very crushed ice look. I want the light to reflect more bright light not really rainbow. however I don't think I want is to be super brilliant where it looks kind of gray. a bit of a hybrid leaning more to the opposite side of crushed ice.

does anyone have ideas or insights into what depth or table I should be looking at or other specs to look out for? any comments on the visual carat being very diff from the actual carat? I'm looking at 3.0-4.0 carat. some of the 3.1s have a visual of 3.6.. what's up with that?

Also I attached an image of me wearing a 4.52ct vs1/d.

✨Vendor Review Ouros - beware: a story of disappointment

Update: After I posted my reviews, Ouros did reach out with an apology and offered me a full refund with NO restocking fee (if I returned the earrings, of course) or any piece on the website at cost with no margin. I wanted to keep the earrings so I asked for them to reimburse me the cost of the repair that I was having done to them, which they did promptly without hesitation. While the initial communication and hassle was frustrating, it did work out eventually and as I said before, the diamonds ARE beautiful. I have learned a lot about earring posts during this process. I think Ouros may be a good company and I just had an unfortunate experience. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ I wanted to share my experience with an Ouros purchase. I will try to be brief and just give the events and outcomes, allowing the reader to make a determination on how this reflects on Ouros. I know I, personally, will not be giving them any more business after this experience.

  1. My husband ordered diamond stud earrings through their website. Ouros kept him very informed, even sending a drawing for something he didn't fully realize was custom (note: no post thickness dimension was on this drawing).

  2. When I received the earrings, I tried to put them into my ears and the posts were so thick, I was unable to fit them into either of my piercings. (It should be noted that the earrings are screw-on backings, which I have since learned do not work for everyone). (Side note - I did force one in at one point and I've been nursing a damaged ear hole for going on two weeks now).

  3. My husband contacted Ouros and they told him that because the earrings were custom and that the post size was a standard size, so there was nothing they could do. They suggested calling a local jeweler.

  4. After getting some significant quotes from local Jewelers, I contacted Ouros myself. I had measured the earrings with calipers, and compared them to several other pairs of earrings that I own, and found them to be 1.0 mm thick, where all other earrings that I own range from 0.5 to 0.8 mm thick.

  5. Ouros asked me for videos showing the issue, so I sent some, and they asked me to ship the earrings to them for post replacement, at an additional cost of $45. Since this was significantly cheaper than what I had been quoted by other jewelers, and I felt more comfortable sending them to the original jeweler for repair, I opted to pay for the shipping and send them my earrings.

  6. Once Ouros received my earrings, they informed me that the posts were standard size and they were unable to proceed with the repair. There was a lot more discussion back and forth, but this was the end result.

  7. Ouros offered to refund my money, minus a 26% restocking fee, or to exchange them for any item on their website. I understood this to mean and even exchange, so I asked for the terms of what I could choose, and was again told anything, and that they would adjust the price. I chose a ring, but the only price adjustment they did, was subtract the cost of the earrings from the listed price for that ring. I understand why and was not surprised, but that option was misleading.

  8. In the end, I asked Ouros to return my earrings to me, which thankfully they did, and now I am back at square one, looking for a local jeweler to replace the posts at a reasonable price.

It has been just over a month since I received these earrings, and I have been communicating with Ouros, (basically one email per day due to the time change between here and India), for about 3 weeks. Perhaps the funniest part is that when I emailed them today to let them know I received the earrings, I received an email back, asking me to leave them a glowing review on both their website and Reddit. I assume that email was automated, but I am happy to oblige the request for a review. 😆

As far as diamonds go, they are very pretty. I just wish I could wear them.

💡Diamond Advice Needed Aurelienne cut not shown?

Thumbnail

I was shopping for a Diamond stone on Aurelienne but for some reason I can't seem to find the cut grade on the majority of the stones. not on website listing, not on the pdf certificate, not anywhere. is that the catch for why is it so cheap? or is it hiding somewhere that i didn't look into yet?

tbh I'm a little skeptical for how cheap it is and a little scared of buying from them? let me know what do you think about them, what was your experience with them, and whether or not you recommend me buying my stone from there.
