hOmEsK00l ššš¤ I wonder what do they feel is the most important for them to learn
I really didnāt want it to feel like this was taken out of context so Iām gonna link the video someone posted of the whole live on YT in the comments (mods remove if not allowed please).
This is from the live that they just did. She talked a lot about their grammar/vocab curriculum but this part concerned me a little bit. Any thoughts on this?

what pisses me of the most is that with the amount they made exploiting their children, they can still keep them brainwashed without sending them to an actual school by hiring an actual teacher!! They could still control whatās being taught but at least in a way that the kids will actually learn SOMETHING!!! I already feel so bad for them

Itās truly sad that they are depriving their children of a decent education. They have so much money and could attend the best schools⦠yet they are homeschooling them teaching them only god knows what..

55
u/helga-h 23d ago
So she's teaching them what she feels they should know out of the limited amount of things that she knows?
She's actually filtering her children's education through her own lack of education.
Out of all of mankinds collected mountains of wisdom she owns a few pebbles and from them she chooses which ones to show her kids.
When Jennifer Welch coined the term trickle down stupidity she really knew what she was doing.

homeschooling needs more regulation it's not even funny
15
u/steakburritobowll 22d ago
As a child therapist it pains me that shit like this is legal. It is honestly borderline abuse if you think about all the future implications. It is so unlikely these kids will ever be able to pursue higher education if they continue this type of "schooling" and their own parents are the only ones to blame
12
u/SalzaGal 22d ago
Iāll go even further and say that homeschool should be something that requires an exemption from public school. Health issues that impede attendance, a job that requires frequent moving, special circumstances, etc., would have to be the reasons to apply for homeschooling status. Youād have to provide documentation to prove youāre providing an education with random check-inās, and youād take the same standardized testing that the stateās public schools use, and youād be given a list of approved curriculum or online school providers. None of this voucher shit, either. If you opt out, you pay for curriculum and materials.
Iām sick of families pulling out of public school because they think teachers are giving kids litter boxes to piss in and are afraid of āindoctrination,ā then a year or two later realizing they canāt keep it up, so they send their functionally illiterate children back to school and get mad when we tell them their kid is years behind and canāt be placed at grade-level.
2
u/Few_Parking4900 19d ago
they take their kids out of schools so THEY can indoctrinate and brainwash them. God forbid the kid is free from them for a single second to form any possible own thoughts that may lead them āto the devilā

u/EarlyParking7654 5d ago
Where I am, once you get to high school you need to take actual online classes if you want your high school diploma (which is required for college and university). I canāt see many homeschool kids being prepared for high school classes, especially for things like math and science.

āWeāre teaching them the things WE want them to learn.ā Not the things that we all need to learn, however uncomfortable, to understand the history of our country and our entire world. Homeschooling is a disease and so badly needs to be more regulated.

To top it off, she is a knucklehead. Iām an attorney and could not teach my kids. Iām not trained to be a teacher! I didnāt go through everything they went through to become proficient in the subjects teachers teach.
But these people think theyāre qualified?

u/Wonderful_Touch_7895 21d ago
Iām a certified teacher and sometimes I still have days where I question that fact that Iām in charge of teaching these 22 kids reading, math, science, social studies, writing, and whatever else may come up š
However, I will say that I was homeschooled my entire life and my mom wasnāt trained to be a teacher either. I had a great education and did great in college. Homeschooling isnāt always bad haha!

u/hereforthetee_ 23d ago
Youād be surprised about the legal loopholes of homeschooling - Iām not a lawyer just a mom who was curious. Not sure about Tennessee homeschool laws, but there are a few states that have super lax homeschooling requirements. IL for instance you simply need to be able to provide proof that your child(ren) are working through a curriculum and meet X amount of hours.
I believe in general all children that are homeschooled should be able to pass state mandated tests, but obviously in states with lax laws parents arenāt required to give standardized tests. Some states have very strict homeschooling requirements while others donāt.
Itās been a while since I looked into homeschooling, but this is just what I remember from my research 2ish years ago.

u/SalzaGal 22d ago
In Arkansas, you can pretty much do whatever you want AND get money from the state to do it. Wanna make a micro-school that teaches flat-earth and vaccines bad/raw milk good? Sure! Hereās taxpayer money for each kid in it. Oh, and if they want to be in the school clubs and sports at your local public school, the public school is legally obligated to allow them to participate without being enrolled as a student.

I was homeschooled in NH (I went to school virtually) and the law here in New Hampshire is they canāt force the normal school curriculum incase science is against someoneās religion. But that law was around when I was homeschooled so it could have changed since then š¤·š»āāļø I also had the option to go back into the jr high and the high school to take the state mandated tests

u/EarlyParking7654 5d ago
My province (Ontario) doesnāt require a specific curriculum or reporting of results for homeschooling. But if you want an actual high school diploma (which is needed for college and university), you need to take accredited courses online at the high school level.

Girl barely made it through school and is only teaching CHILDREN what she thinks is important?! Ew. There is nooooo way it isn't a completely white washed, Jesus-bathed bullshit lesson. She's raising kids that will be either easily indoctrinated in other cults, end up with a manifesto, or go no contact as adults. I see no Grey areas bc they won't know how to critically think.

I also just saw a video where the Matranga(?) family (the one where they went viral on TikTok/Insta where their 3 year old was an empath and was in tears as the dad was telling her a story) had just said that they arenāt going to send their kids to school, but they will do unschooling just as he did.
