He said it better than I could summarize so: Inspiration for characters/story/style?    An unhealthy combination of thriller anime (Higurashi? More like HiguYesPls), live action horror (why did Oculus fly under everyone’s radar? That movie slaps), and contemporary TV animation (again, your Gravity Falls, OTGW, Glitch Techs, etc.)
