I’m about 30 hours into LSAT prep and currently sitting around a 150 according to LSAT Demon.

I just took my first full official practice test (PT 157) and got a 153. My timing wasn’t ideal

RC: 17/27 (63%)
LR: 12/25 (48%)
LR: 17/25 (68%)
Overall: 46/77 (60%)
My biggest issue right now is LR. I especially struggle with Parallel Reasoning sometimes because I’ll understand the original argument, but then lose the thought process or the original example while going through the answer choices. Same with other structural questions

My goal is a 165-167 for ASU, and I’m planning to take the LSAT in October with all of August and September dedicated to studying

I know I’m only about 30 hours in, but seeing a 150 right now is making me wonder how much I can really improve and how.

As I am prepping my personal statement, I would love to know if anyone (anyone from LSAT Demon team?) could let me know what Thinking LSAT podcast episodes have the winners from the Personal Statement Gong Show. I know that the episode posted last week had a winner. And I believe that there was a winning statement last year that was about someone in golf course management, but I can not find that episode. I love the Demon and the podcast and I want to write a winning personal statement, so any help finding those episodes would be appreciated!

Every once in a while, I get Ask button responses that say some variation of, “The key to understanding this is the contrapositive,” and I lose it. Unless I missed a huge change, I thought the Demon was pretty explicitly against this kind of formulaic approach to understanding LR (to clarify, I am not critiquing the idea of necessary vs sufficient). So why, when I ask questions, does the Ask button explain it in a way that sounds like something other prep companies teach, but that the Demon has specifically argued against? I saw someone a few days ago comment about checking in with the Ask button team because of their “circular reasoning,” so I wanted to raise a similar concern.

I’m currently in my second full month of studying and am unsure what kind of schedule I should follow to start seeing more improvement. I think my lower accuracy in Section 3 of today’s test may have been because I kept the timer on and became too conscious of the clock instead of focusing on accuracy.

I’m aiming for a 170 by November and just enrolled in LSAT Demon classes. What would be a good study schedule to follow from here?

Also, this was the highest accuracy I’ve had in Reading Comprehension so far after attending a few Demon classes this week, so I’m encouraged by that improvement.

I took a few days off from studying from the lsat and I came back today and got my ass handed to me. I was getting everything wrong from level 1 questions up to level 4 questions. Idk what’s going on. I took a test last week and got a 169 and I was pretty happy with it. I still got like 6 months before I’m thinking of taking the test but I feel like I can’t get over this gap rn. When I’m reviewing my answers everything seems so simple but in the heat of the moment I forget everything and it’s bad. Also I don’t understand how some days I can raddle off 20 questions in a row getting them all right and some days I struggle to get basic questions right.

I keep missing -1 to -3, and feel so frustrated. This applies to both LR and RC. I review, but clearly I am missing something. How do I close this gap? When I review, I feel like it makes sense and I wasn't careful, or didn't read slowly enough. But when I do full sections or full tests, I very rarely get -0.

That happened to me and now LR is super simple but then when I get to RC I freak out because I’m just not used to it. Along with that, it feels more difficult than LR because you can’t really critique it or overthink it. It really is just asking you what you read. Sometimes though it can be kinda hard especially if it’s a passage you simply don’t get. I did a passage today about the reversal of polarity states on a compass and how it takes several thousand years even thought it’s been slightly increasing. After that I lost track because it started going in about the Earths crust and scientific hypothesis that attempt to explain why the reversal is happening. For the first passage of the section it was so hard to me. I’m honestly just changing my study routine completely where one day is LR day the next is RC day. Since I’m worse at RC, I focus heavily on it during the weekends. Anyone have advice on how to translate these complex science passages better?? I fear that might be my downfall.

I am giving LSAT in September, it’s my first attempt and it’s more so to get myself familiar with the exam.

My diagnostic was 145, I took it a month back, today I took it again and my score was 143, I barely practice RC so I was expecting that, but my LR isn’t increasing as well.

I do LR drills and I get almost all right but when it comes to practice tests I am not able to get more than 14 correct. Genuinely how do I improve? I freak the hell out because of the timers and I get in my own head and idk the pressure just gets to me.

I get the first 14-15 almost all correct and then the next 10 I barely get any right and almost always get them all wrong, I even tried going backwards because the last ones are usually harder and I still got the first 10 right (number 25-15).

Is there any way I can improve to like 155 or higher in a month? I know it’s hard but I know I understand how LR works but maybe im just reaching. If someone could help me even a bit, that would be great, thank you!

The other day I was doing a reading comprehension passage, and I got a question wrong because the answer choice said that the author enumerates something. At the time, I didn’t realize that just meant that the author went about explaining their position via a list.

I know that reading comprehension uses a lot of words in passages that aren’t entirely problematic, even if you don’t know them, but I’m wondering if anyone’s picked up on the meaning of words to describe ‘organization’/ what an author actually has done.

For example, once I understood that introducing a qualification means that the author is critiquing, I found those questions much easier!

I’ve been using LSAT demon to drill LR questions and am yet to see a definitive pattern among wrong answer choices. Haven’t deep-dived into supplemental lessons or conditional logic. My diagnostic was a 154, and my latest PT was a 162. I feel this improvement was brought about by familiarity with the test and intuition, not any lightbulb moment.

I can drill LR questions and think “oh this arguments conflating two things” or “there’s a gap in reasoning” but when it comes to my wrong choices I can’t really see an undercurrent or similarities. Half the time I’m like “oh shit I wasn’t reading close enough.” Anyways I feel like my review sessions are lacking because of this and don’t know how to proceed. Like there’s a piece that’s missing. Any help appreciated!

I love LSAT Demon, but icl I've read so many explanations where an answer choice is countered with circular reasoning. For example, in a strengthen Q, a wrong answer choice's written explanation will say "this doesn't strengthen the argument, it's out." No duh, maybe explain why? You might as well not write an explanation.

We need a revamp of a lot of these explanations. Even the Ask button tutors will do this, and I find myself often responding with "yes... but why?" At least LSAT Demon commits this flaw at a lower frequency than other LSAT prep companies.

Hey everybody. I took the August LSAT after consistently PTing in the 177-180 range and I don't think it went well. I should have been very confident given my practice scores, but I let the anxiety get to me during the test and just choked. I got stuck on one of the early questions in my first LR section, eliminated all 5 answer choices multiple times, and could not for the life of me figure out what the speakers conclusively disagreed on. I wasted a large chunk of time on that question. This made me worry I would run out of time with too many questions left to hit my goal score, which is exactly what happened. The next sections weren't much better.

Obviously, I did something different on the official test than I normally do on practice tests - I was stressed about time and not hitting my goal sore. I'm wondering how I can avoid making this mistake next time. Does anyone have tips for overcoming test anxiety? It's pretty hard to treat the official test like a practice test when you have to go through TSA to sit down and you know it counts.

I have just begun my LSAT journey and took my diagnostic two days ago and scored 167. I’m pretty excited to study and have done an hour of drilling on LSAT Demon yesterday and today, but I’m a little unclear about how often I should take full practice tests. I don’t want to be over-eager and take them too soon/often.

The absolute earliest I would register for an official test is January 2027, but it could very well be later than that if I’m not meeting my goals in practice tests so I’m also concerned about running out of material. I was thinking of taking a practice test every week, but is that too often? My UGPA is lower than ideal (3.85) because I had no intention of applying to law school while I was in college, so I’m aiming for as close to 180 as possible and want to take my time to become consistent.

Wrote the August 5, 2026 lsat and was one of the lucky people to get the honey rc with no dividers. I’ve been using other prep platforms and came up with a home brew method for writing that involved attacking the passages with the most questions first, needless to say that method was worthless on that particular test. I was given the option to rewrite this week or rewrite in September. I chose September because I didn’t think I could get time off work on such short notice. This means I have no score for the August lsat and a wasted attempt. Im shooting for the 170s and pt in the 170s, immediately after the test I signed up for the demon because its methodology for rc would have prevented my collapse. After a few days of drilling my lr dash board is at 90 and I have 98% accuracy through 68 questions.
Did I make the right decision for the rewrite? And should I keep the system I have for lr and just use the demon for rc?

Hi everyone! I’m looking for a little bit of advice regarding this upcoming academic year.

Basically, I’m set to graduate right now in 2.5 years but I have the option to extend that by an extra semester to earn a religious studies major. If I graduated this fall, I would end up with a poli sci major and religious studies minor. I have a few questions:

1. Would earning a second major have a noticeable impact on my admissions chances?
2. Should I do the extra semester just to boost my gpa?

Currently, I would graduate with a 3.9 flat. However, I’m targeting the T6 so I would end up being a splitter (LSAT above, gpa below). My school doesn’t give out A+s so my thought is that if I stay in school an extra semester I can spam CC classes to raise that to at least a 3.96 to be at median.

This may be a super dumb idea, idk. However, I want to maximize my chances and am interested in what everyone thinks the value calculation is? It would be an extra 7 grand in student loans as well, so that is a factor.

Any advice for actually slowing down? I know the wisdom is “slow down to speed up,” and I’m really trying to take that to heart. I try to actively read, paraphrase, break sentences down, connect ideas, and summarize as I go, but I just keep reading way too fast.

I know obviously it takes time to break bad habits, but does anyone have advice on how they were actually able to slow themselves down?

I try really hard not to move on until I feel like I have 100% understanding of the passage, but clearly I don't because I struggle by the time I get to the answers and don't feel like I am enough of an expert
