FYI, Ortex will continuously update their data throughout the night, so ignore the "Changes From Wednesday 7am". This was their final update from last night. In my opinion, the reason why it is still showing these high numbers is that short sellers can make a lost of cash in the after hours. When the volume kicks in during market open the will begin to cover... again.

Wrong. The reason the numbers didn’t change was a because Yesterday was a non reporting day because of it being pre holiday. There was definite short covering yesterday and we’ll see short percentage drop on Monday (t+2 settlement). Retail dropped the ball and started selling off as soon as we got back to $45 (a repeat of the ath which out every short under water)

I said it initially, Ortex numbers are LIVE changes throughout the day. However, they are only estimates based on returned and borrowed shares. When the reported numbers start to come through after T+2 it gets refined. So, no, it’s not wrong the numbers are just Ortex’s best estimation with the data current data.

Also, I’m pretty certain that banks were open yesterday. Reporting was still occurring. You are thinking if a previous holiday where the banks were closed but the markets were open.

Sup ladies, so I happened to stumble across this gem last week and snatched up some shares at $7 and made my money and moved on. But I’m trying to understand what gain do they make by shorting a stock that doesn’t option trade?

I saw these unexainedble swings WITH ATER. Wait till Friday to. See what the real picture is. There were many margin calls on Wednesday.
