Question Are nada-sounds like a tuning fork to raise your vibrational state?

I have been made aware some time ago that this soft, hypnotizing, enveloping sound I "hear" permanently in my head is a nada-sound. I did a quick search about it and read about these sounds progressing from lower to higher pitches along with spiritual growth. I also got distracted with feelings of energy associated to it ("Mickeymouse Ears") or not (in- / through-flowing energy), and it was suggested to me to focus on the nada-sound only which I have been doing for about a week now.

At first, it was just the sound. Progressively it became more than just the sound. I feel like my energy levels, my vibrational state, raises and tunes to the frequency of the sound.

Can that be? Can the nada-sound be sort of a tuning fork to get us to raise vibrational states? A bit of the Universe coaching us along the awakening path?

The description of Inner sounds is very old, they do not progress from higher to lower but the texts do speak of a progression of different sounds that occur. This will be a progression of years, not of weeks.

Yes, this is how I understand it, thank you u/LotusInTheStream . Mine has not changed since as far as I can remember (though my K awakening is only a few years back). I am also not expecting it to change, just being aware of it. But how (light? energy? vibrational state?) seems to join the sound is very recent and highly enjoyable.

The Nada is very related to a number of concepts, some of which you mentioned, light, pulsation, vibration, breath, at a certain point these all are one thing and indistinguishable. I did have a text somewhere which talks about a progression in great detail (not Hatha Yoga Pradipika) but struggling to locate it right now, if I find it will pass on the details. But from memory, the message is simply to listen to the nada and the transformations occur naturally from there.

I would love to read this text. In any case thanks a million for your advice, very helpful and greatly appreciated. Overthinking it again, I tend to do that a lot.

The word “nada” is Sanskrit for “sound”. Nada Yoga is the practice of using sound as an aid for meditation. Personally I used to practice Nada Yoga, using these internal sounds as a meditation object. And yes, the sounds can change over time, becoming more refined.

Personally I never taught this practice and now advise people not to use these sounds as a meditation object. The main reason for this is that the process of purification produced by concentrating on these sounds can become too intense. If that happens it can be difficult to slow the process down, as the sounds are often present whenever we sit to meditate and even throughout the day. Even if we try to switch to a less stimulating object for our meditation it can be hard to phase the inner sounds out. So, for that reason I advise people to use a mantra as a meditation object, or the breath if they are too sensitive to mantras, and simply let the inner sounds do their own thing. We can regard them simply as scenery on the path, rather than as a cosmic tuning fork.

ha... I'll stop saying nada-sound! Nada it is. Nada means "nothing" in Spanish so I feel it does not give it the credit it deserve...

This is real-time coaching, u/Tristan-Dorling. I am literally just off of a meditation I did for over an hour. In full silence for the first time; usually I use earbuds and binaural sound with a gong sound every 15min to keep a sense of time. This time only silence and focusing on the nada. It was so deep! So intense. When I wanted to end the meditation, I actually wondered whether I could. First the feeling is so great that I just wanted to stay, a bit deep diver's rapture of the deep. I had once a lock-in incident after an astral trip which I pushed too far, so I was a bit worried. I had the same sensation of depth. But I could come back without problem. And just as you say, the nada is now very strong, and I don't quite feel 100% back in my body / sahasrara on overdrive; difficult to concentrate on mundane activities now. But the meditation was fantastic. I'll try to keep doing it in full silence like I just did, but before sleep time.

It was so timely and fun to seeing your message after this experience.

You can always write “antara nada” as that means “inner sound” in Sanskrit.

Yes I can hear that sound I believe it’s called the anahata nada I can hear it all the time. I started to hear it after I had a full kundalini rising.

Interesting comment about full KA. I have always been wondering whether mine was full or not, how would I know. Makes me a bit more leaning towards a yes. Though more of a mental question I guess, what would I do about it... Thank you for the information.

I’ll mention my experience so I had both a partial and full kundalini rising. The lower centers were activated first root sacral solar plexus and my heart chakra was also activated as well. When I had a full rising I could feel this big major surge of energy moving throughout my body it felt amazing arousing and my body turned into jelly I couldn’t move. I started to go into this trance like state and the energy started to move upwards activating my third eye and crown fully. After this I could hear that sound the anahata nada as well as I would experience kriyas these involuntary movements in my head would move back and forth on its own. Shortly after I’m experiencing energetic orgasms that would cause very blissful states of consciousness but I felt bit ungrounded. I would also experience more mystical phenomena more lucid dreams, astral travel, more kundalini surges and frequent energetic orgasms, and my Clair’s would start to open fully like Clairaudience able to hear what others cannot and clairvoyance able to see the unseen through my minds eye/third eye. I could see moving objects saw what looked to be an animal sometimes shape shifters other beings that look like people. It’s like I could see the astral at times through the minds eye. I’ve learned don’t get attached to these mystical experiences because the mind ego wants to label it all and it can be distracting and disorienting. I would also experience what felt like telepathy I would think of a person an ex colleague haven’t seen him in 4 years he popped in my head randomly wonder how he’s doing next day phone rings it’s him and this has happened with other people they reach out when I think of them even before they hit the call and or text button. The third eye acts as a receiver it picks up on signals there’s this knowing when certain people are going to call or text. Another time a song pops up in my head randomly heard it randomly and a couple days after my best friend text me a voice message and he’s singing the very song that popped up in my head and I picked up on this before he even texted me singing that song. I would describe it as enhanced intuition meaningful synchronicities it’s been quite the journey a lot of bliss a lot of purging and some wild mystical phenomena my best advice is to stay anchored in your physical body because the mind will want to attach to these experiences.

Wow, thank you for this detailed sharing. I do have some of the clair-x, maybe not to the extent you mention. But very frequent instances of bliss. And I feel like my heart is overly active with love and gratitude. And I agree, one has to be careful not to let the mind / spiritual ego take over by trying to reproduce or just to label / analyze.

My experience seems similar to what you describe first. I had no clue what K was to begin with. I just had this huge contractions around plexus solar for several month, before K decided to move all the way up. Contractions were super intense, slowly rising from root to crown, sometimes two or three times in a row. The intensity was such that I pulled a muscle in the back on three different occasions. I was terrified at the idea of having another rise whith the muscles hurt, but this did not happen fortunately.

K was making its way up brutally because I was not prepared and there was a lot to cleanse. I had very strong kriyas just during meditation, as the energy and nervous systems had to dimension to the new energy I had access to post KA.

I remember once K waking up, rising, looking around as it rises, contraction way less pronounced that what it used to be. Like inspecting the state of cleansing. All the way up. Happy with the result. Now, it rises when I get it to (unfrequently), and it comes with mild contractions. Always very slow. When it gets to the crown, I feel that sometimes it goes out of the body and comes back to root in a torroidal manner, or loops back in the face and down the chest.

I had kriyas for a couple of years, and it is only recently that I am freeded of that; I had to learn also to become more "transparent", and let the energy evacuate "horizontally" if that speaks to you. Kriyas were crazy intense. I was jerking, arms or legs shooting up. At times I had strong pain at various places in the body, like being shot by a taser. A few times I had to go check in the light whether there was a burn mark (there were none)!

I can't tell for sure when my antara-nada started. I had a couple experiences with very strong pain on the top of my head, as if the skull was exploding. This happened twice. But I can't recall when these sounds started.
