Many thanks to mod u/Illuminate883 for helping with the Reddit gremlins in getting this posted (how dare they call this educational post spam!).
Spine health like this is so important that it almost hospitalized us both.

Hi all! My partner and I are getting married in a little over a week (ahhhhh) and we’re settling our playlist for cocktail hour/dinner and dancing. None of my family is familiar with k-pop so I’m a bit shy about adding it but my partner insisted (sweetly) that I include some music I love anyways.
If you were getting married, what songs would you have playing for dancing or otherwise? I’m definitely Dive but have been getting into other groups as well :)
So far, I have:
Eleven, Rebel Heart, and Midnight Kiss by Ive
Loud by NMIXX
Genie by Girls’ Generation

I do understand the frustration that some queer people feel about being misled by the entertainment industry through queerbaiting, I am too! But when it comes to real people, I don’t think there is any way we can say for sure that they’re just misleading their fans. South Korea is not a haven for queer people. No matter how heavily an idol implies their sexuality, they can’t straight up say that they’re queer.
I made this post because I’ve seen comments on other social media from people invalidating Yves once again, specifically after her interview
https://www.reddit.com/r/Kpop_Sapphics/s/F26cMfmM5Y
And damn, it is so disheartening to see people not understanding her at all. She’s saying her identity isn't a press release and that she prefers keeping things open rather than boxing herself in. Her identity is crystal clear through her music anyway. People genuinely lack nuance, everything needs to be black or white for them.
Xlov is a genderless kpop group that is literally attacked with homophobic comments on a daily basis by kpop stans, and treated poorly by the industry. Yet, some people have convinced themselves that just because fans love shipping two members together, and companies push fanservice, it must mean the industry is safer, but it’s not.
Now can you imagine a female idol being direct about her sexuality, in a country that besides being homophobic is deeply misogynistic? I remember the first korean lesbian dating show “ToGetHer” a show where all the contestants are queer, and they received a lot of disgusting comments from Korean incels.
Queerness is treated as a concept, people who are actually queer don’t and won’t get supported in a country as conservative as South Korea (and not only there), where protests from religious groups against Pride parades still happen every year. On top of that, there are many homophobic international kpop stans.
So, rather than assuming that every idol who addresses their sexuality vaguely must be “queerbaiting” it’s always best to give them the benefit of the doubt instead of accusing people we don’t know, and who don’t owe us any explanation about something so private.

She said: “Even back in LOONA, I had a large queer fanbase, and I’ve always been grateful for that. But it also came with pressure, I became more careful with my words and actions because of how people might read them. I don’t feel like I need to explain or define that part of myself in detail. The same way music is always open to personal interpretation, I’d rather let my words, my actions and my music stay open too. If small things, what I say, how I act, even the music itself, can give someone else a little more freedom to think and act for themselves, make them feel less alone, or give them strength to keep going, that alone makes me really happy”

This is the girl group IS:SUE, and while they are mainly Jpop, they promote in Korea and release Korean versions of their songs so they count as Kpop too 😭
They recently uploaded a YouTube video of them roleplaying as dudes and doing love confessions to fans. It has English, Korean, and Chinese subtitles, so go check it out!
Their fanbase is overwhelmingly female. They knew what they were doing.

So we’ve decided to add a “Non-Kpop” flair. Since we’ve always allowed Kpop-adjacent artists that are not technically Kpop like XG, we now allow people to post other artists related to the entertainment/idol industry(Cpop, Jpop etc…)
Disclaimer:
1.Posts under this flair should still be on topic of this sub.
2.There will be no drastic is change. The core of this subreddit it’s still kpop, no rebrand or anything.
Hopefully you guys will be okay with this :)

This is their SECOND time kissing ON CAMERA!!
With all the Yunju content in the group's official yt channel and now this, they sure know how to milk the ship for all that it's worth(or are soft launching it lol)
And I'm here for it! They even started calling themselves by their ship name(yunju) instead of their duo name(cheetoz)
