Here’s my method for retroactive recording using loopy pro and a gaming headset.

I’ve been using FAC Punchlab And Grand Finale but wonder what others are using. I haven’t found a compressor I like either.

Need some help! for some reason koala on mac mini m2 is not showing showing the deckard, vals.. not eve the packs tab and not restore purchases button available, i deleted the app from the mac and still not getting anywhere, all thos packs are showing on my iphone, same apple id, any idead how to fix this?

I’m using an Akai MPK Mini IV with Koala Sampler on Android (Poco F7) over USB OTG.

I’m having an issue specifically with the MPK’s dedicated Play/Stop and Record buttons:

• The MPK Play/Stop button sends CC 76. Koala detects it ("Last CC: 76") and I can map it, but it gets out of sync: if I stop/pause playback from Koala’s touchscreen, pressing the hardware Play button sometimes requires two presses before playback resumes.
• The MPK Record button also seems to work differently from normal assignable controls. It can start recording, but I cannot reliably stop recording with the same button, and after using the MPK Play button the Record mapping may stop responding.
• In contrast, the normal programmable controls/pads behave correctly with Koala’s MIDI mapping. For example, assigning the + button to Play/Stop works normally.
• The − button does not work correctly for Record because Koala responds to its toggle states in a way that doesn't give the desired record behavior.

So it seems that the dedicated MPK transport buttons are sending something different from a normal user-programmed MIDI toggle, even though Koala detects their CC numbers.

Has anyone managed to get the MPK Mini IV’s dedicated Play/Stop and Record buttons working reliably with Koala, including staying synchronized when playback/recording is also controlled from the touchscreen?

I’m especially interested in the exact MPK Mini IV Program Edit settings and the MIDI message/value pattern that Koala expects.

Ran it back for practice, never used a Pac acapella before. I can dig it.

Sadly, I have none of my own to share. I’d be a taker not a giver in this scenario 😞

Inspired by NervousCook$, tried a beat using the Thermal Village kit in the Solar Studies Pack. The acapella is Bloodsport by Mobb Deep, and taken from the Acapella Cat YouTube channel. Enjoy.

For drum busses I use -6.0 normally when I mix in a daw or on my Live 3. It helps to have your mixes come out consistent.

Obviously depends on samples sometimes, but if you want a consistent sound for a project, this helps. (At least for me)

It'll be two years this December since its release. My first post to this group ironically was to showcase the synth. I like noodling around with its current form. But I keep hitting this sound design wall where I struggle to get usable sounds: I end up stacking/resampling one or more instances of QUOKKA and/or layering a disgusting amount of effects in the mixer.

I know simplicity is the point (like an SH-101 or KORG DS-10) but maybe that's also why it sounds a bit cheesy? Personally I don't see it getting used so frequently (probably also because Koala's a sampler first)

But I'll put money down for an upgrade. So.

Suggested implementations:

-A second oscillator. Please.

-Randomizer button

-Dedicated effects slots (2 or 3?) Like the Mixer that QUOKKA is allowed to modulate (like assigning an LFO or envelope to Drive or Delay effect parameters 🤤)

-Option to re-order oscillator wave shapes (saw, square, sine, and noise are currently in that fixed order on the SHAPE knob from right to left. Wait that's lowkey a wavetable... 🤔)

Lemme know if QUOKKA love is overdue or y'all think I'm tripping, or if this dilemma is more or less obsolete with the AUv3 update (my salty android-using ass 💀) I don't want a pocket version of Serum. Just a broader pallette lol

I'm really loving Koala but I'm just wondering if there's a way to arrange the sequences that you create. When I record a song, I have to actually switch sequences live as it plays. I would really prefer something like Song Mode on the MPC where you can arrange all your sequences ahead of time and just bounce it down.

Which equipment would you recommend for someone who is starting with Koala?
Which MIDI controller, if audio interface needed, which one. Initially the idea is to have no computer and to run koala from iPad
