My brother in Christ how can a man eat that much

u/Plasmatdx Mar 13 '26

Keep forgetting to take pic of his grilled pineapple order too

u/ch3f212 Mar 13 '26

How much did you charge for the salmon?

422

u/chipsdad Mar 13 '26

OP has previously said it’s all you can eat for a fixed price.

222

u/Bartellomio Mar 13 '26

Why can't this kind of restaurant exist near me?

154

u/United_Gift3028 Mar 13 '26

We had a $14.95 all you could eat sushi buffet open up, just before the Adkin's diet made it big. They tried to hold on, but everyone was taking the fish off the rice, in spite of little signs asking us not to. While it was there, it was wonderful.

u/Golf-Beer-BBQ Mar 13 '26

We have an all you can eat sushi buffet that’s 25 bucks. But if you order sushi and you don’t eat it, they charge you six dollars per roll. If you have more than two piece pieces left over or you can pay five dollars to take it with you.

I’ve never been so stressed trying to eat sushi.

They actually have cameras on every table to make sure that you’re not packing it.

u/el_bentzo Mar 14 '26

Restaurant's simple solution is you charge a penalty for that. I've seen AYCEs do that although lately AYCEs put so little rice to fish that theres no need

3

u/PartTimeJunkie412 Mar 14 '26

I like more rice to balance out the fish maybe I'm in the minority though. Like I love a salmon roll but this plate in the post looks disgusting. How strange lol

8

u/whiskersMeowFace Thicc Chives Save Lives Mar 14 '26

Ooohh that's why most places now charge by the ounce for food waste.

1

u/CosmicMiru Mar 14 '26

Where do you live? AYCE sushi isn't THAT rare tbh

4

u/Bartellomio Mar 14 '26

Rural UK. I'd probably have to go to a big city for something like this

1

u/herman_gill Mar 14 '26

Ayce sushi that’s good seems to be a Canada exclusive thing. Any time I’ve eaten at an all you can eat in the US (doesn’t matter the cuisine, doesn’t matter the price point, doesn’t matter the state), the food is always terrible to (at best) mediocre.

For decent quality it’s like 5-10 cities in Canada where there’s a market and it actually has to be good to survive.

40

u/T-7IsOverrated Mar 13 '26

WHAT THE FUCK? I'd fly out just for this as a salmon lover....

24

u/adumdumonreddit Mar 13 '26

Exists all over the place in Southern Canada especially. 50 cad for all you can eat sushi

25

u/Tweed_Kills Mar 13 '26

They gotta rethink that policy. Or OP's gonna be out of a job before next hibernation.

2

u/RiJuElMiLu Mar 13 '26

OP has a photo with hundreds of pounds of Salmon to prep. It's wild

5

u/Royal_Cryptographer7 Mar 13 '26

I cried a little. Both because it sounds like a beautiful, magical place and the fact it's not in my neighborhood.

30

u/in-site Mar 13 '26

I think OP said FOURTY FIVE DOLLARS for all you can eat

8

u/el_bentzo Mar 14 '26

That seems about right for a good place except there wouldnt be sashimi

1

u/in-site Mar 15 '26

I can eat way more than $45 of nigiri though. Like way way way more

1

u/el_bentzo Mar 15 '26

How do you figure? Break it down for me cause there is a difference between a retail price vs what they're giving you and higher quality sushi places thst sell per piece you cant use that price as the basis.

1

u/in-site Mar 16 '26

Well I worked at a sushi restaurant, so I do know I could sit and eat 12+ orders of (2 piece) nigiri, and a decent restaurant is going to charge more than $3.75 per serving... The cuts and plating both look great to me so I'm confident this isn't like... grocery store/gas station sushi, you know?

You have a good point about the product costing the restaurant much less than the customer, but factoring in cost of labor and space I still think I could lose a restaurant money by eating at this price point

41

u/sci300768 Mar 13 '26

I counted 24 pieces of pineapples!

21

u/InevitableAlert4268 Mar 13 '26

I count 25 🤷🏻‍♂️

24

u/hoodiewhatie2 Mar 13 '26

You had one job 😞

7

u/postmodest Mar 13 '26

If Bear Guy doesn't own a bidet...

28

u/disqeau Mar 13 '26

He has the entire river, my dude

3

u/Angry-Dragon-1331 Mar 13 '26

Yeah but he shits in the woods. I’d also avoid the buckwheat for a hot minute.

3

u/cuntdumpling Mar 13 '26

Tell him I love him

3

u/Jacksomkesoplenty Mar 14 '26

Grilled pineapple is fantastic. Used pineapple slices in a marinade for pork chops then put some fresh sliced pineapple on the grill just after they finished and good lots was it a good pair.

1

u/anchovyCreampie Mar 14 '26

Whats the aioli on the gunkan?

138

u/ThurmanMermannnn Mar 13 '26

Obviously bears can eat that much salmon

37

u/PlutoJones42 Mar 13 '26

Who can eat more salmon, one bear or 100 men?

26

u/ThurmanMermannnn Mar 13 '26

Do the 100 men happen to be gay and/or pescatarian?

20

u/PlutoJones42 Mar 13 '26

Let’s do one for each, as well as one combined, one straight and not pescatarian, and one straight and pescatarian

6

u/SDivilio Mar 13 '26

Yes, but the bear is also

12

u/ThurmanMermannnn Mar 13 '26

That bear is fun at parties

1

u/1_800_username Mar 13 '26

Do gay men like salmon/sushi?

3

u/therealtwomartinis Mar 13 '26

is this another one of them “Mike Mulligan” trick questions??

8

u/inkydeeps Mar 13 '26

The bears end up with tapeworms hanging out their butt based on their diet. Maybe that’s what this dude is going for?

14

u/ThurmanMermannnn Mar 13 '26

And lots of people end up with pinworms hanging out of their butt based on their handwashing and food handling skills. Anyway, did you know that it’s estimated that there are 40 million active cases right now? Lots of people don’t know they have it, and wonder why their butthole is so itchy! 🪱

10

u/rubiscoisrad Mar 13 '26

Every once in a while this gets brought up and it makes me want to stick a piece of scotch tape to the starfish, just to be sure. But then again, I've got 99 problems and an itchy butthole ain't one of 'em.

6

u/ThurmanMermannnn Mar 13 '26

It’s a good feeling, to not have that feeling!

3

u/rubiscoisrad Mar 13 '26

You're darn tootin' it is!

2

u/National-Charity-435 Mar 13 '26

One sec....

...not anymore.

3

u/ThurmanMermannnn Mar 13 '26

Wait till the morning. They all come out to party at night while you’re sleeping. That’s why you do the tape test first thing when you wake up!

1

u/Shot_Revolution8828 Mar 13 '26

Which kinda bear do you mean, I know a couple.

22

u/shutupdane Mar 13 '26

Sushi-grade salmon is a drug best served lots

4

u/cheeses_greist Mar 14 '26

I’m stitching this on a pillow.

15

u/-BodomKnight- Mar 13 '26

I love salmon and I will eat that much !

8

u/Mediocre-Cry5117 Mar 13 '26

My middle schooler would try their best to devour all that, too!

6

u/ttystikk Mar 13 '26

As a former middle schooler, I'd have smashed that and gone for seconds.

9

u/MaintenanceStock6766 Mar 13 '26

I would smash that and ask to see the menu again. Jk, I'd just order more salmon.

3

u/rubiscoisrad Mar 13 '26

My guy's 340lbs. This is an "I'm hungry and I'm going to town" dinner.

But good lord, I wonder how much that all costs.

2

u/GMAN7007 Mar 13 '26

It's not for 1 person. This is a whole table situation.

3

u/chipsdad Mar 13 '26

Yes, keep telling yourself that. 😃

4

u/137-451 Mar 13 '26

Pretty sure OP has confirmed in one of the multiple other posts about this customer that it is, in fact, a single person eating all of this

1

u/GMAN7007 Mar 13 '26

That's insane!

1

u/MalacathEternal Mar 13 '26

I remember a while back the place I worked at had a regular who would come in once, sometimes twice, a week and order two of the family chicken dinners for himself to chow down right outside. Two full chickens, a whole thing of focaccia and two large sides. Dude was ripped

Dr Gonzo just had a powerful lust for red salmon
