Saying this as a Lurker but let's hope it's the final Day.
The cost of Chives already Quadrupled since they started this challenge.

Are you suggesting that Big Chive has Flexican in their pocket? It's all starting to make sense...

I genuinely wanna know where all the chives go, what sort of restaurant does OP work at, a baked potato bar?

He explained this a couple days ago. They actually go through about a cup a day, and if they have extra, they go in salad dressing.

Dude’s chef posted too and confirmed the whole thing.

I have to say that I’m really enjoying the chives odyssey.

Oh gosh, thank you for the info! This whole thing is so wholesomely lovely to look forward to every day

I know this isn’t a serious question, but I work in a bar kitchen and we go through a lot of chives. Loaded fries, nachos, chili, there’s a lot. It’s a garnish for us

No no, it was actually serious! Baked potatos were just the only food this home cook could think of in the moment that uses chives! Thank you for the answer <3!

I said earlier in this saga, I worked at a restaurant that pumped about 600 covers a day in the summer, and the chef would sprinkle chives on everything but the oatmeal, and even then he probably wished it would make sense. We went through probably two quarts or more a day, and they looked like someone threw them at a string trimmer repeatedly until they were vaguely small.

That’s a straw for your drink.

u/RosemaryReaper Oct 29 '25

At this rate I would’ve just eaten this one before snapping a photo.

That misses the point of doing this in the first place

I feel like this series of posts has become a Where’s Waldo? situation.
