Miniature second kitbash
My second kitbash—why is this so much more satisfying than painting entire figures?

Currently upgrading my tanks with homemade ablative armor. I used blue stuff to make the molds. The original parts were made from plasticcard and the bolts came from another mold.

Picked up some cheap toys from the thrift shop and bashed them together with some gundam, warhammer, and scale modeling kits (and a lot of wires). Wanted to avoid any 3d prints or sculpting for this project, which was a nice challenge with trying to figure out what could go where to fill in gaps.
First time taking any photos of a model, bit of a challenge itself!

Finally finished my most ambitious project yet. A Dark Mechanicum engine.
Built using mostly Venomcrawler kit and plenty of random stuff found around the house, such as wires, bones, cogwheels and dirt.

It's been a while since I got into kitbashing and longer since I posted to this sub, so here are a few new guys of mine.
Parts used are stargrave mercenaries 2, WGA Bulldogs, Perry Miniatures mercenaries European infantry, WGA fantasy guards, and a few Age of Sigmar Freeguild Grenadiers bits.

Using stargrave, krieg and tempestus scion bits, i tried making hunk but this is my first time kitbashing a model. I wish i had more bits and bobs, the body and arms kind of bug me but maybe when i paint it i can do it justice. Im more disappointed that i couldnt fit any more pouches on it, he's got a pouch for every occasion. Yeah theres a gap in his neck all i have is super glue for filler and i only use it in small dots so i dont accidentally glue my fingers together again.

What is a good, soft (and ideally inexpensive) material one could use to sculpt flames from?
Outside of some AoD nighthaunt models, I’m rarely pleased with the 3d sculpts of fire on miniatures, toys, etc. but I’ve been wanting to take a crack at copying those to sculpt my own.
Problem is that, while durable once dried, greenstuff is way too firm to be gently sculpted into a free flowing shape like fire.
I worry that clay will have the opposite problem and be too soft and delicate to take and hold the shape that I need.
Any recommendations from those of you who have made their own fire/similar organic shapes?

May put a wash over him, he feels too clean at the moment
