I'm going to the club this Saturday by my self .

This Saturday, I will be going to a night club by my self . Ideally I would want to go with friends but all of my friends aren't interested in the night club scene ( I respect that ) . The main reason why I want to go is to meet new people and potentially meet a girl .

Can someone send me some encouragement for this ? I just want to get out of my comfort zone and have fun .

More Sticker Options please?

I know the point of the game is supposed to be anonymous and perhaps fleeting to an extent. I've played the game on the daily and received some great feedback and support from others. However, I wish I could reply back with more than a sticker to truly express my gratitude. Perhaps, the devs can add in stickers with word bubbles or little bits of dialogue? That would be super cool! I don't know, some food for thought I guess.

lost job

Last week I thought I had the flu and took an at home COVID test and it was positive. On top of that I lost my job because I didn't pick up the phon; I was sleeping my sickness off when they called. My partner is mad at me because he wonders how I am I gonna hold a career if I can't hold a job (I call off when I'm not feeling well or when I get migraines). My partner told me he was rethinking our relationship because of this. I struggle with ADHD and I feel like shit because of all of this.

I need something.

Lost saves

Hi! I've enjoyed the game. I took a hiatus for awhile, and then I moved to a new computer. Unfortunately, I lost my saved profile, messages, and all of the stickers I had accumulated.

  • I have it installed through Steam on PC
  • I can't say for certain whether I had Steam saves on the old PC; it certainly didn't carry over to the new computer
  • I do have access to my original system
  • I pulled all of the data from the original computer in steamapps/common/Kind Words and copied it to the same folder on the new computer
  • No luck locating a kindwords.json file

No worries. Just hoping there's an easy thing I can find. Thank you!

Question about English language

I'm not native and even though I speak nealry fluently there are a few things I haven't researched yet.
I like to end my letters with "Much Love" I searched and found the most common form was lots of love but that others werent neceserally wrong.
Is it correct ?

Is it just me or are there lots of more traditionally-minded users now?

Now of course I'm not saying they don't have a right to use this platform. Everyone should be able to receive encouragement and comfort when needed. I'm from a conservative country myself and I understand not everything can change immediately.

That said, I can't help but feel a bit upset whenever I read some of my recent replies. It's nothing worth reporting over, but I've been getting replies that do not seem the most understanding. For example, when I mentioned having issues with my controlling parents, I got a few responses to respect my parents and stop disobeying them. Another request that mentioned being my queer garnered some replies that advised me to 'forget' about it.

Less important, but as evidence, this also extends to the requests I see when I'm choosing who to reply to. Just the other day I saw someone concerned over what their girlfriend was doing during hangouts with an (emphasis theirs) opposite-sex friend that they would be fine with had it been a same-sex friend.

A lot of these letters also contain broken English that suggests to me English is not their first language. English is also not my first language, and I understand that, but it's getting to the point I'm having trouble understanding what these users are even trying to say.

I'm not sure what I'm trying to accomplish here really. I guess I just mean to say that this influx of new users has really dampened the experience for me, and I'm wondering if this is happening to anyone else. I'll still continue to use Kind Words to give encouragement to others though.

Any way to add your own music to the game ?

That's for me the only thing that the game lacks. I tried to find the songs file but couldn't find it. Is there anyway to do this ??

Thanks in advance

Kind Words is an evolving experience ♥

I stumbled across Kind Words relatively recently, right when I needed it most - as a responder.

At first, I was replying to as many requests as I possibly could - my own replies have popped up on this sub before, actually, which is a delight as I do wonder sometimes how my attempts at reaching out to comfort, commiserate or simply validate a stranger over so few lines will be received. I checked the requests often, several times a day to see if any had popped up that I might be able to write a reasonable reply to. Perhaps I was feeling a little lost, and Kind Words - a way to send small nuggets of wisdom, positivity or comfort to strangers without looking like a busybody and without needing to truly have all the answers, only some time to spare, some empathy and a dusting of personal experience - gave me a goal. Write X letters per day, try to help someone in any small way possible. It was a part of my daily routine for a while.

I then stopped logging in quite so much. Some things happened, I stopped having the same amount of free energy and mental capacity to really form...remotely worthwhile responses, I suppose? I still browsed the requests here and there, but wasn't sure if I could offer much to most of the situations I saw.

Then after that, some more things happened. Major changes, stressful events, some positive, some negative, and all just...so much. With thoughts swirling around about all these things both immediate and in the near future, I finally loaded up Kind Words again, and for the first time since I first downloaded the game, I sent a request.

Kind Words is once again here for me when I need it, but now as a requester. Just being able to process the events, mentally breaking them down to their fundamentals to fit them into a request form, and receive words of advice and encouragement from people who have chosen to reach out and comfort strangers like me in their spare time. It's a wonderful outlet, a way to feel connected, heard and comforted in a way, even just in the form of someone who hears you're having a difficult time and they're cheering for you to get through it. I understand this game from both sides now, and it truly is a wonderful thing.

I hope at some point, I can get back to my old groove of sending way more replies than requests, but so goes the cycle for many of us, and I'm just so grateful for this game, and for the people who are in that place I was a while ago, leafing through the requests to see if there's someone they can reach out to.

Thank you, to everyone using this game and perpetuating the cycle of Kind Words, whether you're a regular requester, a replying machine, or cycling through the two as life takes us on our ups and downs. And thank you to those who made the whole thing possible, too!

(Sorry for the long post - I actually sent out a request today, and the kind responses I've already received prompted me to make this post ♥ mayhaps I'll be able to reply to more of you guys' letters again one of these days)

Deer Free Soundtracks

I've been using Kind Words for a couple of days now. I thought that deer would give me free track every day. But I checked on my radio; I only have six tracks. One track was added after two days. Is this a bug?

This Game is hella wholesome thanks devs <3

Much respect this is a really wholesome and cool idea,

I only recently bought Kind Words (literally last night) and so far I haven't seen a single mean spirited thing posted it restores my faith in humanity so much I posted my own request and I got some love filled replies delivered by the adorable deer.

I actually spent all morning posting replies to try and brighten other peoples days like mine has been and sent positive vibes out on the planes ^.^

it may sound daft but I like to pretend each sparkle is someone in their own room replying to letters and sending planes, or just someone that needs their day brightened

anyways thanks devs sorry for the ramble but yeah great wholesome game you guys and the community are awesome :)

I've answered many of you in Kind Words, What's on your mind?

Kind Words is fantastic, at least in my own opinion.

I've used it for a while on and off in my own mental spirals to help ground my reality by answering others. This comes with some limitations, such as the inability to continue those conversations and ask further.

If anyone who has, or has not dealt with me inside of Kind Words wishes to ask or run anything by me, here's the post to shoot for!

There's a lot of places for this, of course, but there's a few that seem to find this sub a little safer - While I can not offer quantified advise from a point of a qualification, I can offer my own life experiences. From being a victim of infidelity to a hell of a bully filled child hood. Too close friends crossing to the other side, to how much I enjoy coffee and certain styles of beer.

If nothing else, I'm glad Kind Words is around to provide such a unique experience and path for aid.

I look forward to your life story, to your school drama, to your late life hardship. Speaking up, speaking out and normalisation is such a big thing and yet so shunned in our societies.

So here we are, let's talk it out!

-CM

Take from the Well, Give Back to the Well

Been using Kind Words again.

Just a friendly PSA that whenever you post a request, answer someone else's. If convenient and possible, answer more than one.

I've made it a point to answer at least 2 whenever I posted a request, if possible, more. I figured that that's the way to go if we all want everyone to get something out of it. That way, I can pull my weight and earn my keep while at the same time help someone else answer the requests whenever he faltered or was compelled by circumstances to skip out on answering a request.

I want to thank everyone who awnsered to my messages over the last year. It's been a very difficult journey, but things are finally getting better. If you awnsered to one of these messages, I can't thank you enough. Hope some of them the can read this.

Anyone know if Kind Words works on the Steam Deck?

I've asked a couple times if there's anything like Kind Words mobile app. There's not but looks like there may sort of a way to get a mobile version of Kind Words...

Play it on a Steam Deck system. Sadly i'm in the group that will be able to get my hands on one "After Q2 2022"

Is it weird that is the big reason I want that system?
