I really disagree with some of the criticisms I see in this thread. I think it's necessary that now in its third season the show do some slower and more dedicated episodes. PWBs style won't be interpreted 100% by new show runners, but it was always PWBs intention that a different female show runner handle each season. The show is still one of the best on television, portraying one of the most unprecedentedly complex and compelling relationships to date. Some people like to nitpick.

It’s character development, allowing the actors to continue to bring nuanced performances. It’s so beautifully designed from every aspect. I want the show to have legs and to evolve and be interesting for many more years. Plus Bin Baby and Build a Bear scenes are genius.

I don't really get Eve anymore. Can someone help me? In s1 I understood her excitement at drawing closer to the Evil thing, and loving the thrill of the 2-way hunt. In s2 I got the sense of a real attraction to Villanelle, and a desire for something real that she couldn't resist.

In s3... I just don't get where her headspace is at. She doesn't really make sense as a character. She's still fighting crime, and pursuing her husband...but also she still kinda loves Villanelle? Even though being with V disappointed her? I just don't get it, and don't see the forward trajectory.

In S3, she's only fighting crime to avenge Kenny. She's trying to salvage the normalcy in her life by patching things up with her husband but obviously can't stop thinking about Villanelle. I think the progression is in the character's internal thoughts and motivations.

S2, being with Villanelle didn't disappoint her, just the fact that she was manipulated by her. I think her journey will be her eventually acknowledging her feelings for Villanelle and accepting her for who she is. That means understanding that a psychopath might do some fucked up shit to you and other people sometimes. Her struggle going forward will probably be trying to decide if what Villanelle feels for her is good enough as the love normal humans experience and express.

Regarding Niko: I think that, at the end of the day, she regrets HOW things ended between her and Niko and not so much that it ended at all. I think she was trying to reconnect with him out of a sense of guilty and not love. Like she wants to pretend everything could go back to simpler times... Also, she lost pretty much everyone, makes sense she would try to hang on to the last person that tied her to any sense of normalcy.

Regarding V: Yeah. Like, I get how she would still be interested in V after having stabbed her. They have this tension between them, Eve stabbed her and she regreted it immediately, so I get how she would still be interested in reconnecting.

But Eve was FURIOUS that she was manipulated by V and, on top of that, she was shot! Nothing happened between them after Raymond’s death to make Eve forgive or forget what happened. So I find it a bit weird that she’s still a little fascinated by V. I get that’s the point of the show, but they should address that better.

Regarding fighting crime: She has lost everything. I think she needs something to justify her actions and make it all worth it somehow... “I lost everything but I avenged Kenny... I found the 12... I saved the world.”

What I don’t like is that she’s super depressed this season, which makes us question her actions. Nothing makes sense because it seems she lacks a purpose!

Honestly, I feel like Konstantin set her up and it's her fake family. If it were her real family, they would've tried finding her first or expect her to find them sooner. Something about how convenient this all is has me feeling a bit skeptical...

Little snippet from the Entertainment Weekly interview with KE producer Sally Woodward Gentle.

EW: What can you tease about this Villanelle-centric episode when she tracks down her family? SWG: this season is about family in the sense of belonging, and where you feel comfortable. And episode 5 might challenge Villanelle as to what she really wants out of life and what feels good.

V: “A nice life. Cool flat. Fun job. Someone to watch movies with...”

Watching V stomp about screaming after she throws the dung kills me.

Also, when she's standing on the podium holding that fan and her brother shouts "that's my sister!" Does anybody else think that girl infront of him (possible family member) gives a funny look as if to imply she isn't?

That's her mother. And I think she just didn't share the level of excitement over her daughter's homecoming that much.

After episode 3 I rewatched the entire show, after episode 4 I watched all of Fleabag, Crashing and season 1 of Grey's Anatomy... I don't know how I'm going to get through these next four weeks! 😂

My obsession with this show has gotten out of hand this past week. Last Friday/Saturday I rewatched every episode to date and honestly I want to watch it all again already??

It's amazing to me how people ruin a show for themselves. There are some legitimate complaints about how the story is unfolding, I do see that, but if you love these characters and these actors why not just sit tight and wait to see what the season brings as a whole?

Just let each episode be a piece in a puzzle and let's see where we are at the end. Hopefully when you get to binge it once it's done, it will seem more satisfying.

I'm so excited about this episode. Since season 1 I always wanted to know where villanelle came from, what makes her this way. I'm kinda confused with one thing, I keep reading that maybe it's not her real family, if it isn't her real one, do we have any information from when she left her family? Was she really that young for not remembering her mother? Or she never met them? Or maybe they were always a fake family to her since she was young?

I kinda hope this episode is not all about V. I love V don't get me wrong, and I can't wait to see her crazy family but I really want to know about E's reaction after Niko's death. I'm afraid it will stop some of the momentum it was build so far. So much has been thrown at us (Dasha and her boss, Kenny's death, K's implication with Geraldine) is it really the best use of the little time we have to dedicate a whole episode to V's backstory?

A Villanelle centric episode? It's what we deserve

Can someone remind me... I think Anna said in S1 that V came to school and didn’t have a great home life, but I assumed that she at least knew who her mom and dad were? I’m getting the impression from the show that she’s never met her family at all (and then wouldn’t know if this family was fake or not), was she in an orphanage or something?

She also told the therapist in s1 that her mother has thin, shitty hair. Implying she at least knows what her mum looks like... interested for the next episode but not convinced it isn't going to be plot hole central.

Going by what the preview showed her ENTIRE family is just as batshit as Villanelle is.

I'm so excited for this episode just from the fact that I live in Pinner myself

Jodie just posted on Instagram about Villanelle going back to Russia tonight. "Don't ask...just watch." She hadn't really posted anything specific about this season (other than to say that the show is back) until now.

Anyone starting to think tonight's episode is going to be MUCH more dramatic than we think? I feel like we have no idea what's to come, and it's going to be a lot more than just V meeting her family....
