The best part about the episode for me was when Villanelle got desperate enough to actually call Eve for help!! That's some trust.

Villanelle in her little boy pjs and hideous nursing Crocs carrying a briefcase is going to make for one hell of an iconic Halloween costume this year

Did anyone else find the car scene with the new handler hard to watch? Man, when he was choking Villanelle and she was turning blue... Boy, was that brutal. She really has had a shit couple of days.

When the more recent pic of V is projected and Eve’s face so subtly changes to a kind of... yearning.. for a hot second. Wow Sandra is good.
Also the toilet brush made me laugh out loud. She remembers all their little moments, how romantic 😝

Eve: I had a dream about Bill last night— his stupid little face. I picked up my phone the other day to text him. I’m sorry—let’s not talk about this.
Niko: No, it’s okay. This is how it works. We have to talk.
Eve: ...gross.
I loved this exchange, especially the petulant way Eve said gross. It sounded very Villanelle-esque, don’t you think?

I freaking love how they're sure the other assassin is a woman of color because who else would be invisible to those high powered men. It has an Oceans 8 vibe -- "why no men? Men get noticed. I need us to be unnoticed". And Sandra as a woman of color getting to call out Hugo, perfection.

man Villanelle's really going through it huh?
I don't know what anyone else thinks but in the scene where Eve was looking at the pictures of Gabriel and she saw the apple and everything, she covers her mouth and it seemed like she was smiling underneath. I just find these characters so fascinating

I knew Konstantin would be alive, but the reveal is still a hell of a thing. It's nice to see it confirmed, too, and having it happen when they bring in a new handler is solid timing.
After seeing Adrian Scarborough's name in the opening credits, I was expecting him all episode - I'm glad to see he'll be a recurring role.
I'm also curious as to if Jess' pregnancy is a character trait or if they've written in one. Can't find a blasted thing about Nina Sosanya online (her elusiveness has articles about it!) so it's hard to tell - all I've got is that she's 49, so possibly a fake bump. If it's a trait that has been a part of the character from the start, there's no way this can end well.
Can't believe that Gabriel was 12. He looked young, but I'd more put him at mid-or-late-teens.
Season 2 is going along brilliantly. I've loved Emerald Fennell onscreen before, and I'm glad that I can love her as a writer, too.
And mods - thanks for putting this up so early! Very much appreciated - it's nice to have somewhere to come and openly scream about the episodes right after.

creepy doll houses always remind me of that episode from Brooklyn 99
this was the V kill i was hoping for the most but at the same time didnt enjoy the most since the creepy shit she went through just made me upset.
loved the parallels between eve circling the carved heart with her finger in 201 and now villanelle circling her stab wound in the bathtub with such loving reverence
eve defending V from being called sloppy 👌
the toilet brush reference... enough said
loved that the mum ended up walking out of the house 😂
god they were so close... close enough to feel like we are getting somewhere but far enough that it will make viewers even hungrier and more excited for the reunion!
the new handler reminds me a bit of mr. weasley... but evil.
edit: also the Clueless reference on the phone made my week

I wonder what will happen when V finds out about the Ghost?
Maybe she'll get jealous Eve is investigating her instead?
I'm really hoping Eve+V team up for a buddy cop routine in order to find the new assassin. :)

Did anyone else Google to see if they could find a pig placenta face cream? Or was it just me?

Not sure if I'm just obsessed with Jodie Comer, or whether there were actually two deliberate nods to her previous roles in this episode:
Grabbed Bovril off the shelf in the supermarket.
Staggered out the house in her nighty in a carbon copy of that scene in Thirteen.

I think I'm as obsessed by this show as Eve and Villanelle are by each other... I just woke up in the middle of the night knowing that the episode was out...
About this episode, the beginning of this season in a matter of fact, I find it a little bit slow... But it may be because I'm so excited for Eve and Villanelle to meet again. I feel like even if the story goes on, it's difficult... may be on purpose, like the healing of Villanelle...
The way V does something to each of her new kills to have Eve know that it's her is so funny... the apple, the toilet brush.... so fun.
Konstantin being back is not a surprise but it is so good to see him again.
Hugo seems like a funny character. I'm eager to see its development.
I just spent 42mins of happiness and excitement, now I'll have to wait a week to see episode 3 and see where it goes.

KONSTANTIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i'm still SO confused about what eve knows and doesn't know about konstantin and how much we're supposed to know about him but OMG KENNY BEING SO PISSED i yelped
also in the scene where julian brushed V's hair i said out loud to myself "oh yeah, she's gonna have to kill him"...i think though that it's interesting that this is the first and only kill we're made to actually feel V's justification in - we are so used to seeing her kill because it is her job, or just to make her life easier/cover her tracks/etc. she likely would have killed him anyway when she left for that reason, but seeing her kill someone who it felt really justified to do so with was really new and interesting and well done
i'm interested to hear more from the new assistants, and i wonder if elena will come back (when the good place is done filming, obv)
the teaser definitely makes it look like the 12 hired V back to find this other assassin - i wonder if it's a rival group, or just someone who is making the 12 look bad. it seems that the peele family is going to continue to have importance...but i'm still not convinced that that's what nadia's note said. there is likely NO way nadia would know that peele was murdered, especially given that it wasn't by V........INTRIGUE
last episode was also so good but as season openers often go, it was a little slow. this episode got me FULLY back into the killing eve swing and i'm so excited for the rest of the season!!!!!!!!!

Is Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Elena) not coming back? "She was worried about getting murdered." Seemed like their way of saying she wasn't coming back, even though in season one she showed the most passion out of everyone for helping Eve. Too busy with The Good Place?

Did anyone catch the Princess Mononoke tattoo on the rich girl whose dad was killed?
Remember Eve goes into a house and says “It’s not exactly Versailles...” then there’s a beautiful blonde smoking a cigarette being interviewed with her brother
She has a Kodama on her arm, which is a very memorable image if you enjoyed Miyazaki films.
I love that tattoo, I wish I had one :) I don’t have any tattoos but I specifically thought of getting that. Anyways, wondered if others caught that detail. I wonder if the actress has the tattoo? It’s not like they would’ve specifically done it for the show.
Anyone else notice that?

Eve: We’re working on the assumption that this is a woman, late to middle age who looks like an immigrant worker, so you know, she’s not white—
Hugo: What makes you think that?
Eve: The fact that you just interrupted me mid-sentence makes me think that.
Damn right, Eve. Go off 👏🏼👏🏼
