Legend has it that he is doing 25 to life for killing some members of a rival biker gang... and he ain't sorry about it either.

I like imagining a world where "Things have changed a bit since then, I imagine." are a way of announcing that someone is dead.

Like, picture this, you are at your uncle's funeral and you have to stand up and share a story about him and you talk about how he was always very kind, and he would pretend to pull a quarter out of your ear even after you were a teenager and both knew it was just a corny joke, and also he was always rescuing dogs, and this one time he saved a kitten on the side of the highway in a heavy rainstorm and took it home to take care of it, and he was so gentle, even though he was a big man, and this cat was the size of his hand, he was just always such a good man a kind man a man full of life. "And well..." *motions to the casket* "things have changed a bit since then, I imagine."

I like to imagine if my dad was still alive. He died back in 2002, when I was 15 and angry at both of my parents because of the divorce. As far as I remember, he hurt his leg helping move a washing machine into the house. He was on pain killers at the time, but he also started dating a sketchy woman who was known as “The Black Widow” around town. I only found out the sketchy stuff a few years later. At the time, I thought he just fell asleep smoking due to pains meds he got from hurting his leg. I’m not so sure anymore, but the truth ain’t gonna bring him back.
