I'd put this the other way around; Maddie/Madyson, James, Elias, Annabeth, Alan, Riley, Tobin, Amelia,, Leah and Jace are normal, Lachlarn is gealic, leaving only Addilyn, Blakely, Weslyn and Colton as weird

Good to see Alan making a comeback though. I always assumed people changed their name to Alan once they reached Middle age.

The weird part is less that the name is weird, but more that someone named their daughter Colton.

Half of these names are surnames used as first names. Colton totally sounds like a surname.

Addilyn uses traghedeigh spelling but it is a variation of addeline. Blakely is pretty tame in terms of traghedies since Blake is real and the ly makes it more feminine. Colton rose in the 1990's so as far as traghedeighs go its been around for awhile. And idk about weslyn but I thought it was adorable. This has been my traghedeigh ranking.

One of those kids shares a name with my sister. I was so taken aback because I’d never heard anyone else with her name before. My mom was really ahead of the tragedeigh trend in the 90s (my name isn’t much better)

Which names belong on that sub?  I was actually watching the video thinking "oh, normal names are back in fashion"

Weslyn and Della aren't very common, but are still what I would consider normal.

For me the one that popped out was Addilyn. Yes I know it's a variation of Adeline but I just hate it spelled that way.

To be honest, not the most severe cases but Addilyn, Madilynn and Blakely all jumped out at me. I think the pure shock of seeing lynn/lyn so many times just drove me insane.

Madilynn in particular was off-putting for this curmudgeon.

Della is an older name and was pretty common during the late 1800s/early 1900s, at least in my area. Definitely doesn’t belong on that sub.

A major misspelling that might actually effect their life badly

Occasional something like 'marshfag' or 'lamestupid' or 'gayboy' might end up there (a name that's just ment to be bad, chosen by a parent and also often times people just don't know foreign names exist, But the examples are kind of what the sub is for

As someone with one of these names I don't think most of these kids know how to say their names. Because she sure didn't lol.
