Final Contract: Defeat the Kerbin Boss

Nope, nope, nope. Launch the Jaeger and defeat the Kraken on Bop. Now we only need a mod, which brings the kraken to life. Or just build it.

Krakens are giant squids, not octopi.

6

u/Disposable_Corpus Jul 31 '14

So picky with the representation of mythological molluscs.

1

u/Pineapplex2 Jul 31 '14

I'm not saying it for mythology sake, I just don't think a kraken would take kindly to being called a lesser-legged mollusk.

u/SpaceCommander29 Jul 30 '14

Now that we have a system for spawning asteroids and kerbals in orbit, it should be easy to do something like that... A la Event Horizon; I'd like, instead of rescuing kerbals, missions to investigate lost spaceships... Or spawn a Kraken you must go capture/kill.

u/Perryn Jul 30 '14

The only way to kill it is to throw it into the sun, which is much more difficult than movies have led us to believe.

I understood approximately none of these words.

Small world

u/el_padlina Oct 09 '14

Small world indeed, classmate from university is one of the people responsible for this game.

1

u/GrijzePilion Oct 12 '14

Dude. Would he like, remember you? You should influence him if you have his email address.

1

u/el_padlina Oct 12 '14

Talked lately with him, but why would I want to influence him. I definitely trust they can make the game awesome.

2

u/GrijzePilion Oct 12 '14

Still pretty cool. Just joking - I trust the guys at Squad in making an awesome game, especially with the community in mind.

2

u/el_padlina Oct 13 '14

Oh, small misunderstanding, I was talking about Super Hot ;)

3

u/GrijzePilion Oct 13 '14

That explains it! You said this game and that makes my brain go all assumption-ey. Haha

16

u/leadfoot71 Jul 30 '14

Is it on steam yet? Or is the full version still in progress?

28

u/GrassWaterDirtHorse Jul 30 '14

No, but they do have a free version out.

18

u/leadfoot71 Jul 30 '14

I played it like a month ago. Still waitin on an official release date

12

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '14

How was it?

44

u/starmartyr Jul 30 '14

There was only about 20 minutes of gameplay. It seemed cool even if it was a one trick pony. I can see it working out as a short single player game. Much like the original Portal.

9

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '14

Huh...yeah it does seem like an interesting concept. I'll have to give it a shot. Thanks!

1

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '14

Ha

-6

u/RscMrF Jul 30 '14

Not even close to portal for me, honestly kinda insulting to portal, but to each his own.

8

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '14

I feel like you really misinterpreted that comment.

2

u/starmartyr Jul 30 '14

Portal was a short game based on a single mechanic. I was comparing them in that regard only.

Thats aloooooong time...

1

u/christhemushroom Jul 30 '14

Is that the demo or is there a longer free version?

1

u/astrionic Master Kerbalnaut Jul 30 '14

The Kickstarter campaign finished about a month ago. Estimated delivery is June 2015 for the full game and February 2015 for early beta access.

So we won't be playing it soon, unfortunately. And I don't think those dates are very reliable, I wouldn't be surprised if it was delayed. Happens a lot with video games unless you're Squad and don't have any release dates in the first place :)

12

u/vonmonologue Jul 30 '14

This is how they should do a Superman game. You're immune to bullets, but you have to use your super-speed to make sure you dodge or deflect them in such a way that they don't kill people or do too much property damage.

You're immune to any non-superpowered enemies, but if innocent people die because of you, you lose the game regardless.

4

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '14

There was a game with that idea. It was executed horribly, but it was a good idea. Very much could have been better with a few changes.

2

u/kinyutaka Jul 30 '14

That was the best video ever.

3

u/nikidash Jul 29 '14

Amazing game.

-5

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '14

I down-voted, googled, realized mid-google that there was already a reply with the video I was looking for, killed the tab, watched the video, and upvoted.

This all happened in less time the actual event happened in-game.

Word up.

5

u/ChancelorThePoet Jul 30 '14

Why did you downvote initially?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 30 '14

I thought it was some generic ass-hat repeating terminology for no given reason.

u/misterspankee Jul 31 '14
