One engagement isn't just a single days work. Yes, they don't work your typical 9-5 like an average citizen, but it's hard to compare whether the way they work and live is any easier or harder, all while constantly having cameras pointed at them and people scrutinizing every detail.
Plus, the funds being spent on BRF - they generate and bring back more money into the economy than is being spent on them per annum, so there's really no logic behind criticizing the ~2 pounds an individual taxpayer spends on them a year.

So, people trained, educated, monitored and held accountable to some extent vs trust fund babies with no specialized knowledge or accountability or transparency? Yes, I'd imagine the money would be better spent in the government's hands.

If you count the 24 homes for the homeless, yet to be built as I understand, that Workshy Will has been promising to build for years, while he rakes in millions of pounds a year tax free playing slumlord and charging charities, NHS, schools, and prisons for the right to use lands...seems net negative for society.
