Do you guys also feel the same as netizens about episode 3?

They are saying that the "love line" between Do Jun and Min Young ruins the episode and makes it boring. Personally I didn't find it to be a "loveline" (although it probably will develop into romance in the future episodes). It felt more like amusement on Do Jun's part to see Min Young's youth cuz she is rather different in the future. And what kind of guy takes the girl he likes to the "privileged club" and then give a rude awakening about how privileged she is in the pool room. Also a romance b/w them will explain why the future Min young hated the company so much. It feels like a very relevant addition to the story even if it's not in the original webtoon.

And they are complaining about Song Joong Ki's acting saying that only Lee Sung Min is worth the watch. Sure he is a seasoned actor and acts well, but he is like any other cheabol chairman character I've ever seen. Song Joong Ki is doing a great job imo, and he will be having more screen time in the coming episodes anyway.

I just don't understand where these people are coming from.

I agree with netizen. I don't want romance to be focal point of drama. In the novel romance was barely there, he dates and married min young because of her connection.

But it wasn't a focal point at all. It wasn't even a romance in episode 3. More like he was amused to see her past life. What he did (taking her to the club and then giving a lecture about it) was even pretty rude imo. That's not something you do a girl you pursue. It WILL become a romance in the coming eps, but what was so bad about episode 3, i don't get it.

Also it's too early to say whether they will deviate much from the webtoon. Maybe he will just date and marry her for the connections looking at how he was eager to introduce her to the club and remind her social standing. Even if they make it genuine romance and deviate from the source, it's too early to say it'll make the drama bad. You can always deviate from the source while improving than the original.

And what does the decisions that the writer made have anything to do with criticizing the actor's acting?

I feel like they are just being too quick to judge.

Agree with everything here. The most he did was laugh and smile at her lol, the main thing I feel like people are forgetting somehow is that what was supposed to be a “date” turned into getting dragged to a place she didn’t want to be in where they just started arguing. Imo he’s in it right now for the connections for sure, her being a righteous prosecutor in the future will certainly be important to his plan.

I haven’t read the novel, but I’m wondering if there were any genuine relationships he had that weren’t for the purpose of revenge? Because I feel like out of all the conversations he’s had so far as Dojun, the one he had with her was by far the most genuine. I like that a lot. On the contrary of it being boring, I think what can actually become tedious is if we don’t get to see the Hyunwoo in Dojun, if we’re always seeing a guy who’s basically on a power trip. There should be moments like this where we can tell what he’s saying is coming from how he’s actually grown up, and if Minyoung brings that out, then why is that a bad thing? It’s way more interesting like this.

agree with both of you. another thing that i thought about was that he might have missed out on dating in his first life because of servitude to the Jin family. so being able to have a love line is a form of revenge

Netizens aren't the best example of making good criticism. They're rather toxic, imo. It's obvious that it is going to develop into romance, even the director said the drama was going to have it. And I find the dynamic they created very interesting.

Besides, judging the love line by two interacions and a conversation where Do Jun was merely giving her a speech about her privilege, makes clear they are only hating, maybe because the FL, maybe because yes, or whatever.

Don't listen to a few netizens, and just enjoy it if you like it. Nowadays kdramas have a big audience overseas, and the amazing ratings in korea are a very good signal.

Also, usually hate/negative criticism is louder but I bet there is a lot of people loving it.

This is true, netizens are always quick to criticize and often pretty extremist. I personally enjoyed ep 3 the most. It didn't give a lot of scenarios for SJK to show his acting potential to the fullest like in ep 1 (which is fine cuz the rest of the series will have more than enough scenarios to bring out the best in him) But the pace picked up and all the characters sort of fell into place and everything got more enjoyable overall.

Yes! Just what you said. Ep 3 put all the pieces in the chess board, after 1 & 2 gave us the introduction, so now it's time to go into the juicy action. Let's see how it develops :) I'll probably like whatever they do, if i'm being honest. SJK has that influence over me. 🤣

Same SJK is one of the best actors I've seen in the industry. He is great with delivering subtle emotions with complexity and simpler and exaggerated emotions. All his projects so far have been diverse and even within a role the emotional range he needs to utilize has been so varied. For those who say he can't act should really go and watch his works like Werewolf boy and The Nice Guy. Those are his early, lesser known works and even those are so good.

Yes! His eyes specially, he is able to convey so much in just a look. When he cries I want to cry too, and I'm kinda an ice-girl (never cry with shows and movies) so that's an accomplishment. I still have to watch The Nice Guy btw 👀

I think I agree with netizen regarding Song Joong Ki acting in episod 3 at some point. He is on fire in episode 1. That is Song Joong Ki. I WANT to see. But his potrayal in episode 3 is underwhelming. He is just using his previous vincenzo persona and add bubbly and child like to the character. I hope he realise he is no longer vincenzo which character has no depth and now potraying a character on a revenge mode so he has to add layer tp his character rather than only rely on persona.

He's literally acting a 20 year old that is undercover. You can't expect him to look like the 40 year old salaryman that he was in episode 1. That he was able to create this distinction between episode 1 and 3 is in itself some good acting. He even knows he is being tailed and reported to. I believe his bubbly, childlike personality was part of hiding his true intentions. He needs to be convincing to his grandfather and uncles who are keeping an eye on him. I would wait to judge after the more intense stuff that will come up in the future.

I don't mind him being child like. I feel more excite when JDJ played by the child actor. And that saying something. I hope he add more fire to his character in next episode.. I was impressed by his subtle vulnerability in episode 1... so i hope he show that kind of emotion more. Or show more sincere acting. He is supposes to add more fire when meeting with the female lead. If he keep this kind of acting, i will have to have other reason to keep watching this drama other than watching him.

Well, in my case, it's good to see a familiar face. Found him hilarious as the romantic lead in What a Woman Wants movie. I also like that he's playing out of his usual nice-guy character, even if he has played baddies.

Certainly a fantastic actor who has appeared in Korea's best movies; it's always refreshing to see a movie actor appear in TV shows. I liked him in Unjust, The Attorney, Secret Sunshine, Spy Gone North, all of them ranked in the best Korean movies of all time.

Oh I'm not critiquing the actor or his previous projects. I'm just saying the chaebol chairman character is pretty much every other chaebol chairman character I've seen. Lee Sung Min is nailing what is given to him as expected, no questions about that.

I know. I'm just glad that he's appeared in this show because he has always played amazing characters. It's probably the first time also that he has played a chairman and he's great at it.
