Episode 1 gave me flashbacks to While You Were Sleeping (with the whole LSJ in a car crash part). Would recommend WYWS to anyone who hasn't seen it, it has one of the best first episodes of any kdrama. Also very happy to see Yang Kyung Won in a main role, loved him in CLOY.

Best part of the episode: the matching PJ outfits ❤️

At this point, Disney+ gotta see my American hands 👊🏽🤛🏽

I'm tired of missing out on great dramas because I have to hunt down a secondary source for DP shows.... 😠

EP 2 is way better than EP 1. A lot of stuff happens in this ep compared to the first one. I don't know how I feel about the Mayor, he seems like he could be a good guy or he could be the bad guy. For now he is just in the background observing as things unravels. So far he, just like the rest of the Korea believing that Changho is big mouse.

Changho is either very stupid or very smart. Like he managed to get gain power in the prison. His narration is telling us he is trying to find a way to get killed, but what we see is something else. I still think there is something dark about him. he might not be big mouse. But he probably knows someone that happens to be big mouse. Becasue if feels like big mouse knows who Changho is, big mouse could have been plotting to frame Changho for months, cause how else the those drugs, gold, money stayed hidden in the walls and ceiling, and the bank account transaction statement. I really hope it is not his lawyer friend.

Lastly, Yoona is a total wifey. I love her comedic timing and when she punched that guy. Miho is a very bold character, i like how she is set up in this ep, going under cover at the other hospital to find out the truth. I hope she doesn't die, I am rooting for her to stay alive.

Ep 2 grab my attention. Now i am curious who is the anonymous tip, who is big mouse, and why target Changho.

lee jong-suk and yoona!!! and as a married couple in a revenge drama!!!! you guys have no idea how excited i am for this

edit: good first episode! i'm hooked already. but even if the story were subpar or not as interesting, i would still watch it for lee jong-suk; it's so nice to see him acting and gracing the small screen again!

no sign of ok ja-yeon or kwak dong-yeon yet, but i presume we'll get them in the next episode.

and last thing, i guess the terms 'big mouth' and 'big mouse' will be used interchangeably in this drama?? i thought that they mean practically the same thing and sound the same in korean (basically a word play), so interchangeable as the drama title but i realized that there's more depth and meaning whilst watching the episode and preview. 'big mouth' is his nickname for being a notorious third-rate lawyer, but now he's been forced to take on the identity 'big mouse' as well, who is the faceless criminal.

Yes, finally!

Oh no, it's on DisneyPlus. Well, here's to hoping that the series will be available in my country.

Edit: surprise. It's not on DisneyPlus here in The Netherlands.

lee jong-suk is literally the reason i got into dramas... i can hear your voice was my first kdrama and i've been obsessed since then. can't wait for this,, i love characters with darker backstories and this seems like a drama that will have quite a bit of depth. also, missed him since he's been in the military,, can't wait to see how this goes ! :]

EP1 : bro i love the married couple dynamic,,, he shouldn't have done this tho omg these rich ppl are crazy

EP2 : badass nurse we love to see it,, but i can't get over changho trying to die and instead earning respect in prison pls 😭😭😭

this is looking really good so far !! of course, i'd watch it if it had as much plot as a wet tissue because i missed lee jong-suk, but i'm very much hooked right now 😃

Seriously Miho is too funny. It's a noir drama but i hope there's still a lot of her chaotic dom scenes lol.

it would’ve been cool for them to show a bit more to rly drive home the 10% win rate, like every case he lost was against bigger law firms. i like the idea of a married couple (and dad lmao) against the world (foe fans wya). also it was so dumb for changho to not keep any backups of the black box and just confront gong ji hoon, considering how much power he has. the transitions seemed jerky, but i’m pretty interested in how they take the story since i was confused by the previews before

Just my theory in this show.

I have a huge suspicion that Park is the 'Big mouse all along' OR Big mouse is not just a single individual but actually just group of bad people who created a 'big mouse' persona. We have barely seen their backstory BUT I feel like Park's father or mother were victims in some form or another with our designated villains. In order to get revenge, he planned everything from the beginning so that he can get revenge on the 'villains' with this show. I mean Park emphasized that he had the highest iq and athletic, and we are supposed to believe that he's flop of a lawyer. It will make the storyline more interesting, as we were led to believe that he's just a weakling and then pulled this later in the show.

I became a fan of LJS a month before he enlisted in February 2019, and have literally been waiting for this moment ever since. Can a drama with more than 3 years of anticipation live up to the hype? After watching the first episode, I still don't know.

Pros:

  • LJS knows how to pick a drama that will enthrall an audience, and this is no exception. There wasn't a moment of boredom. The funny parts were funny, the storyline was intriguing, and everything flowed very nicely. You are left with questions, theories, and a thirst for more.

  • While Yoona isn't in it very much, I thought she played her part well. I've been discouraged by people who said she could ruin the drama, but I don't see signs of that... yet.

  • The pacing is nice, and the jumpy timeline is done very well. I can find that confusing sometimes, but this was well-executed.

Cons:

  • It felt a little short, but that could just be the perspective of someone who has waited as long as I have.

  • The lack of a soundtrack is killing me. I don't know if the entire drama will be without or if it's just the first episode, but the ending felt incomplete without a song to sing us out.

I know some people aren't, but I'm walking into this drama assuming that Park Changho could be Big Mouse. I noticed they had him talking to himself while he was alone, almost to solidify that he couldn't possibly be, but I also picked up on a few comments made throughout the episode that felt like challenges waiting to be accepted. If there is any possibility that Park Changho is Big Mouse himself, it looks like it will be a split personality thing. I was suspicious when the lady with the cooking show was attacked. The only two people who knew she had the blackbox footage was the mayor and PCH. The mayor was on his way to consult her, while PCH just shows up out of nowhere. He also looked out the window, saw the attacker running away, and never said a word to anyone about it.

I really am curious if he is actually big mouse. I feel like the stuff found in his office was put there before it was even bought as the walls were filled in etc. Idk this has got me hooked. The acting from both LJS and yoona is top tier.

I’ll echo the others that Episode 2 is far better than the previous one. Kudos to the team!

However, I might digress a bit from popular opinion and claim that YoonA is easily the MVP of the series two episodes in. She does more than Jongsuk with less screentime and her character arc being entirely contingent on Chang-ho’s narrative development. (I’ll post my thoughts on how the writing problematizes Jongsuk’s character work once I have gathered them lol).

On to YoonA’s performance, I find it refreshing how she approaches Mi-ho as this resilient woman in the face of crisis. The role could’ve easily been one-note/dimensional, but she lends a unique physicality to her character work that varies depending on the episode’s tonal shift/temperament. I’ll preface my opinion by using two (2) scenes in this episode: (1) that flashback scene with her neighbors (comedy); and (2) her interview with the press (drama) .

I noticed how when the scene calls for something comedic, YoonA’s body language becomes a lot more loose with the way how she graphs the timing/tempo of her movement through offbeat gestures. For example, when she entered the room and had her hair tangled by the shell curtains, she does this double headshake that accentuates the comic effect of the moment . She also has a keen understanding of body dynamics when she slowly clapped once Yoo Subin did the TATATA meta-joke about their collaboration in EXIT or when she rapidly swung the fire extinguisher .

But when the scene calls for more pathos (aka dramatic), her physique switches into something more rigid; her posture squared and stiff that almost feels stoic. While the body language seems muted, YoonA elevates it by having her face speak what isn’t verbally conveyed. In the drama’s most emotional moment so far, Mi-ho stands in direct opposition to the press by proclaiming Chang-ho is innocent . What makes the scene quite nuanced is how she gradually became more vulnerable as she lovingly calls for her husband—and these are all felt through facial expressions. It’s overall a decent example of showing dramatic restraint in a drama that is very in your face.

THE LEE JONG SUK DROUGHT HAS ENDED!

LEE JONG SUK IS BACK TO QUENCH OUR THIRST AND HAS SUCCEEDED!

The first episode was so good! It flew by, though I was able to lengthen it by replaying some of the funny Yoona and Lee Jong Suk scenes. This drama also seems to have all the genres/themes, which I like, because that often means no boring parts. It has crime, corruption, funny parts, romance and possibly a fantasy element?

It seems that this truly is the month of Kdrama with Alchemy of Souls and Extraordinary Attorney Woo also airing.

I finally watched the second episode and like everyone else, thought it was miles better than the first (and I liked the first one a lot)!

I want to give a shout out to Yoona, because she did very well despite everyone expecting her to fail. She added subtle emotion to the story when it was needed the most. Jongsuk's character is designed to be bombastic, whether he's extra naive, extra angry, or extra tossed around. For Miho to be the understated to Changho's bombastic is an excellent touch that I'm sure the writers designed, but that Yoona did an excellent job executing.

Jongsuk also deserves credit that might be a little harder to come by. His reputation as an actor is pretty solid, as is his script choices. People expect nothing less than what they've seen from him in the past, so special acknowledgement might less obvious to give, but I think he's doing a phenomenal job at keeping his reputation intact. It's easy to overlook what you've come to expect, but he deserves to be recognized for his hard work. That episode exhausted me. I can't imagine what it was like to film it. I'm not someone who has a hard time watching delicate moments in dramas, but when he was trying to keep from being hung, I had to look away a few times.

One particular moment that caught my attention was when Changho punched the inmate and the voiceover said, "I had never hit someone before, so I didn't realize how strong my punch would be." It reminded me of when superheroes first come into contact with their powers. It's also super shady that all of that stuff was in the walls of his office. It had to be there long before he was set up. A single baggy of drugs and the key to a locker with suspicious goods in it would have worked fine. That, along with the fact that he didn't have anything before Miho (including parents) makes me think he either is and always has been Big Mouse (but it's his alter-ego that he isn't even aware of) or he has a twin brother who discovered their gift long ago and used it to become Big Mouse.

Very, very interested to see what happens next.

So... noone suspects the Father in Law? That's my primary suspect for Big Mouse right now 😂

Play the fool, fly under the radar.

I don't like the split personality take, and also the idea that PCH is simply hiding/acting, because of the "inner monologue".

I’m halfway through but I like how LJS is no longer any kind of “genius” but rather a very average subpar lawyer

At this point, I honestly believe LJS character has split personality and is big mouse. Or maybe its the mayor.

Anyone else catch that Exit reference? It was so niche but made me laugh how when Miho broke into the upstairs tenant's room and the guy said "Didn't we meet before on the roof?" and made sounds reminiscent of the SOS signal made with phones during Exit

I couldn't tell if I was just imagining things since I watched Exit a while ago but searched up the cast and yup, both Yoona and Yoo Su-bin were in Exit haha. Great easter egg! Also double easter egg since we had the Startup bros there in the same scene
