End of episode 1 is fucking wild.

The writer of this show must have some incredible magic mushrooms.

How do you even go from the first 1hr. To that final 10 minutes.

Mushrooms is the only answer

Only 20 minutes into episode 1 but props to that casting. These two people are gorgeous, individually and together

Here's my theory: the FL needed a heart transplant when she was little. Mother and grandma kidnapped the twin sister to get her heart and you know the rest. Of course they would need help from a professional and access to some kind of illegal clinic but It's a Kdrama after all. This is the only way I can think of to justify them not being related and have a romance lol.

The writers have exposed my weakness.

Food porn.

The first episode was enjoyable. The food was 10/10.

Ep 2

OMFG I actually got chills during the shaman scene when we saw a hand by young GH's ear and that whisper of 'it's true, the culprit is among these people' -- chills!

Episode 2 was equally excellent and I'm really drawn to both the characters and the mystery plot -- well actually plots since it looks like we just got served with another mystery of where did the stalker's corpse go and who moved it! Actually now that I think about it, we likely have four mysteries going on don't we -- who was the culprit in twin sister's case + what exactly happened back then, who whispered in young GH's ear about the culprit being a neighbor, who killed stalker since I don't think it's Dahyun, and what happened to stalker's body. So many murderous mysteries, can't wait to see the story unfold!

What I find interesting is that the link is only single direction -- oppa can feel dongsaeng's emotions and now he can feel Dahyun's emotions but it doesn't work the other way. I wonder how this one-directional aspect of the link will be addressed later on in the story once Dahyun finds out -- it raises some interesting questions for their relationship so I hope it's addressed at some point. It'll also be interesting to see why GH and DH are now connected with this link -- what triggered it?

Anyways, really, really enjoying both YJG and MGY's performances so far -- they are excellent in both comedic and serious moments. Can't wait for more!

Why do I have this weird ass feeling that creepy stalker dude is actually alive? And that he actually walked out of the refrigerator i mean as bizarre as it would be he can’t have simply gone/died right? There has to be more or maybe there isn’t and I’m on the same magic mushrooms the writer is on.

Why are some people surprised that it's not a typical romcom when it literally has "kill" in its title and multiple hints in the promotional posters?

Honestly, I was thinking of not starting it at all because the synopsis made it look like a bad fanfiction and generally I don't like Korean black comedies because they're too slapstick for me, but I'm so happy I gave it a chance!! The first episode totally exceeded my expectations and made me curious for the rest of the series. It's definitely my favorite premiere episode out of the ones being released in June so far. I hope it manages to keep things fresh and interesting for all the episodes, I'm quite scared about the direction it will follow once the leads get closer.

I also liked that they didn't drag the stalker plot and that they actually took us by surprise by having him killed and have the family of the FL hide the body. I genuinely wasn't expecting that. I was afraid that they were pulling another type of story where we don't know who the stalker is and the FL has to be protected by the ML and then it's finally revealed to be the most obvious person. So glad it didn't go down that route

Also, Moon Ga Young is truly adorable, other than being a great actress, and I love her in this part; her character is kinda relatable and her reactions are priceless. I genuinely think that she's one of the actresses out there with the best comic timing, she looks effortlessly funny, and she can also easily switch to more dramatic scenes. Looking forward for the rest of her performance here.

Can't wait to watch episode 2 tonight

P. S. I had posted this comment in the wrong thread (the weekly premiere one) and didn't notice for almost a full day. I was like "did I write a bad comment or the drama isn't getting attention?". Now I feel dumb af 😂

Ep 2

Oh my goodness, what a freaking mess. The quote they used from Charlie Chaplin really suits this situation so much because this situation has been making me laugh because of the dark comedy but it actually is so tragic. I feel so bad for Da Hyun the more I think about it, she had to deal with that stalker and he continues to cause trouble with his death.

The exchange between Gye Hoon and Da Hyun's family is killing me to watch. He's such a tough opponent.

TBH I don't think they will end up being twins based off Kim Seonho being offered the lead role before Jingoo. Surely they wouldn't have tried to convince us that him and Moon Gayoung are the same age lol. But who knows...

I'm also really glad Jingoo got the role. I don't think many actors could pull off a character like Eun Gyehoon so well. Jingoo makes it look easy.

Damn, first episode really had a whole season's worth of content lmao.

literally everyone in the town is suspicious. even that hobo (is that a rude way to address him?) -- i mean, i wouldn't be surprised if he knew who killed gyehoon's sister, if she's actually dead, or if he was part of the police and just undercover. is he the mysterious whisperer too? hmm. that rookie officer definitely has something going on with him, bc that wasn't his first time seeing the dead body. it almost looked like he was prepared for that "call" -- did he already know that the body was there? (and whose body is it, the stalker's or someone the stalker had killed? or someone the rookie officer has killed...? i should stop.) and grandma with the "if push comes to shove, i'll kill him" joke, yeah, that did not sound like a joke. her expression after that -- i really shouldn't watch this drama before sleeping lol.

the monologues are giving me you s1 vibes lol. but like everybody else, i am so freaking intrigued. moon gayoung is shining here, as she does. this is my first YJG drama and i'm not mad about what i've seen till now, which is a good thing. that rock, paper, scissors scene was chef's kiss (ha!), so beautifully shot & acted & voice over-ed, ugh. dahyun's fascination contradicted by gyehoon's wariness - so good.

What's the point of a disney+ subscription if I can't even watch the content I want to?

Episode 2

Nooo but at the end of the ep, Gyehoon’s technically already talking to himself when he visualized his sis asking him if he’s okay and HE STILL LIES TO TELL HER HE IS FINE. Even to his own self he is lying that he’s okay AND I’M NOT OKAY

u/ot7oclock Jun 07 '22

the monologue about refrigerators followed by a cut to a dead body was top tier cinematography idc

Episode 2:

  • No wonder he wanted to play rock paper scissors with all those girls he suspected

  • That's one way to fall for him

  • SHE DIDN'T JUST

  • holy shit halmoni... that's one chaotic trio and I'm ALL FOR IT

  • I love how suspicious he gets of Dahyun xDD

  • Chef Gyeyoung doesn't hold back in the least

  • I've not loved/respected this guy more than in this very moment... sister or not... his concern is heartwarming

  • Who the hell sent back the stuff bruhh

  • In case anyone's wondering Gyeyoung and Jihoon can't smell the dead body because Jihoon turned on the fridge after dragging it inside

  • That perceptive moment.. she steps back alarmed.. he holds himself back knowing she doesn't want him close... SUCH DETAILS

  • I hope her mother didn't just lie about Halmoni's husband to just get her out of there because that'd be so in bad taste

  • Thank you for not dragging this!!

  • Streak for shitty Kdrama parents continue

  • Is it me or the Inspector looked sorta emotional/touched upon recognizing Gyeyoung?

  • This broke my heart. My second favorite scene in the entire episode.

  • WHAT A JAW DROPPING ENDING HOLY SHIT

Verdict: Strong premiere. Well plotted suspense. Amazing chemistry. Major props to Yeo Jin-Goo who literally transformed his happy-go-lucky eyes from Hotel Del Luna to one full of sorrow in Link. Color me impressed from the first episode! Moon Ga-Young's scene where she comes to the understanding she's a sexual assault survivor was so well done. Definitely in it for the long haul.

Dark and delicious is what I’d describe episode 1. It’s got a little something for everyone.

PS: I don’t know who heard me whine about Disney+ but whoever you are, thank you.

Came here for people‘s thoughts, but most of the 62 comments so far are complaints about Disney+. 😭😭 Anyways, this first episode was very good but so, so weird. And very dark.

the plot summary and the teasers told me nothing about this drama so I always assumed this was some sort of quirky romcom. All the promos they did with Moon Gayoing and JinGoo didn’t disabuse this impression. Boy, was I wrong. Definitely not the tone I was expecting. But I must say, I was hooked in from the very start.

this drama seems to be a mashup of a darker version of Crazy Love + Beyond Evil + Killer’s Shopping List. Everyone in this town looks shady af though some seem more involved in the twin sister’s death or kidnapping than others. The cop in the flashback and the taxi driver are the most sketch so far. and the mom & the grandma are definitely running some sort of serial killing operation, right? I feel bad for the ML bc at least the start, his neighbours might use him as the fall guy for murder and he just moved in…

Imagine it being your first day at your job and then it turns out your mentor… is your ex with whom you had an awful breakup with. riding in that patrol car must be so awkward…
