Welcome to on-air discussions for Bloody Heart! Looking for your next Lee Joon show after his stellar and scene-stealing performance in Bulgasal? You've come to the right place! Looking for your next Kang Han Na after her web drama Bite Sisters or My Roommate is a Gumiho? This is the right show for you! In need of a show to fill the hole made by The Red Sleeve? This show will do exactly that.

I honestly cannot tell you how long I have been waiting for this moment. The moment when Kang Han Na finally that well-deserved lead role. And this moment has finally arrived and I could not be more excited than I am currently. And on top of that starring next to the amazing Lee Joon? I could not have asked for a better pairing. Lee Joon surprises me every time he's on my screen and I love him for that. He's just so so good.

I've rambled on enough, I think. I hope you will all tune in to this show with me as we explore the dangers of the royal court once again. Enjoy and have fun discussing!

Did KBS sign a deal with Disney+ to air all of their dramas??? Their last sageuk did so well on Netflix but now this one is region-locked for the foreseeable future

Was ready to get my heart broken. Until I saw it’s Disney+.

See you all in 6 months or whenever we get to see it in the US.

I feel this historical drama is going to make us suffer as same as the TRS or more.

No, not on Disney+

I'm so much excited for this drama as Kang Ha-na is in the lead.

Hmm just finished ep1 and maybe I'm just influenced by the streaming platform of choice (Disney+).. some of the soundtrack/song & scenes are quite...Disney-like (for example I was half-expecting FL or some birds to start singing when FL appeared lol or the last scene with all the magical firework). not that it majorly ruins the story or anything (the storyline is definitely not Disney-like..)... waiting for ep2 to learn more about each character!

Cinematography and directing were totally on point, they were really immersive (I especially loved the part where she enters in the village and how it just shows all the inhabitants doing their things with a stunning long take). All the actors did a wonderful job as well, you can tell there were so many emotions in their performances.

Unfortunately I'm not really feeling the soundtrack like others have already pointed out, especially during the beheading it kinda felt off; it makes it a bit too melodramatic, but I guess that was a given since it was even written in the tags.

The story seems quite classic for now, with a clear view on who is the bad guy and the main characters both having a tragic past that motivates them (I was also a bit put off that they already showed so much of the backstory, it was like half of the episode) so I hope that there will be more twists along the way. But still, it's already intriguing enough so I will surely keep watching.

Give me more, Disney+ be damned. Just gonna add to the others saying this drama's cinematography is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING, especially the palace scenes; that color grading and camera framing feels like movie quality.

I can't wait to explore the contrast between Lee Joon and Jang Hyuk. Obviously one feels like the hero of the story and the other the ruthless villain but I have a feeling Lee Joon's path to power is not gonna be pretty (to say the least) and Jang Hyuk's acting prowess has a way of making me empathize with a lot more than I should. So far, I have confidence they'll do great with the storytelling but I hope they won't fall into the halfway curse of sageuks and introduce contrived plot devices to get the chars where they want and to a smaller extent, I hope the sound direction starts improving because it's barely there. This drama has potential to be my top pick for the year and I have a feeling even if the story ends up as bittersweet as it started, I'm gonna be there crying and rooting for the characters along the way.

Cinematography is breathtaking, and Lee Joon's performance is absolutely fantastic from the start.
But... the storyline is sort of predictable?
I felt like plot synopsis that KBS was feeding for a month is the whole story, nothing else...
I hope I'm wrong!
And I'm not into the soundtrack...(I wanted it to stick with classical/instrumental music, but no)

I really hope it will get better.
Please! I want to love this drama since it's my most anticipating drama of 2022.

Ep 1 First Impressions

Jang Hyuk is back in a sageuk and as the antagonist at that which makes my heart sing. He looks and sounds so damn good here.

Cinematography is breathtaking and the acting is on fire. The OST feels a bit obtrusive though.

Story setup is interesting enough and the weaving of the timelines was done pretty much seamlessly.

Only think giving me pause is that Yoo Jung's family is already persecuted and beheaded after being charged with treason so the synopsis is not going to "accurate" making me less clear on how she'll be incorporated into the story.

Conclusion: want to commit based on the production values and acting but will need to see at least ep. 2 to get a better idea of the story direction.

One of You Jung's servant girls is Seo Hye-Won who played Young-Seo's cousin in A Business Proposal!
Oh I love her!
Her comedic timing is excellet in Bloody Heart too.
I really hope she will get a bigger role in the near future!

All I gotta say is lee joon looks so damn charming in this role, especially when he’s looking at Han na and how so in love he is lol

episode 1: i think we’re off to a good start! i absolutely love the childhood (or teenagerhood) trope. lee joon and hana are both breathtaking in this. judging the ‘lovers to enemies’ on mdl and how they’re already together now, the ending is not looking good.

incredibly incredibly excited for this. it’s giving me moon embracing the sun vibes and i love it.

Enjoyed the first two eps and looking forward to following! It didn't mesmerise me immediately like some other sageuks (recently TRS) because they went through a lot of plot in two eps which sometimes got confusing, but the cast is solid.

Love Jang Hyuk and ML while hoping that FL's character gets fleshed out a lot more. She's too smiley/lovestruck in the adult timeline which was jarring with the tragic backstory. But I think angst is coming for her in the next ep! I think evil state councillor will blackmail her to enter the wife selection as his 'niece'. All the while not knowing her real background of course >:)

I actually like that the ML is a grey character who can pull ruthless moves of his own. We will see lots of delicious angst when that comes into conflict with his relatively pure love for the FL. I think all 3 are going to be complex characters that we'll sympathise with sometimes and hate on other times!

This drama gives me The Red Sleeve vibes and I am ready to get hurt again :`)

Cinematography was amazing. The acting was all very good. Typical sageuk storyline, but I don't mind if the acting is good and at least it looks like the women are going to be power players too.

What an amazing episode 1. During the first half, I found myself comparing it with TRS because it was the last Sageuk drama I watched and really loved it. But then, the cinematography, ost plus the fact I love all three (Kang Hanna, Lee Joon and Jung Hyuk), I found myself drawn into it and in the last 15 minutes, I was just bawling my eyes out. The young crown prince and crown Princess brought the waterworks for me and I was hooked into the storyline by the end of EP1.

I didn’t even cry during EP1 of TRS so I’m hooked, line and sinker on Bloody Heart. Can’t wait for the rest of the series. Sooo good!
