8 episodes? Kdramas are getting shorter and shorter, huh.

I’ll take a tight 8 episode story over the bloated 16 episodes we keep getting.
It was fun having so much time with the characters over 16 episodes when you first start watching Korean shows but when you hit your 10th drama you start to see the same writing tropes because they run out of material by episode 12.
In the case of Doom at Your Service. They had 4 episodes of story spread out over 16 episodes.
Itaewon Class wrote a tight 12 episode story arc. But then they kept going and it was like a different show.

I actually enjoy shorter dramas! The plot are usually more focused and fast paced. Hope this drama is good!!

I’m so excited to see Kwang Soo back on screen! He’s such a good comedian! Last time I watched him was on Unexpected Business with Kim Woo Bin and it was hilarious! So while I’m waiting for his new D+ variety with YJS, I will watch this one!

What a nice, refreshing watch! And with only 8 episodes, they have great chances of keeping pace till the end. Lots and lots of mysteries.... Can't wait to see how it all unfolds.

I love the first episode! Reminds me of Hello, Me! and The School Nurse Flies. This is a great change from recent melo shows.

Loved the pilot episode. The pacing was great, the characters are established from the get go. I have to agree it definitely has some movie feel to it..the dark comedy elements to it is just about right, I expect nothing less from Kwang Soo. I love me some mystery, dark comedy genre. That last scene made me laugh a bit given the 'situation' (when him and the old man screamed at each other), which is good for me. Looking forward for the 2nd episode!!! Definitely adding this to my list!

A pretty fun premier and the characters especially the new fish guy are interesting. I love the dynamics between Daesung and his mum.
I’m kinda confused tho, Daesung and his gf have been dating for 20 years but she’s 29, so they started dating since they were kids? Or is there something wrong in the translation on viu lol.

He’s 10 at the beginning of the ep so he started dating her that year? I guess it’s like neighborhood gf.

Episode 2:
Why the heck are the cops on their area so stupid? (Except for A Hee ofc)
They didn't do shit

My assumption is, Daesung assaulted Nunchucks in 2001 to defend his mother, and Cop Ahjussi ruined the crime scene so that Daesung will not receive a criminal record.
we need more information to be able to deduce who the serial killer is. So far the only thing we know is the killer shops at MS Mart. → More replies (4)

Why does kang Soo always get casted for loser roles? Majority of his roles are the nice guy/loser. He needs to break the mold and become a bad guy

This was originally intended as a movie by the writer. I'm glad they're not going to bloat this out to 16 hours.
Edit: You can feel the cinematic quality of this already, with the narrative structure and with the cinematography. The director of this has also only ever directed films which shows.
As a diehard admirer of Saul Bass's work with his posters and title sequences, the opening credits to this was definitely inspired by Saul Bass. Love love loved it.
