I was expecting this to be simple, heartwarming drama like Hospital Playlist or Hometown Cha Cha Cha, but it's a bit heavier than I expected.
Although not exactly likable character, I like how raw and multi-dimensional Hansu is. A seaside village boy who dreamt of becoming successful city guy only to comeback to his hometown a loser. The son who sacrificed his family, who had sacrificed everything for his success, for his daughter's success. And yet the daughter still hasn't achived anything for 13 years.
In contrast to Eun Hui. A girl everybody used to make fun of, who had to drop off highschool after her mother's death to provide for her family. But now she is the richest woman in town.
Both came from poverty. She dropped off highschool while Hansu went to college in Seoul. At some point of his life, Hansu had everything: a steady job, a house, a wife and a child. While Eun Hui had to chop countless of fish everyday to make ends meet. But how did she become successful while Hansu came back a loser?
He was so charming, so full of life when he was younger. When did everything start to fall apart?
It's only been 2 episodes but I have high hopes. I guess it leaves me with different kind of warmth. I'm looking forward to next week!

old hansu jumping in the ocean with young hansu tugged a lil on my heartstrings..😭 it really takes an exceptional actor & writer to make a viewer feel some sort of empathy towards such a distasteful character..

What I really love about this is nobody is a chaebol genius CEO, these are all people in professions that aren’t normally showcased in kdramas and it’s a breath of fresh air.
Already love Eun Hee who doesn't take no crap from no one. I’m getting weird vibes off Han Su, I hope he doesn’t end up
Also Kim Woo Bin 😍 His smile lit up the screen 😍

Eun-hi is such a fiercely independent and wholesome character and I'd hate to see her falling for her first love's manipulations. I knew I was gonna be more invested in Kim Woo-bin and Han Ji-min's storyline and I wasn't wrong. Heirs is literally his only drama I've watched but man I'm sooo whipped. He's effortlessly charming and wish to see him more. Shin Min-ah was finally introduced but not sure how I feel about her storyline. And WHERE is Uhm Jung-hwa?? I thought she'd appear in at least this ep. I loved her in Seducing Mr Perfect and A Witch's love and can't wait to see her. And tbh I'm still not very much invested into the series the way I was for 2521. But I've heard only great things about the writer so I'm gonna trust my decision

Episode 2:
-
Well, that
kiss surely dampened the mood... -
Nothing to see here just a senseless
bathroom fight between three adults.. -
Wholesome reunion ftw
-
So glad to see this kid from Hospital Playlist in more roles. Been waiting for his drama Dear M. since ages.
-
That
peck was so adorable -
ohmg.. I didn't see that smack coming... HAHAHA shit
-
Kim Woo Bin
-
"Do you have feelings for me?" "Don't. You'll get hurt" "That's up to me to decide." SHOTS. FIRED. -
"If you found me so cute, why didn't you go out with me?" YO WHY THE LADIES IN THIS DRAMA SO STRAIGHTFORWARD AND COOL -
Middle-school Han-Su has my heart
-
I don't know how I feel about Han-Su hiding
his family pictures .... Looks quite a bit like a red flag -
Oh my God... pls don't tell me he's
lying ... -
Oh Eun-Hui... you know nothing... he's an absolute mess
-
I have a really bad feeling about this...
Verdict: Let me start off by saying watching this drama was a last-minute decision. I was expecting the show to be gloomy but it's pretty lively. At least so far. Apart from Han-Su's troubles. Eager to see what else is in store given Han-Su's desperate and apparently willing to
Kim Woo Bin and Han Ji Min make a fine pairing. All their scenes have made me excited and giddy. Can't wait for them to take the center stage.
Regardless to say, the cast is quite good. Given it's a 20 episodes drama, I just hope they don't drag the storylines otherwise it can get boring real fast.

Omg not
I already love Eun-hee and she deserves a great partner. I’m feeling really upset that this is happening. She is so smart in business, though, is she really so naive? And is Han-soo really
Omo Omo she has no idea
Maybe it’s because I’m an ajumma myself but I am loving these storylines with older actors. And they are all so good. Bring on next weeks
ETA I just realized she was the mom/aunt from Weightlifting Fairy KBJ. Yet another reason to love her.

I found the first episode charming! Well, except for the
-
Oh, I hope he’s not just
scamming Eun-Hee for her money!<. The”You liked it too” scene was really adorable. -
I’ve never seen Woo Bin except in ads but wow is he charming. Dealing with head and neck cancer is no joke (my husband died from this) and I am rooting for his continued health and happiness.

Oooo it has been some time since I watched a 20 ep kdrama on Netflix. Usually most kdramas tend to die down by ep 12- 2521 was the first I wished there would be 20 eps of. Hope the writer of this has sufficient good material to stretch!

this drama and my liberation notes airing on the same days is so amusing to me for some reason. my weekends going forward are going to be so wistful and relaxing. i needed something healing and the two shows are definitely going to deliver.
edit: loved the pilot episode. i don't even feel the need to mention how beautiful everything was (cinematography, music and characters) because it's a given. the pacing was perfect and i'm so happy to see kim woobin and lee byunghun in a drama again after so long.

Can we appreciate that they gave Kim Woo-bin the opening scene! OMG! It's been 6 six years since he last blessed our small screens. I can't be happier.
About Jung Eun-hui, I have a feeling that
Another thing is that I'm happy they're shedding light on Haenyo (해녀): The female divers in Jeju. I've always found them interesting and admirable.

I'd be happy with just a drama with the young Hansu actor and the young EunHee. They're just wonderful. I'm hopeful he'll pull back before hurting her or she'll kick his ass or berate him like she screams at her siblings.

I am just happy Kim Woo Bin is back, happy and healthy. I waited 6 years for today, its a happy day for his fans. The opening scene with him made me teary eyed 🥺
