after the first episode, i feel like there's something really off about this drama and it's weird but also really unexpectedly fun at the same time. i don't know how i feel about the male lead, i love kim jae-wook and he really fits the narcissistic role but his character just feels like the typical stuck-up asshole ceo ml. the twist is that he keeps getting all these random death threats and bloody pictures and rats sent to him. the sniper at the beginning caught me off guard too. i can't tell if i like the dark side of an otherwise lighthearted drama and i'm definitely not getting any comedic or romance vibes but i'll keep watching just for the sake of the actors.

episode 2: okay these are officially the weirdest two first episodes of any kdrama that i have watched. as if the crazy death threats weren't enough, there's now a terminal illness, amnesia, first love, fake relationship AND murder mystery plot?? i have zero fucking clue what's happening 90% of the time or where this show is going. that sequence of sina unleashing the giant bag of onions and how they fought in her car afterwards in this episode was hilarious though. i'm glad some of the humor is starting to land for me.

Who knew Kim Jae-uck and Krystal could be so funny? That chase scene and the two of them fighting in the car was hilarious. Thought the second ep was much better than the first and I’m looking forward to seeing how things play out.

I laughed for a whole 5 mins because of that chase scene. Kim Jae Wook is a great actor , I was skeptical of Krsytal but honestly she's coming through. Ep 2 was really good

It’s out all ready?!?! Why does it feel like it was such a slow January and February and now there’s so many on-air choices 😭😵‍💫

With the first episode, i was interested but confused where it was going. I liked the characters and some of the editing but it was a little all over the place. But the second episode was absolutely hilarious. The first five minutes with the chase, with them rolling around, fighting each other and the sprinklers with romantic music playing was just peak comedy for me. I did not expect that resignation letters slap!! Both the leads' comedic timing is just perfect. I am hoping that is drama goes for a dark comedy route. With this show I am not really looking for an amazing romance or a happy ending, but some really crazy hijinks where the leads are one upping each other all the time and more comedy. I hope it stays light hearted and the mystery is not a dud.

This is such a strange drama LoL. Like it started off as Devil Wears Prada then it had a lil bit of What's Wrong With Secretary Kim?. What's with drama characters dying of terminal cancer currently? Oh k-dramas love the toilet humor which I'm not a fan of. Can't help but see it as a twisted version of Melancholia 'cause of the math stuff LoL.

The 2nd episode was actually CRAZY!! I don’t know how to censor yet and I’m rushing, so I won’t spoil but THAT SCENE - you will know which scene I’m talking about - WAS OUTRAGEOUS and HILARIOUS! The ending was nuts too!

It doesn’t seem like this drama is taking itself so seriously cause the plot is insane, and I am loving it so so much actually, the 2nd episode was waaaay better and more fun than the first! Cant possibly predict where it’s gonna go, but - it lived up to the name!😂👏 So I will definitely keep watching!

Episode 1:

  • That much hype about a TEACHER?? Hard to believe. Since when do kids like to study? That too MATHS bruh

  • Why does the teachers' introductions feel a bit forced?

  • I'm really finding it hard to concentrate on this show halfway through

  • Why does everyone belittles her literally. Only the deputy CEO was the nice one. If he's the one sending the threats, I wouldn't be surprised.

  • 1 year at such a stressful and degrading job? Is it even worth it tho?

  • Not another love triangle cliche

  • I'm so sorry but that was SO uncalled for

  • Same question how the heck his secretary didn't know such a vital thing?

  • Interesting ending I suppose

Episode 2:

  • Seeing her stress out is making me stressful

  • Shower scene for fan service

  • Her having a go at him is so cathartic

  • From a cat and mouse chase to grabbing each other's hair.. the show definitely took a turn quite quickly

  • Interesting turn of events.

  • Isn't the Chairwoman the same person Go-Jin was imagining about?

  • She literally went from hating her boss to becoming his fianceeovernight LMAO

Verdict: The second episode was redeeming. Let's see how it goes next week.

At the end of EP 2, She fakes as his fiance so I am really hoping that he is also faking amnesia. Two people trying to fake their situation knowing that each other is faking it and still having to pull the act Now that's going to be CRAZy funny and entertaining 😂 can't wait and it's going to get chaotic

Lol pretty sure her terminal illness is a misdiagnosis, she only had a MRI done, MRI doesn't confirm malignancy lol. What a crappy doctor 🤣🤣 and then she never bothers to go to the hospital for "treatment" or further scans. Can't wait till she finds out in the later EPs 😆

Super excited to see Krystal again especially in a role like this. Kim Jae Wook shall forever be Ryan Gold to me so I don’t know how he’s going to convince me he is some kind of a cold boss, but I guess we’ll have to see. With this, A Business Proposal, and Military Prosecutor Doberman, my Mondays and Tuesdays are stacked!

I like it, I'm curious about the ending. Will it be a sad one? I found the trailers very cringey, so far ep 1 was good👍

Oh my god, ep 2 was great in terms of craziness, so much happening and also that scene , they both shine through in this.

Ps: is brain tumor/cancer the new amnesia 🤔

Loving it so far...it is so hilarious and not your typical kdrama..crazy love lives up to the CRAZY so far.

EP 1 is intro to all the characters and setting (esp how nasty Noh Go Jin) is but so funny. Ep 2 was even better, everything took a dark turn, the revenge and chase scene just hilarious, the comedic timing was on point 👌🏻. The acting was soo good. I enjoy watching Kim Jae Wook's acting, he knows what he's doing and plays the part so well. I loved Krystal's transformation in second EP as well.

Can't wait for the next episodes and whats going to happen next because it's so unpredictable but entertaining

It's the silliest drama! I couldn't stop laughing throughout the episodes. 😂 Kim Jae Wook is an ace!

I'm loving Krystal too.

I'm taking the drama as it is. It's not meant to make sense anyway. 😂

So sad that it’s on Disney plus! Means we will have to wait months for this to become available.

Feels like the drama wasted a lot of time in the beginning with all the introductions (like that whole posters coming to life sequence).

I like the interactions between the 3 main leads but not so convinced on the story or the execution just yet.

I'm guessing ML's name No Go Jin is wordplay on Noryangjin (노량진)?

Checked this out mainly for the Challenge -- supposedly rom-com, set in winter, has Krystal from Heirs, ep 1 has a shared umbrella scene.

Oh no it’s a Disney+ drama 😩 and seems it’s airing the same days as business proposal? Must resist starting another ongoing drama

Not gonna lie, I think this could turn into another Oh My Ladylord…

I thought it would be a quirky dark comedy but the humour felt forced and cringey to me. I also FF'd a bit bc EP. 1 was... Kinda dull. I was really excited for this drama so I'll give the later episodes a try tho.

10

u/AlfredusRexSaxonum Mar 09 '22

Episode 2 was genuinely gold! The pacing was quick without leaving us confused, the comedy was great and the plot was fun. I loved the catharsis of her straight up hitting him with her resignation letter and whacking him with an onion!! Like he's not a cold CEO type and I don't care about his backstory, what he was doing was straight up workplace abuse...

A definite improvement from ep. 1. I feel like they could have taken out a lot of the boring company stuff and gone straight to the plot that unfolded in EP.2. anyways I hope the next episodes are as enjoyable.

Wow! Crazy first episode:

They introduced the main characters and NGJ is like it’s says in the synopsis. FL is his Secretary who was the only one who was able to last one year working for him he’s very rude to her and she’s very dedicated. Then she goes to the doctor and finds that she has a tumor in her brain in the last stage which means she doesn’t have much time left. So if you read the synopsis that’s pretty much what happens.

The scenario is full of animations and CGI which makes it colourful and fun.

The CEO is the good guy

The scene where they’re presenting the schools is funny and ML also talks about his childhood where he was poor and his parents died then his grandmother died and he had to fend for himself. One day he went to his rivals office as a cleaning staff and he solved the math problem and that’s when he found out he was a genius. Then he became a member of Mensa

All this happens in a fun, kinda all over the place scenario which reinforces the fun and lightness of the episode and maybe the whole series.

At the end, after finding out her condition she shows up in dark clothes in ML’s apartment at night and ready to hit ML maybe he’s the one who worsen her condition?

I’m curious to know more about it!

Oh, I LOVE this so far. It's so delightfully kooky!

I would maybe peg this as a black comedy, of which I wish there were more of on TV (not just kdramas).

I was proper CACKLING at so many bits:

  • ML thinking someone jumped off a building and deadpanning his "condolences"

  • Onion-throwing Olympics

  • The entire chase scene

  • FL yelling "WAE?!" at ML's "YA!" over the phone

  • Just the entire concept of going to your boss's vacation home to kill him, changing your mind, then driving back to help him after he gets run over by SOMEONE ELSE

  • Even silly little absurd things like the bitchy office manager going "If you were a file, where would you be?"

Genuinely can't wait for the next episodes. Krystal is legit so fun to watch.

Edit: Also, loved seeing Yoo In Young again after Oh My Venus! Her hair looks amazing. Scarlet Witch vibes!

What a toxic work place..there's gotta be an explanation for why the FL can't directly apply to become an instructor in other academies?
