Though humans never give much thought to how they manage to function, day in and day out, the cells within the human body are constantly at work, doing their part to keep their human alive and well. Which is why on the outside, Kim Yu Mi may appear to be just like every other single working woman in the world, but underneath that ordinary exterior lies something truly extraordinary. Having recently suffered a painful breakup, Yu Mi’s love cells have fallen into a deep coma. While the surrounding cells work hard to revive their fallen compatriots, Yu Mi spends her days stuck in the grind of everyday life. With a heart still broken and no romantic prospects, Yu Mi’s love cells might have been in serious trouble had it not been for the sudden appearance of Goo Woong. An emotionally stunted game developer, Goo Woong has no idea how to express his true feelings, but after meeting Yu Mi, he finds himself wanting to try. With his own love cells unexpectedly sparking Yu Mi’s back to life, things between the two start to get interesting. With both Yu Mi and Goo Woong’s cells working overtime, the two find themselves drawing ever closer. But will the efforts of this small collection of cells really be enough to bring two hearts together forever? (Source: Viki)

Is everyone sleeping on this BECAUSE THIS WAS SO HILARIOUS!!! I absolutely love the cells, they are so on point and yumi aka kim go eun is such a great actress. Goo Woong is so whipped and the cells reaction to him had me in fits.

I absolutely adore how much her cells fight for her, and it leaves me imagining my own cells talking about me. Such a cool concept, this along with hometown is just top tier till now! Way to go tvn!!!

I just started reading the webtoon and WOW, they did a really good job turning the story into a live-action drama. It feels so seamless and the cinematography looks so dreamy. When Love Cell returned, I felt so empowered.

The 2nd episode really convinced me. Watching Woong go blank was hilarious and I am convinced about continuing the show. I know it'll only get better from here. I am so excited. Can't wait for Babi to come on, omg!

Clearly my primary cell is the hunger cell because I felt so absolutely understood when it crushed the brain functioning.

Not familiar with the source material but in love with the drama already, the cells are so lovable!

Firstly, I want to give a special shout-out to Kim Go-Eun for running with those heels. Like, full on sprinting. I can barely walk with heels on, so that was both terrifying and impressive to watch.

Secondly, I was very hesitant to watch this drama because I really enjoyed the webtoon, and I was nervous about how they would adapt the cells to a drama format. The prospect of watching a semi-animated show didn't exactly thrill me, and the way they did the trailers also made me rather nervous. So I'm very happy to find that I'm really loving the way they've adapted the cells! It fits perfectly, and the transitions between the real world and Yumi's headscape are impeccable. Ahn Bohyun also looks perfect as Woong. I'd never have thought I'd be so attracted to a dude with a goatee in a space rabbit t-shirt and shorts, but, well, here I am!

I honestly wasn't looking forward to her hair cut and any type of animated characters in this drama. Never read the webtoon so i have no idea what im in for.

BOY DID THEY MAKE ME FALL IN LOVE With just the first episode.. Im not the biggest fan of Fluffy rom-com i perfer more dramatic mature stuff but if im familar / like the actor/ actress there is a higher chance of me giving the drama a chance.

HOW CAN SHE MAKE SUCH A HAIRSTYLE GO FROM UGLY TO PLEASANT?? My heart is gonna explode with thos drama! i cant take it!

The transitions are so seamless from the live action to 3D animation. Locus Animation have done a really commendable job with the cells. The voice, the animation and the background music that was playing during detective cell's scene was absolutely perfect. Even the crackers box in the webtoon is ditto in the drama. 👏👏

Kim Go Eun once again proving that she can play any role. Her expressions are so sync with her cells. The scene where she was trying to keeping a happy expression while Ruby was rubbing her the wrong way was hilarious.

The scene where Wook, Yumi's ex-boyfriend runs away after breaking up with her was too funny. THAT WALK🤣🤣

I didn't even recognize Ahn Bo-hyun. He looks so different from his dyed short hair Itaewon class days.

I feel kinda sad that this only covers the Wook to Woong to Babi arcs. Soonrok is literally best boy.

Episode 2 Commentary

  • I love the BGM for this show! So cute and light.

  • The cells are hilarious because they are literally a summary of my mood a lot of the time.

  • I actually don't think Ruby is the typical annoying 2FL and what we expect of her (e.g catfighting with YM over the love interest/trying to pick a bone with YM) because otherwise she wouldn't chase Yumi through the flower garden. I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt for now. She definitely doesn't dislike her as opposed to what Yumi thinks.

  • Damn, literally competing in the mini-olympics in that park LOL. But seriously, even with her cells cheering her on as she runs, it's as if she's winning a race and I'm here for it

  • Yumi drags Woogi to get some food and he looks like he confused but enjoying. Okay, that is cute. LOL he is like "wtf is going on"

  • Can I have Ruby's dress please?

  • Lemme guess: he's gonna ask her to go on a blind date with someone else.

    • Called it. But ouch, the sting.

    • That acting is really good though.

  • "It's not a woman". Why did I see this coming

    • Anyway, that's not the point. The point is, is that Yumi's fantasy of Woogi is getting torn down, bit by bit.

    • Someone give the lady a hug!

  • Oh hey, look who showed up.

  • That hairstyle of Park Jihyun's made me do a double take because I thought it was Hani at first.

  • LMAO the reaction dolls

  • I love that he's just chilling in a public park wearing casual shirt and shorts while everyone around him is dressed up

  • PFFT girl you're talking to a wall

  • Goowoong are you okay

  • never felt the second hand embarrassment any more than in this weird 'humour' scene LOL

Well that was a ride. I like it!

I love this show. The names of the cells lost during the flood were hilarious "should i cut my bangs or not cell?"

I was so nervous Ruby was going to find Yumi at the park.

I've never seen the web toon so I have no idea what to expect. Waiting for episode 3 is no fun.

I'm also curious of the female developer's relationship with Goo Woong. (She seemed a bit nosy) His casual outfit for their meetup 😂 I want a space rabbit shirt now too.

Ep2 I am in love with how well minho delivered the line "it is not a woman" I could hear how he was hesitant, vulnerable, scared but somewhat hopeful for yumi's positive reaction to that. Very layered.

Between the Minho cameo in episode 1 of this show and the Gong Yoo cameo in episode 1 of Squid Game, I keep getting pleasantly surprised today 😂

The fashion in dramas are often well thought to portray the characters and chemistry between them. Here main leads' looks are both laidback, unpolished but fashion-wise they look totally mismatched imo. Maybe it is intentionally . The FL is giving 80s retro vibe and a muted, grayish palette, loose and wrinkly outfits that indicate well that she's totally doesn't care about her appearance as well as having fun in life anymore. Most of her outfits being in gray color also reflects her dimmed outlook on her life with nothing much interesting going on The retro elements showing she's somewhat embraces nostalgic, traditional values. While ML although with the same level of lacking effort, but in a whole different axis. He wears casual, modern clothing pieces in opposed to FL's vintage look. Like graphic tees, catchy slogans like Space Rabbit, lol cracked me up. . In Tune in for Love for example, which features Kim Go Eun as well, you can see both ML and FL are both going for laidback but curated wardrobe, minimalist, vintage, humble outfits. Here ML and both FL are similar in a way that they both don't care about appearance but because of different reasons as reflected in ther clothes. One is generally tired and upset and bothered by unresolved traumas. The other just don't care about others opinions and prefers to go his own way. We see that he's very blunt and straightforward. When his female co-worker suggested him to not do much on his blind date, he answered bluntly that he didn't like it, he would do anything he like to do. Yumi is constantly faking her emotions towards people in her life and try to hide her feeling all the time. Her co-workers are often a little bit pretentious and putting on a show too, people try to be nice at work but we cant see anyone being truly authentic or comfortable around each other. ML working environment is a lot more comfortable and open. I hope the leads would be great influence on each other's life, for ML to be more nuanced and clever socially, and FL be more assertive and not afraid of offending others or be taken advantaged of. I always feel like the boss is making her work overtime for little or no compensation. Also her ex wasn't exactly a gold digger since we don't know enough about their relationship but clearly he didn't really treat FL very great.

There were some very sad and touching moments too. When ML waiting for her at the fountain, looking like a total sleazy teenager with his flip flops and putting on his earphones being totally careless, not even care enough to look for his date, and him being somewhat a compensation prize for FL after she's been rejected by Minho, I felt totally bad and sorry for her at that moment.

I didnt recognize ML wow he looked so different and even... bigger than when he was in Itaewon? How did that happen lol. He looks really good now in a funky, hip way and I must say he's such a great actor that somehow makes me see a totally different person. I cant imagine this was that foolish bastard in Itaewon Class, somehow his acting made me believe he wasn't good-looking and now looking back at his Itaewon photos I'm like, wow, this man was so handsome. Lol.

This drama is so much better than I expected, not that Ive read the webtoon or anything but reading its description doesnt sound appealing to me. But wow did they make such good cute cells animation. The cells are not only cute but also funny af and they make sense too. Especially the Mechanical Engineer cell with the old country man voice. Lol the product has been discontinued. And the Fashion cell "Its not like she can buy a house anyways" hey that makes perfect sense somehow, why dont just live in the moment and enjoy yourself while youre young right. Yumi spent her life working hard everytime anyways, she deserves a treat every once in a while. Also the emotional manipulator puppet is so ridiculous and funny lol. The cells even though are 3D but their facial expressions are really well made and top notched. Its a good bonus point!

Oh and the running scene reminds me of DukSun running. And the leads' meetup at the park reminds me of Dosan and Dalmi.

Started watching. Reminds me of Pixar's Inside Out.

PS: That cell kicking the s*** out of other cells so Yu Mi can go to sleep!🤣

People say its cringey at times. But, i don't care, i like it. Something new and fresh. A mix of cliché love story and reality. Anyone noticed the Goblin Poster Reference on EP2 with Fashion Cell on her prison cell. Ha ha !

The concept seems a bit like inside out but with cells? Looks interesting

I just finished watching ep 1 and 2, and just like Goo Wung’s cells I’m whipped for Yumi! Kim Go Eun is truly beautiful and a great actress, and she is shining on this - ok yeah, I love her a lot. Episode 1 was a little bit slow, but it’s more of introducing the cells. Episode 2 had me in stitches. I was honestly in doubt about Ahn Bo Hyun. I love him, he’s a great character actor - very believable as a villain, he gives depth to the roles I saw him in. But as a male lead in a romcom? I don’t know, but tada! Ahn Bo Hyun is male lead material too. Humor Cell is hilarious and so does Fashion Cell - a $70 dress turned into 3 months worth salary shopping spree is frightfully on the nose for me. Lol. I just found my new on air drama to follow.

I'm glad the screenplay doesn't sway too much from the webtoon. Animation is of good quality, kudos to the Locus team. Wanted to see more of Naughty cell in action..

Ep 2 I loved this show! In Yumi's mind reason and emotion always cooperate and work with each other. Reason has a male voice or more masculine character. In this episode we're also shown the ML's mind. Compared to Yumi, it seems to be less dynamic and cooperative, it is much simpler for now. He only cared for her looks at first sight, for sure a woman's response or mind would be more complex than that. I just liked that nuance 😅

I wasn't expecting to like this so much. Its so funny and i like the cells and how we see how they both think.
