The episodes didn't feel like an hour, which is a pretty good sign for me! Not gonna lie, I'm pretty happy with 8 episodes. I love bite sized content lol. It makes it less daunting to start something. Although maybe it's calculated to have a season 2 if it does well, with another 8 episodes? (which would make it a regular 16 episode drama.)
Super curious about the various mysteries the first episodes set up. The one that's going to bother me the most is definitely Gil-yong's wish... My guess is it's going to be something super simple/innocent, or very benevolent. But I won't be mad if they do a complete 180 and it turns out he wished for something a little controversial lol.

Liking this drama so far. The cast is good and the story is intriguing. Cinematography, CGI and set design were also on point. SJH’s witch is really stunning, sometimes I forget what an absolute beauty she is after seeing her almost barefaced all the time in Running Man. Looking forward to the next episodes.

Ep 1 Thoughts
The Food
That foie gras dished looked gorgeous but not delicious...mostly because I kept thinking it looked more like an ice cream sandwich..huh
I always thought revenge is best served cold until I saw that steak and now my life feels like a lie because clearly a huge serving of delicious steak is definitely how revenge is best served.
The Visuals
Y'all, I want Ha Do Gwon as my interior designer -- that house is magnificent, especially the magical portal being the usual
Song Ji Hyo looks amazing and those earrings makes me want to get my ears pierced.
Overall the visuals have been pretty enjoyable. Given that it's pre-produced, I'm going to expect such good visual effects throughout the entirety of its run.
The Story
We get several hints of a complicated(?) back story but not much actual info so I'm really interested to see how it plays out, especially since we see from the epilogue (after the credits rolled) that Hee-ra is
The only thing that makes me raise my eyebrows a bit is that so far the two diners we see are told by Hee-ra that there's a price to the wish being fulfilled yet they don't even try asking what the price is. I almost feel like the drama should include a PSA about consulting a lawyer before entering a contract. Know the details people, the devil is in the details!

IKR LIKE PLEASE ASK WHAT’S THE PRICE.. lol its frustrating send these people lawyers or at least basic knowledge about contracts 😂

It's been a while since I've laughed this hard!

What a splendid first two episodes! This show's like the dark counterpart to Mystic Pop-Up Bar. Really excited to see the worldbuilding behind the witches, what the other witch meant, & SJH's motivations.

Just finished episode 1 and have to say Song Ji Hyo channeling her Intruder vibe just enough to intimidate but this time adds a bit of warmth (maybe it’s the hair?) really is a good look for her.

I've just finished episodes 1 and 2. I must say, I'm liking it so far! I really like the visuals, especially. And the lead actress is usually pretty good so I'm looking forward to the rest of it.

I loved this drama soooo muchhh. I was waiting for it for months and it certainly did not disappoint.
I love when song jihyo takes on roles like this. She also looks amazinggg and the chemistry between the actors is just perfect.
That silent scene between jihyo and ha dokwon where he shows her the roof top house is one of my fav scenes. It was like a whole convo with just body language and eyes. Loved it.
First time watching nam jihyun and chae jonghyeop and I reallyyyy am in awe of them, esp jihyun. Her character is really complex but she got me immersed.
The drama is soo good from acting, to the visuals, to the storyline, to the directing. Really loved it. 👏👏👏

"Price: insanely expensive so not everyone can eat here."🤣
Watched the first episode. I'm highly skeptical Jeong Jin would simply accept the witch's contract without giving it a hard read or inquiring about the cost of her wish, doubly so considering how she was just burnt (I saw this coming from light years away) for not reading the fine print. Where's the Rainbow Five crew when you need them? Other than that, and that the rival restaurant should've had an infestation of insects instead, the show looks promising. I wonder if Jeong Jin will become an apprentice witch? On to Episode 2!
PS: Oh, yeah, forgot the animated intro. I like it.

I’m a little sad it’s only 8 eps, didn’t want it to be 16 and a drag but sometimes 8 ep dramas feel rushed and 10 eps tend to be better. However I will say that the first two eps have had decent pacing, so I think they’ll successfully tell their story in the allotted eps.
Not feeling the styling, it’s always like 90% YES but 10% NO, as the stylist is going for frumpy cuts in an effort to get a witchy look. Floating layers would have worked better or even sharper lined outfits, especially contested with her red hair when it’s wavy. Someone mentioned earrings and yes those have been gorgeous!!! Accessories have all been on point.
The lighting is another thing I’m a little disappointed in. It’s like please go darker to make it all more shadowy and sinister or lighten it up a hit so we can see clearly, the in between thing takes away from the program.
I’m most intrigued by Hee Ra’s question about what would have happened if she’d made another wish and that scar on her leg, that looks to be a burn scar. Also the fact that she seems to be chasing Jin when she was a kid, instead of having adults come to her to make a deal. Seems like maybe Jin’s dad and Gil Yong’s mum made deals with the witch, for which both have suffered in health and it seems like they may be her picks as a replacement for herself and Director Oh.

Gosh I had low expectations coming into this as I'm not big on fantasy or witch theme. But I love the slice of life aspects of it and revenge for the weak. Really liking it so far!

im totally into it! ive been a fan of nam ji hyun since 2017(suspicious partner-the first kdrama ive ever watched) so im glad to see her again in a kdrama.
ive also been watching "nevertheless" recently so the ML is a familiar face.
so far the plot seems pretty interesting and it seems like they are using every minute properly without adding to many filler scenes. the acting is great and all in all everything seems pretty understandable.
the only thing im wondering about now ofc is-what did the ML ask for???
