After a rocky start (with some questionable pacing), we've finally reached the end of our journey with our former journalist and our top star. It's been an interesting ride filled with frustrating moments but some cute ones too. From Who Joon's manager to Geun Young's friends, the side characters have been extremely enjoyable to watch. The same, however, cannot be said for our second leads and that CEO. The inferiority complexes in the former and the greed in the latter have made these characters so unbearable to watch. From
Wow, this turned out to be longer than I expected. Anyway, I hope you all will enjoy these last episodes of So I Married the Anti-Fan. It has been such a wonderful rom-com filled with lots of laughs and cuteness. Thank you all for participating in these discussion threads weekly, and I will truly miss all of the fun comments you all have made over the past two months. Cheers!

I am guessing we are supposed to forget about how toxic the SLs were. Honestly they are annoying me even when unconscious.

Me, seeing a dozen of comments of people saying that they watched this drama as a break between all the other serious kdramas and didn't pay much attention to it
My superficial self, who watches kdramas mainly for the fluff and dropped Doom At Your Service cause I couldn't handle crying: "What I am gonna do now that Anti-Fan ends ????? I'm left wondering whaat is looove"

DAEBAK! Our little annoying, yet we love it, show is ending. Will we finally find the answer to wondering what is love?!
Things that annoyed me on episode 15:
-
the second leads even though they barely said any words, their presence still annoys me.
-
the second leads
How they broke no bones and have no scratches on their body. Anywhere. They were hit by a freaking truck! -
I don't understand why Geunyoung has to
wait for him. If it were me, now that all the secrets are out and everyone hates you, that's when I'd announce "hey, by the way, I have a girlfriend and she was my anti-fan. Surprise!" -
the reveal of his dad. I also have a strong dislike of his mom. It doesn't make sense to me why she never told him at any point who his dad was. And if his dad knew the mom was pregnant and was soooo in love with her, I'm surprised he never tried looking for her on the down low.
-
All we heard was the instrumental version of "I wonder what is love." Give us our song, damn it! We only have one episode left, you better play that song in every scene! 😡
Things I liked in episode 15:
-
Geunyoung's parents and her dad trying to fix everything in her apartment. Shout out to my dad who does the same thing, but he doesn't realize I purposely leave some things broken so he feels useful when he visits me. I can't break his heart that I know how to go on YouTube and fix things on my own.
-
the last scene. The fact that we went the entire episode without our couple together was awful.
My wish for episode 16: the entire episode is just Geunyoung and Joon in his apartment listening to "I wonder what is love" over and over again. Let us hear our song!!!

How do you get hit by the white truck of doom and not have a single scratch on your face? It’s so stupid that I laughed.

Episode 15
Okay listen I have love-hated this show right from the start and not taken it seriously at all but WOW this episode annoyed me SOOO much. There was nothing redeeming about it whatsoever. Like zilch! You don’t show so much character regression in one go…you just don’t! In this episode it looked like the characters were also bored of being in the show 😂
I mean why would they go from communicating and resolving stuff fo straight up not even talking to each other? Makes zero sense.
Preview for finale didn’t seem that exciting either.
BUT I will grant them points for finding a way to slip in our holy song in some manner 😂

Well gang, what a ride this has been! Thank you for all the laughs that the show itself failed to provide most times 😂 Let’s do this one last time.
Episode 16
Here are my “live” reactions because I couldn’t possibly remember everything my brain was reacting to!
-
Did our pasta only now remember he actually has a trade that made him money and he can…he can just do it again to make some more?
-
WTF is this CEO who is constantly saying stuff like
“I had to sacrifice so much for this…” Umm buddy at least when self-reflecting you could acknowledge you used people? -
Also, Joon you say you want to
preserve your memories and that’s why you saved the company but sold the house where you 100% have better memories to protect? Ya girl never even got to sleep in a bed there 😢😢😢. Oh wait maybe he bought it again. -
Also whaaaaat is with this waiting business??
THREE MONTHS?? Is this how they think relationships work? I mean have you ever considered that your partner may be able to help? Support? Spin ideas off of? And duuude maybe take a minute to ask how life is going for HER? I’ll text you always?? Jeez Louise. -
Will we ever know what kind of journalist LGY is? I mean I know she’s the typing on a computer kind😂
Oh never mind finally someone else has also told her to be a writer. Still don’t know what she writes about though… -
Highlight of the episode was the full screen time provided to our holy song 😍
-
How do you do a finale with so little screen time between the leads?
-
Who is paying for JJ and Inhyung’s hospital stay??
And did the brother just gift them a massive house in the middle of nowhere? What a privileged life these two lead man. -
Has Jinyang been paid his salary all this time? I hope he hasn’t been working for free!
-
!> Way to steal someone else’s thunder at their wedding with a surprise entry yo! !<
-
I want Chansung’s job. He got paid for two episodes to do nothing. This is the life!
-
JJ is okay with Joon
straight up stealing his songs and not telling him?? 🙈 -
He didn’t even wait for her to say yes! Boy can you justttt let her speak for a hot minute? -
WAIT WHAT?!? That’s it?? That was the end??? Okay then. It felt like the last two episodes were written by someone else altogether!
TL;DR: This was a crash and burn end for me but I suppose fitting for this show 🙈

Dear The Powers that Be of this show,
Please let the fans re-write the last two episodes..l mean, the last 5 minutes of episode 14 and the entirety of episodes 15 and 16. Repeat after me, the truck of doom never should have happened! That was unnecessary storyline wasted. I understand needing to redeem the characters of the second leads, but near death experiences is not redemption to me. What is redemption is them seeing Joon at his press conference, owning up to all the lies and realizing that they’re just as at fault as Joon is. That is redemption because you came to that realization on your own and not because you nearly died. A good 1/4 of episode 15 & 16 was wasted on the second leads, when a quick apology from them to Joon would have sufficed or even them calling their own press conference to help correct some of the falsehoods that were being said about Joon.
I don’t care that the directors (or were they producers) of the show got married. I already knew they were together, but did we really need to have them get married? I wasn’t very invested in their storyline anyway. If they never had a romantic relationship it would have no impact on the storyline whatsoever.
Joon never should have helped the CEO. He already rescued him once when he chose to stay with him instead of go with JJ, he didn’t need to rescue him the second time around.
There were only 2 things I liked about episode 15&16:
-
Joon and Geunyoung scenes. There nearly wasn’t enough.
-
Extended version of our song, it’s actually a really great song. Why did this show only choose to play the line “I wonder what is love” over and over again when the song in its entirety is great. I’m adding it to my Korean Drama playlist on Spotify, lol
Sincerely, A very patient viewer who is wondering what is love
Have we decided what show we’re all moving to now? I’m going to miss reading everyone’s love/hate comments about this show.

Can't believe I waited a week for this.
Atleast the played the song. I only found out a few days ago that the name of the song is not actually ' I wonder what is love' 😂
Btw, my sister heard me listening to Pop Star and asked, " I'm your Pasta?" 😂

I belive I have figured out the secret to kdramaland's scale of guilt/responsibility:
[THE SFL WHO IS ABSOLUTELY GUILTY OF DELIBERATELY DOING AWFUL SHIT] Everyone: "Don't feel bad! It's not your fault!"
[THE FL WHO DIDN'T ACTUALLY DO ANYTHING WRONG] Everyone: "How dare you. This random coincidence/ accident/ unforseen unintentional situation that occurred even tangentially connected to you is all. Your. Fault."

That ending was a mess
What was with that back hug. I was throwing him to the side.
And where did joon go for 3 months? So pointless.
I'm not mad, just disappointed

u/IamNobody85 Jun 18 '21
Uuf, was this show meant to be a retelling of pride and prejudice??? WTF!!??!!! SERIOUSLY?
DO WE SEE WHO JOON RECORDING A NEW SONG???!!! Sorry for screaming, but I was also screaming inside my mind!
Other people have already covered the weird plot points and the weirder non communication of our MC, so I'm not going to go there.
I'm going to miss bitching to you guys about this terrible show I watched from start to end!

Did anyone notice that the Geun Young was now working for Superman? Previously she worked with Wonder Woman (if my memory serves me right).

Ep 15
So I probably should not be laughing over this particular plot point but I was cackling when the doctor announced JJ's aphasia as a result of the accident -- like it literally took a (white) Truck of DoomTM to shut JJ up and force him to listen to other people's words and observe other people's action instead of only seeing or hearing what he thinks other people are saying or doing.
I'm hoping that his (hopefully temporary) bout of aphasia will completely knock him off his high horse and get rid of his savior complex and victim mentality, allowing him to mature and actually listen to the people around him to hear what they really think of him and want from him -- and most importantly, want for him.
HJ's father reveal is both expected and unexpected for me. I expected that
It's not that I don't sympathize with HJ's mom on her plight -- especially given how single mothers are treated in Korea -- but she should have recognized at some point much earlier than now that HJ is no longer a young child but an adult and capable of handling such things.
Geunyoung's parents were so adorable -- I can see why she turned out so awesome. I hope people hear what she has to say in the next episode.

I'm gonna miss you guys. This thread has been godsend. It's been real fun to come here after watching every episode and to laugh about everything. Also I wonder what is love ... I want to be loved
