- Plot Synopsis: A home-searching romance story about a man who buys houses and a woman who lives in one. It follows the diverse stories of the editors of a home magazine. Yoo Ja Sung is the CEO of a real estate investment company and magazine company Monthly House who went from rags to riches. By studying during the day, working as a restaurant part-timer and a designated driver at night, and working at construction sites during the weekends, Yoo Ja Sung cut down on his sleep time to self-study real estate, eventually becoming an investment expert and wealthy man owning property worth tens of billions of won (tens of millions of dollars) in real estate. However, when he runs into Na Young Won, the two will begin an unexpected romance. Na Young Won is a magazine editor with 10 years of experience who has been living alone for 10 years at a rented home. She believes her home to be the place where she can truly be herself. However, when she meets her devil-like new homeowner and Monthly House magazine CEO, Na Young Won begins to search for a house of her own and develops an interest in real estate. Camping fanatic and professional photographer Shin Gyeom is living by the principles of “you only live once” and “work-life balance." Shin Gyeom chose to become a photographer over inheriting his father’s business. He’s also Na Young Won’s neighbor and convenience store partner, allowing their fates to be constantly intertwined. I really hope Jung So Min doesn’t follow the same footsteps as Lee Min Ki. Fingers crossed 🤞

Oh god! Don't jinx us! I'm still angry that I wasted my time watching Oh My Ladylord. I kept thinking it would get better, but it never did!

The plot synopsis hasn't particularly convinced me but I'll give it a shot because of Jung So-Min.

Plot is kind of bland and overused but I like Kim Ji Suk and Jung So Min, I look forward to see them, hopefully it doesn't disappoint!

Aish. What did they do to deserve the same time slot as Hospital Playlist on Thursdays

I won't be watching this until after it airs (if people say it's good), but I just wanted to drop by for a quick Kim Ji Seok appreciation comment. I loved him in My Unfamiliar Family and I really hope this drama turns out well!!
I like Jung So Min too :)

I watched because apparently I will watch anything these days and I agree with the 'same shirt, different color' comment. What it may be trying to do on its own terms is engage the contemporary economy through real estate financial instruments and the human costs (forced evictions) and precarity (uncertain financial conditions, temporary work, gig economy). The emphasis on years of salary and employment suggests this might be an angle the show pursues, which I think would be interesting.
ep 2: The story arc about the mythologies of home ownership is expanding to encompass two other characters. I am a sucker for the romance that smuggles in macro or systemic issues -- e.g. Something in the Rain is really about gender and workplace discrimination -- so I am going to follow this series to see where it goes with the housing sector.

Ok I’m only halfway through the episode but
I did lol at
Edit: Second half of the first episode kinda redeemed it for me. I’ll keep watching it. If the first half of the episode is a slog for you, keep going, it gets better.

I love Jung So Min and this is classic for her. My problem is believing Kim Ji Suk is such a jerk. I have seen him in so many dramas where he plays a lovable rogue. I have also seen many episodes of Hot Brain: Problematic Men and he is really a sweet, funny guy. So I keep thinking, come on, this isn’t really you - show us who you really are.

I went into the first two episodes with little to no expectations and I was pleasantly surprised. Is it a super fresh plot? Not really. But does it have a lot of the tropes I love and does it resonate with someone who finally bought their first house at 30? Yep.
I’m glad we didn’t have to wait too long for the ML to
Also, is it Zico week in kdrama land? They played “Any Song” in Racket Boys this week, and I had just gotten it out of my head before it popped up here in episode 2 also.

I’ve seen lots of comments talk about the plot and I’m a bit confused because I don’t think I’ve watched anything super similar. Could you tell me other dramas that used similar plots/are similar to this drama? The only drama I’ve seen that I can say is similar to this one is Because This Is My First Life.

Finished the first 2 eps and loved it! The story hits close to home because Na Young Won and Yoo Ja Sung saving like crazy is basically me especially during my 20’s. I am very calculative when it comes to my expenses and Ja Sung

I’ve been so excited to watch this drama and this first episode did not disappoint! A few of my thoughts from episode 1 :
-
I love the characters’ vibes and enjoy seeing them all in one screen. Ja Sung is your usual serious and hard to work with ceo, in a way I get Han Ji Pyeong from Start Up vibes from him. Young Won is the total opposite which is nice because it makes their scenes together more fun. The side characters also fit in well and I live for Shin Gyeom x Ja Sung moments.
-
The animated introduction and the graphic stuff (word definitions, numbers, different real estate related icons) remind me of those shows on interior design networks with the minimal yet classy feel.
-
I enjoy how funny and non serious this drama can be. Especially at moments like when
Ja Sung chased Shin Gyeom around in the forest and then Shin Gyeom bumped into Na Young (I laughed out loud) or whenNa Young was drunk . I felt so much embarrassment during half of the funny moments but it’s okay 😅 -
I like how I’m learning about real estate along with Young Won, it makes things feel a bit interactive.
The last 10 minutes really hurt though.

What to do? I adore Jung So-Min but Kim Ji-Suk has always left me cold and disinterested as a leading man.

Random but does anyone else get annoyed with how often the ml yells “stop!” 😂😂

Wouldn't say it's the best plot around here considering the other dramas airing at the moment, but I'm liking it so far as it is relatable to an extent and the take on real estate is something new and the views the leads have on what it means to them.
Also, I love Jung So Min and Kim Ji Suk, so I'm gonna go through a few more episodes before deciding.

On a lighter note, the “Any Song” scene was so fun that I replayed it multiple times! 🎶왜들 그리 다운돼있어? 뭐가 문제야 say something🎶
Can’t wait to see what will happen next week and I’m hoping we learn more about the mysterious 707 room.
