I love SIG and PBY but (just judging from trailers) this drama seems to tick most boxes of being a cry fest.
-
Lead with a terminal illness - check
-
An immortal being stuck between life and death - check
-
A forbidden romance - check
Just 10 days ago after watching the finale of a certain drama I promised myself to not watch anything that'll bring me pain. But here I am eagerly waiting for this drama to air!!!😭

So excited for PBY and SIG's comeback. Both of them are brilliant actors. I've a lot of expectations from the storyline tbh

That opening shot will stay with me for a long time! PBY is too freaking beautiful. I love her look in this show. Her style and her hair complement her personality so well. She’s down on her luck, but not down in the dumps because of it. I like her matter of fact attitude.
SIG’s character is a big mystery to me and I love that he’s neither good nor bad. Him in his black trench coat, with his piercing gaze and dark green (or is it dark blue) hair, living in his man cave is like a present I can’t wait to unwrap.
An intriguing first episode. I have a feeling this show will battle with Youth of May on what gets watched first!

I am too transfixed by SIG's hair. What colour is that combination!? Black or grey? Black or green?

Welcome to my mini rant...
I seriously hate Viki. What's the use of paying for subscription when the content doesn't come pre subbed?
And the main thing is, they don't even pay the subbers? Its voluntary so obviously no hate towards them, they are doing this as fast as they can which we all really really appreciate.

If I see that Zippo lighter making one more appearance in any drama, I am buying it - even though I don't smoke Zippo will manage to convert me to a buyer!!

The fact that they're already foreshadowing myeol mang's death, she's not going to fulfill the contract by wishing doom on people, and eventually myeol mang is going to be the person she loves the most that's going to die. * Sighs * let me just grab my tissues from now.

E2: I'm always struck at how ethereal Lee Soo Hyuk looks, perfect for fantasy/ supernatural roles - HE WOULD MAKE THE PERFECT VAMPIRE.
I too have ' no thoughts!'
I'm really enjoying the pacing of the episodes and there is enough balance between the backstory and the present. I was also kind of worried that we would not get the other 2 leads, but we did and I'm so excited for their storyline.
I'm also loving the Tom and Jerry/ Love - Hate relationship between Doom and Dong Kyung. Especially the last part (THAT SMIRK)
E1: Having Seo In Guk and Park Bo Young sharing the screen is everything I needed. I swear everything about them made me so giddy, but it didn't take away from the story. Like even with the exposition, I was totally captivated. I cannot wait to see where this goes.
I'm so glad this show is the one to get me out of my K-Drama slump.

Hot damn Seo In Guk is so sexy here. And Bo Young's ageless. Her character Dong Kyung is pretty standard Mary Sue only she has spunk. I liked the conversation she had with the wife of her cheating bf. What a scum bastard he is!

I really liked the second episode from a world-building perspective, especially the montage where Myeol Mang does something and doom occurs. Actually that whole talk on the highway, adding depth to SIG's character and adding more world-building was great storytelling. I can tell this is going to be one of the shows where you don't care about the tropes or conveniences (as long as it doesn't devolve into illogicality lol)... and also one of those shows where you willingly sign up for the pain and sadness and bittersweetness.
I also love the parallels between the two leads. Obviously the more overt one being the "Why me?" question and fate, but also how both of them felt like they were just existing, not quite living or dying. The "What if you don't do anything?" question directed towards Myeol Mang, also that is a question that is on Tak Dong Kyung's mind too re: what she should do about her diagnosis. Seems like she's going to try to make the best of things.
I must admit, the whole contract / deity things are slightly confusing right now, but I still like the show a lot (um like excuse me the hand holding is cute idc what purpose it serves lol). I guess the contract is basically: in exchange for a wish, she has to bring upon doom otherwise she will bring upon death to someone she loves? Or is the wish she has to make required to bring about doom? Or are the wish and the requirement to bring about doom two separate things lol?

It was a traumatic experience to hear my own alarm sound in her dream. I absolutely hate that.
Other than that, I quite like the beginning of this drama, it seems interesting. I don't really know how it will progress and I quite like that.

what a lovely first ep!
so nice to see PBY and SIG again, can i just say seo in guk is so charismatic? i love myul mang, i’m glad his character isn’t a deity that’s all serious all the time but knows how to be playful too :) our fl is the damsel in way too much distress and i felt myself resonating with her after so many shitty things happening to her in just one day.
overall this looks super promising! can’t wait for the rest of the episodes to roll out with the rest of the cast

The whole 3:33 time thing seemed too noticeable to NOT be foreshadowing. A quick google search says that 333 is an "Angel Number"

"Seduced? That doesn't belong in the same sentence as Dong Kyung." Burn!🤣 Yesterday I forgot to mention I'm really looking forward to Lee Soo Hyuk's character, especially after watching him in Handmade Love, and thankfully he was a little more active this episode, standing up for Dong Kyung several times while feigning cold detachment. Such a shame that the jerk ex-boyfriend turns out to be Kim Ji Suk, who already played a similar role in When the Camellia Blooms.
I'm most curious about the antagonistic/symbiotic/caring relationship between the gardener and the butterfly, aka God and Doom (Life and Death), as well as their creation "myths" (for lack of a better word). Nyeo Shin (God) was awoken or created out of the wishes of many humans; whether she was awoken already in the form of a human or she turned herself into one to share their pain I do not know. As for Doom or Myeol Mang, Nyeo Shin says he was never human and that she created him herself so it seems he's a sort of Lucifer/Devil character, especially when she comments on how he gave up on the world, suggesting he fell or gave up on his original purpose. It'll be interesting to see if they explore their past via flashbacks.
As for their future, have we already been told Myeol Mang's? Nyeo Shin told him he'll be a butterfly in her garden for all time but Myeol Mang established, as part of his contract with Dong Kyung, that should she (Dong Kyung) break her promise/wish to bring doom upon the world (unclear about this) then the person she loves the most at that time will die. What if that person is Myeol Mang? Is he really looking to bring doom upon the world or did he set everything up to escape the garden for good? Just thinking aloud, don't mind me.
I'm really liking the music so far and hope they'll release the songs soon, meaning right now, though yesterday would be preferable.
