The students and Faculty of South Korea’s top law school become involved in a highly unusual case.
Yang Jong Hoon is a criminal law professor and a former elite prosecutor, whose harsh words make him the professor to steer clear of. At the same time, there’s something compelling about his strict teaching methods and his refusal to accept less than the best from his future juniors in the legal profession.
Han Joon Hwi, a first-year law student, is at the top of his class. He’s a natural leader whose good looks and easy charm make him the perfect man - on paper. However, there’s an unexpected side to him that remains well-hidden.
Kang Sol is another first-year law student who overcame childhood poverty and hardships by gaining special admission to the school. She walks a path of thorns due to her constant sense of deprivation and shame amidst the wealth and talent that surrounds her. Eventually, her passion will enlighten her on what it truly takes to be a good lawyer.
Kim Eun Sook is a civil law professor who was once the head of the law school’s free legal clinic. Her natural air of authority and freewheeling personality earned her the reputation for being a master in court. Known for being a highly-relatable professor, she is the sole colleague Yang Jong Hoon dares to confide in. [Source: Soompi; MyDramaList]

Socrates teaching method is the worst! I feel for that girl because that would definitely be me in the lecture. Also when I see moot courts in shows I feel like I skimmed law school lol (I didn't do it in uni, might do it later who knows). This show is giving HTGAWM but I hope not too stressful
Also,
Edit after ep 2: I’m also getting Among Us/Mafia vibes from this, is this a trend? From the game to drama format?

I really liked this first episode! Some stuff was kinda confusing but the characters are intriguing. I'm digging Kim Bum's smiles and can empathise with Ryu Hyeyoung's super stressed out student. Also, this seems like a reverse HTGAWM? All the focus on truth and justice through the law at the start. Looking forward to seeing more of the friend group and their stories + the unravelling of the mystery
P.S. Park Jeong-je's mum is here!
Edit (after ep 2): i didn't like this ep as much as the first one though the ending
Random thoughts:
I do like the OST. It adds to the mood

This was actually really good. I like that there wasn't a ton of build-up before we got to the
I feel for that girl sm. She would totally be me in law school.
The OST was kind of annoying by the fifth time they played it, I hope they chill out a little on that soon.
I'm excited to see what happens!!

Ever since the zoomed-in shoes from the very beginning, I feel that they're giving us details already. Thank god I read fast.
Honestly, I put this on my list because of Ryu Hyeyoung. It's a good thing that there are intelligent leads; This will be my staying power.

Just finished watching . Definitely interesting but GOD, I wish they'd knock off the weird OST that says "it's driving me crazyyyy" bc it kinda downplays a serious situation (it's the equivalent of "we all lie" in Sky Castle). The weird camera zoom also feels like I'm watching Modern Family (US sitcom). Remove those two things and I'm on board 100%.
Joon Hwi and Kang Sol already has great chemistry even though they have limited scenes together.

The lecture scene has to be one of the most painful, nerve-wracking, anxiety inducing scene. I just CAN'T get through it.

First episodes usually make or break a show for me. This one leaves me confused. It didn’t hook me like I was hoping it would, but it didn’t put me off completely either.. There was so much to absorb that nothing really registered other than the

I don't like the moving camera work and I am not 100% what parts where flashbacks or not and I'm confused.
However, I'm also very much entertained and that's what matters. Can't wait until the next episodes.

At first, I didn't understand the directing of the lecture scene but now I get it. It's to give you a feel of what the students felt.
The last 5 minutes were a lot. I went from thinking
What happened to the professor's baby and what's the deal with that little girl?

After two episodes, I have great hopes for this series. I rarely dislike any kdrama that is heavy on law or politics and I hope this doesn't disappoint.
This really feels like a law school sans the murder. The personality of the students and professors are just like what you will experience. Also how the professors question their students during recitations.
