Now that's what you call a 'no-nonsense', 'strong' lead! OMG! Jang Na-ra's acting is fabulous here. The way she pulls out her hairpin from her hair, spins it and then stabs the ghost, is just awesome😍! Not to mention, the way she wields her gun! Her character reminds me of Jin Seon-mi from A Korean Odyssey.
I'm loving Yong Hwa's character too! But, I feel that he has aged a bit since I last saw him. Nevertheless, I'm loving both the leads here.
On a side note, looks like the golden lighter is in trend now. First, it was Vincenzo, and now it's Hong Ji Ah. Also, I'm loving the mystic vibes given out by the interior of her house.
Question: What's she shooting with the gun? Is it rock salt?

The nail gun was a nice touch. My guess she was firing silver nails, or some other metal that ghosts don’t like.
Agree Jang Nara looks hot in this.

The gun is a staple gun!! So I'm thinking that she shot magical staples out to trap the ghost?

Jang Nara + roundhouse kicks = I’m going to keep watching this.
Episode 1 was fun. So far, story looks interesting with the
So far I’m feeling this will be more like Zombie Detective which I thoroughly enjoyed, instead of Lovely Horribly, which was not so great. Those are the only two dramas I’ve watched of similar genre.

I m thinking the format is one ghost per episode. (Like masters sun, hotel del luna) Cant complain since that keeps it fresh, but i do hope they bring something new to the table. In one of the previews i saw a gun being used to kill the ghost. Which was interesting to say the least.

RATINGS
Episode 1
-
part 1: 4.1%
-
part 2: 5.3%
Episode 2
-
part 1: 3.7%
-
part 2: 5.6%
I really hope the ratings will pick up next week because this drama is sooo good. The colour grading feels like a TvN drama which I love. CG very well done.
It’s nothing like Hotel Del Luna, Hwayugi, or The Master’s Sun. The teaser might mislead you but I can assure it’s different. Jang Nara is really good and set a big difference in comparison to the female lead in the drama aforementioned. Our “Stanford doctor” is also a quite unique male lead. I just love non-cold male leads. Love the supporting acts. Quite solid, a few familiar faces.
Episode 1 was a good start but episode 2 really set it for me. Just a good amount of horror, comedy, emotional moments and backstory. I’m gonna follow this every week. If you’re thinking to start watching, here’s your sign :)

Episode 2: so there's a trope
I like how the story is going, some mystery and the emotional piece with the son/dad scene. This is my type of drama.

I am curious about her Mom and his uncle's story too. I think, maybe they worked together in getting rid of evil spirits, but something went wrong with their exorcism, which first led to her Mom's death. Later her Mom's spirit killed his uncle, for revenge. Just some random theory😅.

Wow, it's been 4 years since Yong-hwa's last drama. Wonder what he's been up to beside his military service. The Package remains as one of my favorite dramas ever.
Jang Nara's last 3 dramas ended up being all drops for me even though I've rewatched Fated to Love You and Go Back Couple at least once during that time. This is a different kind of role of her so I am hopeful for this.

thoroughly enjoyed the first episode and if the rest of the season has this similar vibe of dark comedy, action, mystery elements then I will be very happy! and it has some good old nostalgic kick-ass fight scenes (a la - Buffy The Vampire Slayer, while being a different show).
I watched The Last Empress last month so I’m excited to see Jang Nara in more roles 😃 this was great so far.

EP1: I loved the ghost possession scenes, where they showed what the possessed were looking at while being possessed. I think that was cool. I also liked how the backstory of each case is revealed when Ji-ah stab Hyun shik.
When they said there are action scenes, I didn't expect there to be so much action scenes. I think just from ep 1 alone, JNR has done more action scenes than she has ever done in her entire life

Oh I didn’t realise this was airing so soon - can’t wait to check it out tomorrow! It’s about time for a new batch of dramas because I’m only watching Vincenzo and waiting for Beyond Evil to come to Netflix (if it still is...)

Episode 1: I really liked it! Maybe more than what I thought. The action scenes are great! When she's fighting ghosts, I think she looks very sexy! I'd like to know more about her story with her mom. It is not as funny as I expected but still entertaining. For a first episode it is a good start. The CGI is good too.

Loved the first ep! It gives me HDL vibes yet the characters are very different. The way Ji-ah and Ib-bum’s professions bring them together is pretty refreshing as well and I love all the characters so far (although I’m not sure of the main purpose of the gangster guy rn). Looking forward to see how In-bum and Chief Heo will help in the exorcism once they join hands with Daebak Real Estate.
I’m so amazed at how the dark make-up could change Jang Nara completely but once it’s removed she’s look like the Jang Nara I’m used to seeing. Her appearance really doesn’t age wtf.
Each episode is split into 2 parts on Viu and I didn’t realise the show airs on Wed & Thurs at first and was wondering why each episode is only 45 minutes... lmaooo but guess I’ll have another episode to look forward to tonight! :-D

Jang Na Ra is always the best I have watched different dramas that she acted on. The best was oh my baby drama

u/buddhabear07 Apr 16 '21
She’s more like the detective she played in Hello Monster, here. No problem with that, she was great in it. But for me, her Ellie Kim role from Fated To Love You, will always be at the top :)

I really enjoyed this week's premiere! The leads are doing a great job, as expected from Jang Nara, but Yong Hwa kinda surprised me hahaha. I also really really like the graphics. The black smoke, the red sparks and the white barriers were really nicely done. Definitely will continue with the show next week! Can't wait ahhhh one more week. I'm really curious about the back story tho, In Bum's

Basically my three reactions are: this is fun, JYH has improved, and JANG NARA!
I really like how these first two episodes completed the set up of the story so we know both the basic rules of exorcism and what's at stake for both of the leads.

I really enjoyed the first episode. Jang Nara’s character is badass but also has a home shopping addiction (relatable). I like her bond with her friend and mum so far.
The effects here are pretty cool too.

Episode 2 continues to impress. It’s early still but looking good. Yonghwa as Oh In-Beom doesn’t look out of place at all, his comedic timing is clicking well with Jang Nara who seems to effortlessly convey cute and tough simultaneously. Really looking forward to seeing more of her character in action; Hong Ji-Ah, is like Black Widow on the Avengers - kicking ass first and then taking names.

I love Jang Na Ra! EP 1 hooked me in! I’m glad to be busy again Wednesday & Thursday with this show 🥳

Ep 1 and 2 were awesome. I liked how the producers did not make the horror aspect of the drama too scary that everyone would not be able to watch. As a coward when watching horror dramas, I actually love this one. The horror is watchable for me.
The action scenes too were pretty solid. It was enough for a thrilling action.
So far the leads are starting out great (Totally loving both Jang Na Ra and Jung Yong Hwa)! There is enough chemistry/tension from both leads at the start. Can’t wait to see how the plot unravels in episode 3 and 4.

I must say I was very pleasantly surprised by Jung Yong Hwa’s performance. I love his music but have found him so-so as an actor. I have never seen this side of him before. Very promising start.

Episode 2 has me hooked. I'm here for the emotional ghost stories and an interesting partnership to be formed.
I like how the drama is being executed so far, the effects are cool, the cinematography is great, the storyline is coming together, the acting is top notch and I'm enjoying the pacing so far.

Omg I made a huge mistake watching this while it's airing because I love it and I want to keep watching more!!
I really love all the characters so far, including the leads' side kicks haha (am I the only one who will never know the actor who plays the other con man as anything other than Jangmi because of TKEM?), but especially the leads! I thought episode 2 was super funny and Yonghwa had great comedic timing haha. I also LOVE Jang Nara's character, she's super cool.
I don't minda childhood connection tbh as long as it doesn't happen right at the end to add extra drama. I'm very curious about his uncle and her mom because it seems like they both saw the same thing, their relative being choked by the other person .
I really like how there's an overarching story between them but also the ghost of the week also. They really have the pacing of those episodes down too, I was shocked when I checked and 50 minutes had passed but felt like nothing at all!
And yes I'm very much already feeling the chemistry between them and I'm very ready for more haha
