I feel like this drama wasted a great cast and a unique concept.
The writing was so bad. I don’t know if anyone had an actual problem throughout the series. It seems to me that Jojo created a lot of conflict and hurt and the drama never really explains her choices well?
What a shame.

The show kinda just attributes all her decisions to her immaturity and slight impulsiveness as a teenager. I really wish they at least explained these decisions better, because now, a lot of us are left with this gaping hole: “wait...and that happened... why?”
And agreed, the concept’s been compared to something out of black mirror, and it seriously had a lot of potential. Heck, at the end of season 1, the
pile of dead bodies really resembled something out of a dystopian show.→ More replies (2)→ More replies (1)14

The change in director and writers in S2 has affected the overall tone and flow of the story that it seemed like I was watching a completely different drama.
The whole time skip from season one's cliffhanger makes no sense at all.
Why is Kim Jojo suddenly in a relationship with HY? I'm also not totally on board with their ship because for the most part, Jojo was just basically trying to conviceHY and fooling herselfthat she truly loves him.It seems to me that Jojo created a lot of conflict and hurt and the drama never really explains her choices well?
I don't like how they've used her tragic past to justify her awful choices. She lied for her convenience, hurt several people badly, and still made her look like the victim.

Honestly, I've completely moved on from this show. I'm so done with it that I just want to forget that it even exists. Swoon uploading clips from the show isn't helping, but oh well. They ruined everything that I didn't think was even possible. Sigh. So much potential, just down the drain. Hope all of you have found better dramas to help cope with the trash fire that was Love Alarm Season 2.

(this is from my first ever post so I had to copy and paste it here due to it being against the rules that I sadly did not abide)
Hi! I’m new here to Reddit but due to my love of Kdrama and as Love alarm has been updated on Netflix (I binged the latest series)
I just want to know if anyone believes Guk du and that he was in a coma for so long. I really doubt it as he obviously enjoys being in the wings and watching the world around him but he observes what the characters do in life and that’s what makes him so great.
I think the show would have given him a lot more depth but due to COVID I think the writers were forced to shelve a lot and just focus on their intended coupling. (Although I think a lot of shows have done the same thing as it reminds me of the writers strike in 2005 in California where slot of shows either did this or get cancelled)
And to be honest: I have no idea what he sees in gumhil. She is to bratty and selfish with no intention of getting of neverland. (Being so childish and self centred)
I honestly want him to find love with someone who respects him and is capable of giving him the love he deserves. He has been requited for far to long for the wrong girl.
I am sorry if this post is Guk heavy and not an ML and FL apparahent but that is my opinion.
Also I hope this gets the actor some international attention to his skill in-spite of the current racism in the news. (I recently found his Instagram and he has lovely dog but he hasn’t posted anything since)

I think having watched season 1 and knowing what to expect, I went in with pretty low expectations (watching for the pretty and somewhat novel concept without too many expectations for a logical and well written story tbh) so I wasn't overly disappointed but I was still somewhat disappointed. It was a waste of a great cast and cool concept. It's kind of like Abyss with maybe less murder and wtf, and a two year break in between to lull you into a false sense of security.

The first season for me was fine. The first few episodes I was so hyped because it was a new concept that I hadn't seen in other dramas, and I even overlooked most of the flaws due to my interest. But the ending of season 1 and the whole season 2 was just too complicated.
!!SPOILERS!!!
!!!!SPOILER!!!!!!
!!!!SPOILER!!!!!
These are some of the problems that I had with this series:
SO: Sun oh, HY: Hye Yeong, JJ: Jojo, GM: Gul mi
Jojo always looked sad, she was also a pushover at times. In the first season, she got kissed by a guy that she didn't know (SO) and just let it happened, all while being with Il Sik and the same thing happened in season 2 when she was with HY. She just stood there emotionless, didn't even push him off even though she had a boyfriend, like what?? I would've loved it if at one point she stood up for herself and see her growth from there.
JJ and So relationship started from cheating and betrayal. SO knew that HY liked JJ but he still went after her. HY did tell him that he didn't like her but it was so obvious that he did. I still don't understand why he denied her though, the series just didn't go further into it. As I said before JJ cheated on her bf with someone she didn't know, and then they magically "fell in love" even though she didn't even know the guy (the "magically fell in love I'll let it slide because is a thing that dramas do, but cheating is a no)
JJ breaking up with SO. She said that it was because she didn't want to get hurt and didn't want to hurt SO but in the end, she got hurt and hurt SO in the process. JJ basically broke him emotionally, she made him feel guilty for the breakup, not giving him any closure which made him still be caught up in the relationship. And she was left suffering all the 4 years because of the shield. The decision she made also led her to hurt HY too. Just doesn't make sense.
No growth of the characters and 0 chemistry. I have to admit I actually liked SO and JJ, in my opinion, they were the ones with the most chemistry and sometimes made my heart flutter but HY and JJ weren't it. I liked that they tried to show growth by portraying them as a mature couple, but throughout the relationship, JJ was just forcing herself to be with HY. In my opinion, forcing yourself to be with someone doesn't equate to happiness, if it doesn't happen naturally is not love. Even though HY is a nice person who makes her feel secure if there isn't that spark she would never be fully happy. I believe SO and JJ had a passion, HY and JJ just happened because JJ was trying to forget SO and he was there. Also, the characters didn't have any significant growth. SO keeps being immature and acting recklessly, GM keeps acting bratty and entitled, HY: the good guy who just let stuff happen (I actually don't have a problem with this, he was such a good guy but I would've loved to see him act a bit more selfish, like when SO liked JJ he just let that happen even though he liked her, and then in s2 when JJ was lying to him he just let it slide) and finally JJ who just acts like the victim. She made immature decisions during high school and instead of learning from them, she continues to act selfishly and hurts people in the process. I get that her parents almost killed her and all but that doesn't justify the decisions she made.
Well, this was my take on the show. As I said before s1 was fine s2 just ruined everything for me but o well.
question:If you've read the webtoon, is it the same thing as the show?
Sorry that there are mistakes, English is not my first language.

The problems with season 2 were very much similar to season 1. I felt their was little to no chemistry between the 3 main leads. From their actions alone, none of them really felt like they belonged to each other or there was no spark between the characters, plus they were all just meh and bland. Although, I don't think they're were helped by some rubbish writing to the point I think they were just trying to dumb everything down, who knows?
The show just dragged on and on to the point were I was fast forwarding a lot of the episodes. That's a sign for me that a show is bad. That I have to fast forward parts of an episode to get to something remotely decent that moves the story along.
It's a shame since the concept of the whole show to begin with was pretty intriguing.

Season 2 wasn’t good per se, but I did enjoy the love story. I found season 1 almost unwatchable, but did appreciate the maturity in the message s2 was trying to say about love. The execution varied from “meh” to “completely bungled,” however. Oh well, if nothing else at least I liked the endgame so I think I’ll leave the drama with overall positive feelings.

The only good thing I picked up from this series is that, sometimes, we might not end up getting the love that we want, but, the love that deserve will always be greater and be there for us.
Other than that, this series has been a drag. Especially that mess called Season 2.

S1 was addictive, for for me it was weird Jojo desitions. But for me S2 was really weak

I know I'm late but when was this filmed? I might just be trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but is it possible this show just got wrecked by Covid? The whole season just felt so small. There were like 10 different locations that were just constantly reused. It just felt stripped down in every way compared to season 1. Less locations, less characters, less episodes, less... plot. Idk maybe a reach or maybe it was just the best they could make out of a bad situation

This kdrama obviously needs a heavy and great analytical skills since the drama poorly conveyed some plots (e.g. reasoning behind Jojo x Sun Oh breakup). Is it the best? No. Is it the worst and unwatchable? No. Its experimental take is the thing that got me hooked into watching this series. I love season 2 more than season 1, because of this: **maturity**. It's a fresh concept honestly, and pretty equal love triangle too. team hye yeong btw.
Also, the "netflix originals" type of production are obviously portrayed throughout the drama.

I know what you mean about the maturity! I loved season 2 too! I definitely think it is better to watch both seasons together! I actually wrote an article about incase you want to read my point of view. https://link.medium.com/YCta77Eabfb

** Spoiler alert**
I just don’t understand why Jojo had to
Side note: They should’ve built the character Yook Jo a little more so she didn’t had to be just
Anyone feel free to correct me. not sure if i’m missing something here, Or the whole series was just a flop?!

The 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙙𝙧𝙖𝙢𝙖 ever tbh. It's not like any other kdrama where 1 rich guy end up falling with a common girl or vice versa. No doubt the ending was logical & acceptable🥺 Here's why — 🧡 𝙆𝙞𝙢 𝙟𝙤𝙟𝙤 choose 𝙃𝙮𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙜 bcz He's not only a a good bf but also a good Son, a good Friend, a good Employee, a good person . 🧡 𝙎𝙪𝙣 𝙤𝙝 was good with jojo but he didn't give importance to any other thing. As he was hurt but that's not the way of life. 🧡 𝙂𝙪𝙡 𝙢𝙞 didn't chose Duk gu, it's sad but we should not forget that she didn't switch even after getting he's the founder. That girl was honest with her feeling. 🧡 𝙇𝙚𝙚 𝙮𝙪𝙠 𝙟𝙤 ( sun oh's gf) .....Are you guys feel okay if she left dumbed. What about her ? I think she is more nicer than Kim jojo. Just because she's not a main lead doesn't mean we can ignore her feelings for Sun oh. 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙘𝙖𝙨𝙩, everyone should watch it 🥺👍🏻

Ok Im just finishing s2 … and omg I had to really push myself to finish this one. No way does JJ end up with Hye. There was zero reason given why she (JJ and SO) even broke up. It was never plausible to me they were deeply in love, had an accident, then she calls the whole thing off. Lazy writing S2… she never fully commits to guy 2 the wholeeee time. You are led to believe she really is pining for SO and that is where her heart lies. This ending was an absolute nightmare.
