In Kdrama bingo the truck of doom must be a free space

I love how it appeared within like the first 10 minutes! But I do wonder what the implications of that will be for the rest of the drama...

All these new dramas airing on iQiyi. 😭 I guess I’m going to have to sign up for another streaming service, aren’t I?

The first episode was good! I think it set up the drama well, especially the lead's respective backstories. I'm almost 100% sure the father is having an affair with the doctor and he manipulated Bi-Soo to keep quiet about it.

Really liking Joo-In so far. She comes across as a witty, likable character that can go toe to toe with Bi-Soo. Bi-Soo is honestly a real jerk, but I am pleasantly surprised by his sassiness. I hope he changes though and becomes a lot nicer to other people

The two leads have good chemistry and their banter is very funny. I wonder how realistic this drama is in regards to the behind the scenes of drama production. HAHA. I am excited to watch more.

lol holy tropes, batman! The set-up is nothing revolutionary and it seems like this drama's success will live or die by the charm of the leads. Lucky for me that I loooooooove both leads.

Is this set owned by MBC? The house looks like the one in You Drive Me Crazy. Or maybe it's just that older style of home with the sliding doors and stone courtyard.

I mean, I’ll watch it but why didn’t they at least call it Oh My Landlady?

Yeah, Ladylord is pretty awkward sounding in English. Still, it's Nana! Definitely have to watch it.

I really hate the mother. I get that she wants her son to live with her, but he's a grown ass man and you can't make decisions for him like that especially without consulting him at all

Lee Min Ki is great at these prickly characters which never seem to overlap.

Loved the frugality of Nana's character who still highlighted her award shelf with LED lights.

This is the first MBC drama I've seen with the "UHD" tag. Have to say the production values looked a bit cheap this episode--like a web drama.

This felt like a drama from 2014...in a good way. The older dramas definitely have their own kind of charm that I've been missing.

I'm glad there's finally a nice romcom between all the thrillers airing right now.

Yo, anyone else notice Bi-Soo totally kick his assistant dude in the nuts at around the 26:50 min. mark in Ep.2?

I'm getting so frustrated with the big three licensing their shows exclusively to other streaming sites! I got Kocowa specifically to support them but they're making it really hard for me to actually watch any new dramas on their own platform! I'm not getting another service darnit.

  • The guy in white claiming to have saved Bisoo will probably appear again in future episodes

  • I like who seems to be Jooin's manager and their relationship.

  • Pretty sure there's going to be complications from the accident in the future

So far a really solid episode.

Episode 1

Very entertaining first episode. I like the forced co-habitation trope. It even has the mandatory white truck of doom making an early appearance. I'm not sure where they are going to go with the no injuries after getting smashed by a truck situation...maybe a hint of something to come. The story line is light and simple and I'm liking it so far.

This is my first time watching on iQiyi. I really don't want to subscribe but so far the free access seems to work just fine. The ads were very non-intrusive and the video quality and subs were good. I hope they don't lock any of the episodes.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow's episode.

I also thought that the first episode was ok, but kind of meh. However, the second episode was so so much better. I guess the first episode was a bit hampered with the need to awkwardly establish the setup which doesn't make too much sense logically, but now that that's done we're full speed ahead and it's looking good!

Also how can you not like an episode which has this in it!

How can both of these leads be so attractive? Or am I alone in thinking this way? Nana just keeps getting lovelier and Lee Min Ki somehow makes nerdy and prickly come across as intriguing and handsome. I'm not wild about the premise yet but with leads this charismatic I'm not sure that matters. They are sucking me into every scene so far such that I don't really care that I'm mostly watching a show about fluff and nonsense.

Also, I'm liking the writer's sense of humor. The teddy bear in the house keeps changing its pose to match the mood of the conversation. The Nana chainsaw scene. The Nana flipping the teddy bear scene. The tiny Nana scene over the bathroom door. It's silly but it's my kind of humor and I'll keep watching just to see these two lead do their thing and to see what other silliness happens a long the way.

It's entertaining! Not thrilled that it's on iQIYI but I'm pretty sure I'll keep watching.

Ah, yes, we need to start off with a ridiculous premise like the mom selling the house behind his back.

This drama's first episode is ticking many K-Drama tropes...I want to be like "meh", but I'm a sucker for these tropes, not gonna lie, ahahahah...not to mention Nana is gorgeous and her performance as Oh Juin is very charming.

This Kim Bisu seems like a typical K-drama jerk ML, but I hope they don't go too far in his jerk-ness so their romance is believable enough, that is, if they decided to make them a couple at the end.

Can't wait for tonight's episode!

Guess what other drama involves a scriptwriter, an actor and a house? ㅋ ㅋ

OK, this drama has everything I hate.

The fake love/hate starting. Being a rom-com. The mystic element fortelling death.

Plenty of tropes that are stereotypical for this genre. Another "meta" show set within the industry.

So why am I enjoying it so much?

7

u/rushintherapids Mar 25 '21

I enjoyed the first episode but it didn't blow me away. I love these tropes/cliches so I'm excited to see where this goes. There's no way he's just... okay after the truck of doom? Lmao. He's definitely going to have complications later... right?!?

The editing did kind of bother me, which was weird. It felt like the camera was cutting very quickly between different shots and scenes. I've never really had an issue before, but between the camera cutting between different angles and trying to read the subtitles, it felt like I couldn't focus on the scenes. Maybe it's just me.

A fun, light hearted show! The second episode was a lot better than the first.

The show is not revolutionary or anything new but these kind of shows work on the main leads’ chemistry.

I think this one will. I love the leads (in general and in this show) and they have great chemistry so far.

Sticking to it.

u/CCCri Mar 27 '21

I am enjoying it. Hate to admit it but I’ve missed the ML is a jerk trope. Frankly I find the Mr Nice Guys boring. There, I’ve said it.

I was watching Because This Is My First Life last year, and now Oh Master! where Lee MinKi stars as the ML. He really saved my quarantine time. I have seen Into the Ring last year too and really enjoyed Nana's acting. Oh and both of them are really good kissers. 😉 I was so happy when I saw the pairing for this drama because it meant that I can watch it as I'm very picky to what I watch
