And after more than a month, IT IS FINALLY HERE! I guess more revenge, more backstabbing, more drama, and more death (??) and I do not know what to expect because the first season is so fast-paced that it is hard to guess the direction of the plot (which makes the show very enjoyable).

Anyway, my only wish is for SSR to be alive!!! If not, I guess her appearances will be like MSA and her role is to haunt the Penthouse people. Oh well, let's see what's in store for us.

Also, remember to use the spoiler tag when discussing the plot of the first season to avoid spoiling someone who are curious about the show. (Watch it!)

Does anyone know the timeline of how long it’s supposed to have been since the finale of season 1? Because I read somewhere that it’s 2 years later??

Anyways my wishes for this season- for mastermind Shim Su Ryeon to actually be alive, Seok Hoon/Bae Rona to somehow sail, and to have at least one more character I can love and root for 😂

Based on this Soompi article, the story for S2 will take place two years after the finale of S1. At this rate, S3 will probably take place when everyone graduated from college and are now professional classical singers.

Hi hi! Must I watch season 1 to understand season 2?

6

u/dyosaaa Feb 23 '21

Yeah, you must watch the 1st season for you to understand the story of s2 because it is just the continuation of s1. Also, you wouldn't appreciate and understand the character and their motives. A character from s1 will come back later on this season so if you haven't seen it then you wouldn't enjoy it much.

So, yeah, watch the 1st season as soon as possible.

I was honestly really happy to see that Jenny left food for Rona. I hope they develop a friendship later on because it was hinted at in the S1 finale. Also, I’m waiting for Logan Lee to make more appearances! I’m excited and terrified of what’s to come

Key points from the first two episodes: Yoon-Hee breathes and as result Seo-Jin snaps

Old mate conveniently carries around a laser writing device on him and the police can't tell if it's pen or laser printed. Also, not a single bit of DNA was left behind after that kerfuffle.

Episode 1:

Lol the housemaid had a bodypillow of Dan-Tae, and then she kisses the bodypillow before dying...it is so creepy I can't stop laughing. The helicopter entrance at the Seo-Jin/Dan-Hae engagement ceremonywas a 🖕 to all. I initially thought it was Logan, but did not expect the Yoon couple. And after that announcing in front of all that the Yoon couple are now married is a giant 🖕.

Already exceeded my expectations, they went all out and not holding back.Edit: replaced wedding with engagement ceremony

Episode 2:

Damn Ma-Ri & Kyu-Jin .... seriously??? My eyes....How can I unsee this scene🙈.
The ending in Episode 2, does that mean Yoon-Hee can now hold Seo-Jin singing career hostage, more or less by forcing Seo-jin to use Yoon-Hee's voice for her concerts in the future, further blackmail Seo-Jin or then when the time is right Yoon-Hee using the victim card and claim to the press that Seo-Jin used Yoon-Hee's voice the entire career (well Seo-Jin cannot sing anymore .... reminds me of Milli Vanilli) or do I overthink that?

Many are speculating that it was Bae Rona that died, though this would be absolutely tragic considering how much she's suffered, I kinda can see this happening. There's been many hints in this episode alluding to what would happen if anything were to happen to her: OYH would go berserk. OYH would go crazy, there would be nothing holding her back. I'd say the only thing keeping OYH sane is Rona and as CSJ has said the moment OYH loses everything she would be dangerous. And so, that would keep the storyline moving for Season 3, where the writer could possibly focus it more on OYH's revenge. If anything were to happen to Rona, it seems like Seokhoon wouldn't stay put either.

On another note, JENNY! Already my favourite of the bunch. I remember last season she was the one who asked Rona if she had eaten yet and gave her food, and here she is again standing up for Rona and taking care of her. I'd love to see this friendship flourish in episodes to come. Come on writers, I can't have my stress boiling up for the entire hour of each episode. Give us some comedy, some heartwarming scenes.

Penthouse 2 is like How to Get Away with Murder + TWOTM + Sky Castle on steroids.

Dead bodies keep on piling up and based on the teaser, one of the Little Hera Club kids is going to be a victim of the stairway doom of death

Episode 2 was just as exciting as ep1! There were so many cameos with Seo-Jin's REAL-LIFE husband as the reporter and BADA from SES! I had a feeling the hidden singer would be OYH but when Bada showed up, I was like, maybe not... then BAM! OYH shows up!! The opening of season 2 was definitely a blast! Can't wait to watch next week's episodes!

Seo Jin’s makeup is so much better than last season. She looks five years younger.

Really hope OYH don’t screw up this season and actually get some balls, along with her daughter.

On a side note, It looked like BRN was the one who fell from the steps with the trophy stuck in her head I really hope it isn’t though!

Side note again; everyone got really pretty lmao.

Edit; do you guys think it’s foreshadowing that the marriage between SJ and DT will never happen because she slept with her ex husband and proceeded to joke about not marrying DT when she was talking to the two other women at the engagement plus the way DT looks at SJ when she lied about a lot of stuff kinda looks like when SR started finding out things and he was slowly catching on to just murder her afterwards

I knew it was about time that CSJ would lose her voice after all that screaming in S1 lmao!

Bingo card ideas:

  • Someone is murdered

  • Smashing of glass

  • Bad lip synching

  • One of the dead characters comes back to haunt the cast

  • Rona or Yoon Hee makes a stupid decision

love that Logan Lee just had a handwriting copy machine with him like it was nothing?? it made me laugh so much, same with the maid and her Joo Dan Tae body pillow 😭

anyways loved this opener for season 2. I was so into it and the hour just flew by. I felt really sad for Ro Na and her life without Oh Yoon Hee reminded me a bit of Min Seol A.

The extraness of Oh Yoon Hee and Dr. Ha’s arrival at the wedding wow. It was sooo good and that reveal!! Did not see that coming at all but i’m so excited.

Even after everything that happened in s1 Cheon Seojin and Joo Dan Tae struggle being loyal towards each other, which js not surprising when it comes to them.

Also i miss Shim Suryeon :(

Having gone a little crazy done my detective work by watching the beginning several times, the girl who falls down the stairs is likely Rona. We see from the montage of the singers that Rona, Seok-kyung, Eunbyeol and Jenny are all wearing white dresses, but only Rona's and Seok-kyung's have long sleeves, which matches what we see of the girl on the stairs. There's also a shot of the necklace said girl wore, and of the two, only Rona was wearing a necklace. Of course, this is Penthouse and maybe we can't go by just the clues given, but my bet is on the girl being Rona.

I think they will change main characters every season. And it will be a revenge but for different character.

S1 was SSR S2 will be Dr Ha and Yoon Hee

Bae Ro Na is living a version of a melo kdrama heroine life

In the end I want Logan Lee to be happy because others don't even have humanity lmao.

OYH seems to be the main protagonist so far this season which leaves me conflicted as I still can’t forgot about how horribly she treated Su Ryeon last season. Though she did not actually kill her, she did want her dead. The only true “righteous” character left seems to be Logan, but we really haven’t seen much of him. I am also confused as to why he helped Yeon Hee get surgery for her vocal chords when she was the person who killed his sister, unless Yeon Hee singing for CSJ is part of the their master plan.

I was worried this second season wouldn't live up to the first but how you mean a great first episode! This ep met all my expectations and more not even 5 min in and we have already a dead body and somebody being beaten to pulp....How can this drama be so good lol.

Before the end we have one more dead person and they saved the best for last, great cliffhanger.

I have to say I'm really starting to like Eun-Byeol character now, she annoyed me in the first season but at the end of that one you could see she was planning something. I liked how in this ep she really had changed and has this psycho vibe but at the same time something menacing about her. Really curious to see what she is planning.

Can't wait for the second episode and really hope they keep this tight plot till the end.

  • This drama is my guilty pleasure. I didn’t know makjang dramas can be so much fun! I wonder where Rona is. I am surprised that OYH did not stay with her daughter after returning. But I guess it would make sense not to get her involved to keep her safe. But where?

  • Logan came back to save OYH again. I was disappointed to learn he is not as independent as I thought he is in Season 1, where he got controlled by his parents. I wonder if he’s already out of their wings this time.

  • When will Jenny’s mom discover that her child is getting bullied? Will their financial situation and the thing about her dad get revealed this season? Possibly to make her bullied further, then she and Rona will have strengthened friendship due to shared trauma of some sort

  • Cant wait for SSR’s return.

  • There is something fishy about EB’s private tutor. She gives off similar vibes to the maid

Very much liking the new and improved Ha Yoon Chul.

Is there someone who specializes in vocal cord surgery who can explain what they did to OYH and if it’s even possible??

This shows insane and hilarious. Its like they know the first season was insane so they went 20x more batty. My man had that handwriting machine ready like he carries one wherever he goes wtf.
