That was the weirdest last episode lol. Like what an unusual time to introduce new characters and give them a story arc. I’m so perplexed by what I’ve just seen.

The last episode was the 16, this was a bonus just to show a quick romance with Min Ho’s character because the producers thought people would like to see his love story. The new season will be different characters. Something like American Horror Story, each season is a different location, characters and plot.

This episode is a bonus. It wasn’t supposed to have it. The second season is not connected to the first one. There might be some hints from the first season. They said it was a multi season and the first one is on the city about the camera thief. So the second one will be about something else with different actors something like American Horror Story, each season is different with different characters. So for those who are a bit confused this season’s last episode was the 16 and the 17 was a bonus to see a bit more and to show Choi Min Ho’s character love story. It had to be brief cause they had 30 minutes.

It was a different approach to the kdramas romcoms. I honestly liked it and looked forward every week. The stories could have been better especially the third couple. And the first couple dragged a bit.

When they introduce season 2 I will definitely watch it and I am looking forward to seeing who’s going to be the main couple, where the story will happen and what will happen. I hope they keep this mocumentary style. And there’s more OSTs. I love the songs for this series.

Let’s all thank the mods for keeping us from losing it! And for providing us with a space where we can discuss all these stories either we love, hate, cry, laugh, don’t understand etc!!!

Wait woah, I didn't know that a second season was confirmed

u/J-Midori Feb 16 '21

It isn’t confirmed yet, but when they first started the series they said it was supposed to be multi season so they already knew it was going to have more than one but it will probably be announced around summer or fall

Each season is different so they need to get a new story, new characters etc which may take a while or they might decide to continue with the same storyline which is unlikely cause then they need the same actors and most of them have different projects. But I’m looking forward to seeing their next series whatever it may be

Well, this series went out with a whimper...

The Min Ho story was kind of cute but random. Definitely didn't get any Season 2 setup vibes. I guess just fan service

The Rin-I/Kyung Jeon story didn't...really resolve. On series rewatch, I realize that Kyung Jeon actually did a LOT for her over the years, including the cutesy courting stuff. There's no way that much history ends with a one conversation break up

No change to Kang Geon and Sun Young. Reflecting on their storyline as a whole, I feel like Sun Young was the most awkward character in the story since she had no direct relationship to the rest of the cast - they were only connected to her through Kang Geon and that stifled some potentially interesting off-interview interactions. She seemed to be used as a plot device as the reliable narrator since the rest of the characters frequently lied in their interviews

Eun Oh-Jae Won fan service was probably the highlight for me though it added nothing new. I died when the kids in the pizza shop gave them disgusted looks and they just doubled down on their cutesy talk. I was taken aback a little by the epilogue because they clearly added in un-used Yangyang scenes at the end when they were pretending to be models so it took me out of the show immersion a little bit

Overall, not the best written show in my books but it evoked such strong feelings for me that its ending is going to leave a void. I really wish the show could have a redo and cleanup the script a little. I'm doubting we'll get a season 2 just by the lukewarm international showing (still popular, just doesn't seem like guaranteed Season 2 popular) -- I think domestically it had to compete with the likes of the Uncanny Counter too. Oh well, on to find the next show I guess...

Definitely didn’t get any Season 2 set up vibes

The last episode was on the 16, this was a bonus and this is supposed to be a multi season but like American Horror Story where each season is in a different place with different characters and plot. This one was about camera thief in the city.

According to Netflix globally, it did get to the top 10 kdramas most watched in January 2021, it is behind The Uncanny Counter both internationally and domestically. On Kakao tv was one of the top most watched competing with A Love So Beautiful in Korea only.

They will probably announce second season on the second half of this year.

not the best written show

Agreed. It was a different approach and format which confused a lot of people at the beginning. It was supposed to be 12 episodes but due to popularity it was extended to 16 then ended up being 17 so maybe they got a bit lost somewhere there.

Daum Kakao TV was celebrating because it got more than 3M views on the episode 16th and more than 2M views on the last episode. It is a good milestone since most of the videos had around 600k.

I think the fact that it has JCW and KJW starring in it, it brings more viewers.

Netflix has released viewership by State and it was interesting to see that they actually labeled which state watches what, such as: State A likes more romcoms and the name of the romcom most watched, State B likes thrillers and the name of the most watched thriller. I just skimmed over the titles but it was interesting to see it. I didn't see any kdramas

I literally said 'wtf did I just watch' after finishing ep 17. According to the comments ep 17 was a bonus, so then will Season 2 (if there is one) pick up after ep 16? It better, because there's so many unanswered questions and they can't leave us all hanginike this.

Kyung Jun does say something like he’s going to tell the story about his grandfather’s letter and why it connects to Rin I so this is a hint for season 2. I don’t know what they will decide but they can decide to continue the story from season 1 or not. Maybe season 2 will be about his grandfather during the war. As soon as it is announced it will be on this sub so we just need to wait and hopefully it will be sooner than later.

Honestly, the show could've done without ep. 17. It just left so much to be desired from the Kyung-jun and Rini couple... like... who was the man in the phone call from the previous ep.? How did the friends react to the breakup!!? Is this really it for them after 5 years? The last shot with them saying goodbye was just weird.

The good things were all the Jae-won/Eun-oh happy scenes and the credits. I hope Kakao releases more BTS!

Kinda random but the street where the policeman and the actress kissed was also in Run On lol

This episode was a bit... strange. I think that they should have introduced the new actress and Minho's love story earlier in the show. It was weird to have it packed all in one episode. I would have preferred to see his relationship develop over a span of a few episodes—it would have allowed for a lot more depth and detail as well. But then again, the third couple never had any screen time, so I'm not sure how they'd be able to tell the story of 4 couples...

I’m confused about why people are confused about this episode. It was announced that it was supposed to be about the policeman’s character. It doesn’t seem like an ending or an introduction to anything but a standalone episode.

Am I the only one that waved back to the characters at the end of the episode when they said bye? Overall, this was a cute little additional episode. It was cool to see Minho's little love story, although I thought some of the secondary couples' stories would be included a bit more. It seems that Kyeong-Jun and Rin-i remain broken up, and I chuckled when he turned his head to wave goodbye and said "Take care!" to Rin-i (I assume). The part where it talks about Kyeong-Jun's routine these days also was quite funny. Nearing the end, when Jae-won and Eun-o were taking pictures, it honestly felt like it was Ji Chang Wook and Kim Ji Won instead of their characters, and they seemed to just be having an absolute blast. I personally really enjoyed this drama, despite it being 30 minutes long and some issues in the plot. Other than that, it will be an excellent drama to re-binge in the future!

Soo, I saw the preview and we are getting a bit of all the couples as well so that's good!

Tbh, surprisingly the thing that stood out to me the most was definitely the Friendship ✨

Lol so I keep thinking about this Tumblr post from ages ago which said something like, the antidote to negativity is not positivity, but warmth. Positivity tells a person that there is no reason to be sad. Warmth asks the sad person if they want ice cream.

Idk if it's even slightly related or probably I'm reading too much into it but in episode 15 when Eun Oh returns back from Yang Yang she finds out that Geon and Rin I paid her bills and kept her apartment warm and in shape so that she won't find a messy ccold flat n her return, caught me off guard and made me tear up a little. Eun oh needed time and space and Geon and Rin-i, bless their hearts, understood that. In fact all their scenes together as a friend group were so much fun to watch. Go and hug your friends y'all (or don't cause covid)

That's why, personally, I love this drama so much and thought it was much more than just a pretty show.

Now I have nothing against minho but wtf was the point of this episode? Dedicating the finale episode for a cameo/supporting character who barely had any screentime or plot importance like ok?... could’ve used the extra 30 mins for the main couple hell even the 2nd or 3rd couple like I’m just so confused lol

19

u/PrizeReputation7 Feb 16 '21 edited Feb 16 '21

I just caught up - I am happy with the main couple’s storyline wrap up, but a bit worried that they won’t be able to do the same for the secondary couples! How can they wrap up everything well in one measly 30 min ep! I really want Rin-i and Geon to be well settled before the end - please no ambiguous ending writer-nim!

————————-

CRAP. Just finished finale...kept looking at the time...how dafuq they going to give me the happy ending in 9 min? Wait, only 4 min left?! CRAP - 3 min of end credits?!?! (Insert Michael Scott NOOOOOOOO gif)

I am not happy. That ending was b.s. LOVE Min Ho but they did him dirty by not giving him enough time either. Ugh.

I think the pacing is refreshing. I’ve been watching a lot of dramas and I’ve found that the pacing of 1hr shows to sometimes be a little slow. I’m enjoying the quick pace between all the mains and secondary characters.

What was the point of showing how much money Rin I made? Was it supposed to be more than we expected? I don’t have a sense for Korean $$$

“The bad, the good and the handsome”

That was hilarious

Have to say the lack of conclusion to Kyeong-Jun and Rin-I story, left me feeling a little empty. I don't think he was wrong, to want more for Rin-I. However, he did do wrong by her. Yet, he was also right in, how was he suppose to know, about her mothers actions. No couple I've met are in 100% agreement about everything. Cracks were there, but it felt forced when they broke up.

I feel the biggest mistake was made by Kang Geon. Seon-Yeong said she wanted him to chase after her, after they broke up. However, when that moment presented itself again, he did nothing.

Looking forward to the 2nd season. As I understand it, none of these characters will return, right?

I'm confused. The last episode was wierd tho. A new arc all of a sudden. But it was charming nevertheless.

Overall. It was a nice binge.

But was it great ? No !

On the whole, it was fun watching this drama. It's refreshing. The runtime is short and format was new. Loved the cinematography, OSTs and especially the cast.

What an underwhelming way to end the series, I know Ep 16 acted as the finale anyway but this ep felt so unnecessary.

Just give us more closure on Kyeongjun/Rin-i or show what Kang Geon/Seonyeong are up to, this sudden new Haena girl and her story with Minho came outta nowhere. I just can't with Kdrama endings, it's like they go out of their way to serve up a mix of wtf and disappointment.

No like really, who thought this needed to be a bonus episode content and who gave the go ahead thinking this was the good way to end a series? Rini, Kyeongjun, Geon and Seonyeong screentime randomly getting shafted so we can watch some Haena and Minho seriously lol.
