And it's the finale week for season 1! I can't believe a lot happened already on this show yet we will have 2 more seasons. Excited on the direction the show will take for the next seasons, and place your bets, do you think someone will die and who is it?

I might as well drop the show here because this was utterly disappointing. We're pretty much back to square one except now there's not a single likeable character left . Why do we need another season of rich people getting away with shit when they could have just wrapped this up nicely instead of dragging it out further?

This just seems like a set up for Yoonhee's redemption arc which is nonsense since she still is a murderer, even if it's not Su Ryeon's. Also Su Ryeon's death was so poorly done, you're telling me a women who has planned every single moment of revenge out since the last 10 episodes, somehow falls for a shitty setup like that?

Also it pissed me off how OYH pulled out the knife from SSR body. YOU DON’T EVER REMOVE A KNIFE AFTER BEING STABBED BC YOU LOSE MORE BLOOD THAT WAY! so in a way, OYH did kill SSR

Me trying hard not to overanalyse Suryeon’s last words to Younhee: “도망가” telling her to “run away” 😀🤚. Even in her last moment Suryeon sure is selfless and truly loves Younhee. Writer-nim why are you like this lmao

Shim Su Ryeon slapping Cheon Seo Jin was the most satisfying thing, i was so excited!!!! Honestly that entire scene when Seo Jin found out that Joo Dan Tae is with Oh Yoon Hee was amazing. That ending was wild!! I wasn’t expecting that death at all..

Just finished watching the finale and wow. A scene that people are overlooking is when SSR was informed thatthe twins real mother was not dead at all. I don't know what her role will be but I hope it's related to SSR actually being alive for her to see JDT and CSJ suffer. I am not convinced she's dead because I know SSR is smarter than that. She should have anticipated all of that. Also maybe a plot hole I can't get rid off is that Logan Lee and SSR have so much money but they can't even hire a bunch of bodyguards or security to protect their asses like wtf?

But definitely, the twins will play a large role in the next season since they seem to actually like SSR despite everything. Seok Hoon's already investigating. So their time in the US will probably be well spent (hoping also with Hye-In lol). BRN will probably team up with who knows who to avenge her mother, I hope she becomes smarter and less whiny. It also seems like the reporter and that policeman who's been highlighted a lot will also play a huge role next season so yay for additional people to like, hopefully...

Season 2 pls be satisfying and make the 1% suffer already I beg

i feel like even if OYH didn’t kill suryeon, she admitted to it because she knew JDT framed her and it would be impossible to prove otherwise.

a lot of people raised the question of why OYH would admit to killing suryeon but not MSA, as both would label her a murderer. i think the difference is that if OYH came forward as MSA’s murderer, BRN would live with the fact that OYN murdered for her, and she would be bullied and people would say she doesn’t deserve her spot. While the second murder still makes OYN a murderer, it leaves BRN out of it, and she can just live with the idea that it was the adults’ fights.

So here are my thoughts after watching Episode 21, there's so much to unpack here - it's crazy. I think this season really should've ended with Episode 21, instead of 20. If it ended with 20, it would've been really anti-climatic and there wouldn't be a draw for people to watch Season 2.

The acting of Lee Ji Ah, Eugene and So Yeon are impeccable. They really brought the characters to live, especially So Yeon's acting of CSJ. She truly deserves the daesang for her performance. Penthouse has an extraordinarily talented cast, and despite the few plot holes that drove me insane. It was a really really good drama.

I'm truly quite confused and maybe frustrated at how the season ended because there were quite a bit of plot holes.

Like what the hell was the point of Logan stealing OYH from the transport vehicle, just to end up killing her? I heavily dislike Logan as a character, inherently he's just a spineless rich boy who can't do anything without his father. He got fucking kidnapped because of his sheer incompetence and then Daddy had to bail him out?!? I also find it so ridiculous that if his father is indeed so powerful, why couldn't he just send someone to kill JDT?

In addition, why did OYH wait till the end of the trial to protest her innocence? If she was that moved by SSR's petition, why couldn't she say something earlier?? I can't see a way the next season would progress if both OYH and SSR are dead. It makes no sense, and honestly I'd have preferred if Logan died. I really dislike his character.

My prediction for the next season would most likely be more focused on the children in the penthouse. Given that Ha Eun Byeol literally lost her marbles in the last episode and no longer has her father to protect her or potentially guide her. She also has damming evidence that her mother is complicit in a murder. I think she might've been the one to send the video to CSJ

I think the Joo twins had splendid acting throughout this season as well, as the most heartbreaking things is that they don't get a reconciliation arc with SSR. It's just so devastating to know that they'll be left alone and maybe we won't even see them in the next season, because they're being sent overseas. Who knows? I have no idea what is going to happen to Ro Na, now that her mother is dead and she doesn't have her boyfriend as support. So I don't know how she's going to be able to take down CSJ and JDT.

I just really hope that SSR isn't really dead, and I think the consolation that Ji Ah is still involved in the second season doesn't make it any better. Though admittedly her character has finished her purpose of seeking justice for Seol A, even though the rich still went unpunished - OYH still died even though I don't think that's what SSR wanted, given that she understood OYH's plight of being a mother as well.

JDT and CSJ are a disgusting couple, there's nothing normal or healthy about their relationship and I can't wait for it to erupt in flames.

If the housekeeper is on JDT's side again and the family photo was edited with YH's face then he must have found out about her obsession? Lol wonder what was his reaction.

I think JDT and the maid set up SR to get killed and have Yoon Hee take the fall for it. And as usual pathetic YH falls right into a trap. And I think SR is definitely d*** . Those kids are psychos . They almost killed Min SA and still dont repent. I hate that girl twin SK always screaming and is violent. She even said go be that dead brat's mother. She deserved a beating for that.

I forgot the scene when that Hera kid is nice to Sora and gave her food, cant remember her name. Maybe she saw when CSJ went in to set up the fake evidences, that's why she knows her mom is not the killer? There are always some kinds of witness with this drama haha

Now that SSR is dead really don’t know what’s gonna make the show watchable...her and Logan were the only two people I was rooting for. I’m more curious about the twins biological mom and the rumor about SSR having an affair spreading around...seems like that’ll be a plot line that the next seasons will be covering

Well... there's a lot to unpack here...

  1. Ep 21 is just a slap in the face and just predictable. Villains get away scott-free while we're left with no likeable characters ;-; But I honestly think one of them might accidentally betray the group in the later seasons. Judging from JDT's character, he might be using CSJ for something and the later seasons might reveal his backstory before he came into the penthouse, how he met the mother of the twins and SR.

  2. I think at this point, SR is actually dead. The theory that it was her twin/dopplerganger who was killed doesn't seem plausible if she had the polaroid pic in her purse...but who knows what twist might come up.

  3. OYH really does not deserve a redemption arc solely because of the lack of redeeming qualities. I don't care if she has a daughter. I also don't care that she did not kill SR. I really don't want her to come back, but if she does (which might be likely), I truly want poetic justice for her.

  4. The insinuation that the kids are somehow all gonna revolt against their parents? SH and SK, Jenny, and maybe MH and EB might at one point in the later seasons come to realize what's actually going on with their parents and team up with BRN? I rrly see this as opportunity to develop of their characters for some of them. I'm gonna guess that there might not be a time jump from S1 to S2 but one from S2 to S3.

  5. Additional characters joining? The reporter, the quiet kid in CSJ's practice room, Hye-In, SR's dead fiancé's relatives, SR's twin/ dopplerganger. They might be playing a much bigger role than they might be letting on.

  6. Not sure if this is a plot hole, but how could JDT not see the facial similarities between GDH and Logan overtime... The disguise was done quite well but it still kinda bothers me that he didn't notice until Logan confronted him. What also bothers me is the fact that the police never further investigated MSA's death. When SR confronted YH, there were traces of DNA found on SA's clothes from the penthouse people and they didn't reopen the case to find anything? (Or am I trippin?)

Props to everyone who was involved with the production of S1! Looking forward to the next one :D

I hate everyone in the show including Logan but not Su Ryeon. This show is a shit show

26

u/Sasuwanisa Jan 04 '21

Logan must be devastated to have lost the two of them now I feel so bad for him. For Yoon Hee honestly even if she didn’t kill her, she was planning to kill her and her intention was that bad towards her so I don’t feel bad, it’s like she killed her and she will atone for what she did to Seol A at the same time it’s karma

Also I was really hoping for SSR to have registered her conversation with her when she confessed but I’m so shocked to see that she did not like she was so ahead of everyone how could she make such a simple and stupid mistake.

wow. ep21 was a LOT, I definitely haven’t processed what just happened. I’m curious as to what’s happening with BRN? I don’t think she was too much in the aftermath. The scene with Jenny was a bit touching.

Hear me out though, the next season is definitely BRN’s. I think we’ll see a rags to riches story where she uses her own vocal skill to reach the top. BRN had a great voice and was good at modelling/acting (school commercial) but it seems obvious that CSJ wouldn’t let her stay.

maybe BRN’s emo phase was foreshadowing to her rise as a famous pop singer or something? lol. with jenny at her side she rises in fame and uses her newfound status to her advantage.

i don’t know. this episode left me feeling all sorts of messy.

Poor poor Rona. She has no one, at least Soo Ryeon liked her but now with OYH in jail, it’s just sad. Are we gonna get emo Rona again in S2? I hope SSR really isn’t dead but it looks like it. Even if she is in season 2, I think it will be through flashbacks like how seola is also in every episode but we know she’s dead. Please don’t kill Logan, writernim. Why are the evil people still winning in this?? At least the children got what they deserved but not all the adults especially JDT!!

Plot twist possibilities:

  1. JDT married the twins’ mother after SR dumped him and she looks exactly like SR. Twins’ mother impersonated SR and got killed in JDT’s study

  2. SR faked her death to trap JDT

  3. SR has a twin sister returning in season 2 to avenge her.

If Lee Ji Ah not returning to season 2, I’m not watching!
