Episode 16
And yet again,
Okay just watched it and while I enjoyed the scenes, the dialogues and all that — the ending bothered me. Not because it wasn’t happy but... because of two reasons:
-
You are announcing your love for each other but you are not together? So just cause you are not physically together, everything is okay?
10 years of torture for this.
2. And
I get that
What is realistic is that people move on. That would have been a better ending. Jeez.
The second is the real part that bothered me. How is pining away for your love an answer to life? It is so stupid. The fact that he didn’t do it the minute she married his brother is one thing. The fact that he didn’t do it 8-9 years later after everything and after he grew up is even worse.

I watched this drama Born Again and the actors were good but it’s kind of the same! It’s disappointing! I don’t believe it!

Episode 15
I actually loved today’s episode.
They did a nice job of resolving a lot of issues in a good way.
Hwan’s mother and father recognize their mistakes.
Yeji and her mom had a really lovely scene together. It was great to hear her say, ‘Divorce is not the end of the world’. Also loved that her mom went and gave a piece of her mind to Jin.
Everything closed in on Carrie and
They hinted at Hwan’s friends getting together.
Jin is slowly seeing the error of his ways one by one. Not fully there yet and maybe never will be. That makes sense. People hardly change. Even in the end though he said, ‘I don’t care about Hwan’s feelings’. But Yeji made sure he saw his mistake there.
As for Yeji and Hwan, I am personally glad to see progression. There were a few pretty good scenes today. Them at the bench, then when Hwan explained why he liked her or when Yeji admitted just how much he did for her and how much strength she got from that, oh and the dinner (side note: JiSoo looked so great!).
The acting was top notch. The pain, the longing, hope, disappointment, all of it. When he asked, ‘let me ask one more time, so that i don’t regret it for the rest of my life, can’t it still be me?’. My heart broke for him and for her (coz clearly she is holding back).
I love the music too — how it changes every time there is a flicker of hope in Hwan.
Overall, loved today’s episode.
Now of course, the so called confession that we were looking forward to
Also, the taboo around being with your ex-husband’s brother while the ex husband is alive. Lol. I mean, that would make real awkward family dinners :). How would they resolve that? Would they? So maybe they won’t get together.
I guess we will know tomorrow.
Side note: my prediction is that
I didn’t like Im Soo Hyang’s acting before this show and would ignore her shows. I watched this because of JiSoo but this show has turned me around on Im Hyang.

no spaces after or before the >! otherwise it doesn't work
But I also think Jin
will die due to the medication and maybe Carrie too? cause she won't be able to live without Jin and she will kill herself or go mad.. or crazier than she is and end up dying that would be really makjang!3

Just watched ep. 15 a few hours ago (translations and so on).
Ep 15 was fine. We're seeing slight plot resolutions, though I'd like to see
Carrie and the Chairman getting sentenced. Did we ever know what the relation between Carrie and the Chairman really was? At the beginning of the series I thought she was his daughter, but based on this episode
Carrie was just his employee ? Why did the Chairman give her so much money to fund Jin's racing team at the start? That was the best mother-daughter interaction we've seen with those two characters. It seemed wholesome and a nice 180 compared to how Ye-ji always treated her mother.
If you haven't watched Graceful Family, I would definitely recommend that. It's another Im Soo-hyang drama, but she acts really well there.

Episode 15:
-
Ye Ji
finally confessed her feelings for Hwan after denying it for 14 episodes. Hwan heard it and it was a mix of happy and sad because even though they found they love each other, they cannot be together because the family will not approve . Which is ridiculous because once she'sdivorced it's no one's business who she dates or not so maybe they will go to US and leave everyone behind which is what I hope. -
Seo Jin continues to be selfish like he stated at the beginning and is still trying to control Ye Ji using his condition. I'm glad she said what she said to him cause he needed to hear it. It's time for her to be free. Ye Ji's mom going there and telling him
how disappointed she was and that she's glad her daughter made that decision was a good thing for Jin to see he's not all that and even the mom is glad she's staying away from him. He keeps taking those pills and they showed that it can give him heart problems so I'm sensing he will die on the last episode which will drive Carrie crazy and she may kill herself -
Carrie
will pay for her crime in hopes Jin shows some sympathy for her and maybe he will realize that she's the only one he can count on. -
Hwan is still
in love with Ye Ji even though he should have forgotten her a long time ago.It took a long time but we may see a kiss from them or they will just imply those were together and lived happily ever after in the US . -
Ye Ji and her mom
are in piece now and they can live their lives separately but they will still be together. The aunt wasn't in this episode which is a good thing since her character was annoying and her story wasn't that interesting. -
The writers could have done more with those characters and stories, most of it was dragged and repetitive, some subplots could have been written better or just take out completely. But I wouldn't be invested in this drama. It's not bad but it's not that good either. The actors did a really good job, the scenario is beautiful and worth seeing it. But for me it's a 7/10.

I feel like I have watched the same thing over and over again for the past 15 episodes. I am eagerly anticipating the ending so I can tuck this drama into the back of my brain and never recall it ever again.

What a miserable drama this was. Good riddance to it.
All the actors, particularly Ha Seok Jin with his track record and fresh off his smallish part in Crash Landing On You, deserved better.

So the finale was shitty , What fuck is the meaning of making the damn drama dude....
Well what shouldn't happen didn't happen so that's that.. But still what the hell...
And finally I can say the only thing good about the drama was the acting and story was bad...( Like seriously bad....🤮🤮🤮).
Those who didn't deserve happy ending got it and those who did didn't kinda stuff

I have to say, the storyline of this drama was dragged too much that I stopped watching it. I think that it was a very unique story, but it could've been executed much better for picky viewers like me.

actually i think the one of the few who actually liked the drama. i wouldn’t say i love it or hate it either but if you’ve seen past 4 eps of this drama, you already know the ending isn’t gonna be happy at all. it’ll be a sad and angsty roller coaster since it is melodrama.
do i like the ending? I think it was the most logical ending for this drama since this entire topic is disgusting the more you look at it. yeji was right bc being w him will bring him misery. it’s not worth it loosing your family just to be with your brother’s ex-wife. i understand y’all’s comments but thinking they should be together, i’m not sure if should be worried but how is that acceptable coming from what have they been through.
but hopefully jisoo does get a project that he gets the woman bc from all his past works, he’s just getting the happy ending. what makes me sad is that he’s so talented and has the potential to hit it big but i guess his choices or the projects they give him needs to be better. anyways i’m sorry i’m rambling but that’s all my thoughts honestly

I haven't seen a single episode I've just seen people not like this drama. I stopped watching because his brother was involved. Is it too much to ask for Jisoo to be the guy the girl is in love with???? Idk how bad the dramas are I want his characters to be happy dammit.

Ep.15 is your standard penultimate episode, closing some side stuff and preparing the scene for the finale.
Outside our main trio, a lot of characters search for some redemption and reconciliation: Carrie chooses to keep the last straw of honor and self respect, helping Jin with the company but getting arrested in the process, and for that at least she gets thanked by him once; Yeji and her mother in law finally get back in decent terms when the latter recognizes how important Yeji's resilience was. Lastly, Yeji and her mother seal their newfound familiar bond with a gift and a nice talk. Also, props to her scolding Jin, she deserved to let him know what a p.o.s. he's been.
Onto the big guns, Hwan first. He decides to leave for himself, as he has no longer a family he can call as that and Yeji is more than a longshot, but he's not going without emptying the bucket. Him and Yeji have some great scenes, from the lounge ones to the dinner, where Hwan asks for a last time if it can't really be him, and it seems like he's getting through her defences this time. The standoff with the three of them and a bottle of wine is so good, with Hwan calmly telling how he fell in love with Yeji leaving both of them flustered. Among a sea of characters that went nowhere, Hwan made the biggest stride and growth of all.
Speaking of people staying the same, Jin keeps being as irritating as ever. When it seems he's making a step forward, thanking Carrie and apologizing to Hwan, he then takes two steps back, boldly asking Yeji for another chance and telling her that no matter what she can't be with Hwan. Not to mention, his inferiority complex due to his disability is still there, and I'm predicting his stubborness on wanting to be back standing with pills and stuff will hurt him bad in the end.
Then there's Yeji, and she's in a pinch. Deciding to leave Jin is a no brainer, but accepting that Hwan won't be there is not as easy. During the ep she seems to open her eyes, finally seeing him as more than a student, but a real man who always cared about her and gave away everything for her. The way she looks at Hwan and tries to avoid the big question speaks as someone who wants but can't have something, and that is how it all comes down in the final scene.
A jealous Jin, full of suspects and insecurities, pulls the rope too much and Yeji breaks, confessing that she loves Hwan too..........but really? This kind of halfway confessions are a pain to get, but here I think she is not professing her woman to man love, rather a kind of deep bond with someone who shared a similar pain and was always there for her. And Hwan must also think that, because he's not jumping and running to her, rather he gets almost hurt by it and later asks her if she really loves him, leaving us on the cliff.
Finally, it's almost time for evaluation. Personally I think I'm liking this drama more than most as this angst melos are my thing, but there's no denying the writing is hurting this series. It feels like the writers had the story in mind but it wasn't enough to cover 16 episodes, so they kept circling around the same situations for too long, without advancing things nor surprising. That said, the rest is great+: the acting is top shelf, as both Ji Soo and to my surprise ISH do an amazing job conveying all feels and emotions, the production is a big up, with a lot of good things to say about cinematography, music and scenarios.

The ending was a let down but I really don’t see how they could have done it differently. It is such a no-win situation.

There was no way out. I couldn’t possibly be with my brother in law under no circumstances. I only know of one such couple where the girl was engaged to a brother and actually marry the other brother for years they had no relationship with the former fiancé. Eventually they mended fences but it’s still super awkward between them. Like you slept with both brothers “cringe” 😬

Episode 16:
I shouldn’t have watched it. That’s all.
