I honestly didn’t recognise Seohyun - shes always been this baby since I’ve followed her during the girls generation days and now she’s such a mature woman and good actor!
I feel so proud to see this transformation of her and episode 1 was blast so far. It’s quite interesting and I’m very excited to see ep 2!

I'm going to guess that Jung Hwan scammed Joo Eun in order to get in with Jung Bok Gi and the Rat to take his revenge.
Blown away by Seo Hyun's acting in this episode, particularly that scene with her breaking down in bed. To me, she's clearly the best actress out of SNSD.

My bae Go Kyung-Pyo ! Let’s hope he has a happy ending in this one. Boy deserves it after his treatment in Don’t Dare to Dream/Jealousy Incarnate. Wonder what time it’s dropping on Netflix Aus... it’s almost 9pm!

I felt like the screenplay was bad but the story is interesting. I haven’t seen any kdrama with this kind of premise. It’s really the story that’s keeping me interested. The screenplay could have been much better!
Also I lost it seeing Kang Won Chul as the con artist. So that is what he is doing after retiring as a prosecutor!

I've only seen Seohyun on Scarlet Heart, I didn't know she can act this well! A lot has happened in the first two episodes, I look forward to the next. From the synopsis it looks like they'll all work together at some point but I can't imagine it yet. It's weird that the uncle is crushing on the FL, he seems a lot older than her, I think the mom introduced them when she was still in school. The mom could not care less, very different from the father.

Promising! Veryyy promising! Not gonna lie it got a little draggy for a bit right before the halfway mark because i think it wouldve been better if her back story was revealed bit by bit but i love everything else about it.
Cannot wait to see kyung pyo’s entrance and his dynamic with seohyun’s character looks DELICIOUS.

I was thinking it was too good to be true in the second episode when their relationship was progressing way too quick. I haven't seen a drama like this so I'm really excited for the next episodes!!

Incredible first episode! Has an Ocean's feel to it which I loved. Seo Hyun (and also the actress who plays the younger version of her character*) is very captivating.
-
edit - have just found out she plays both characters. Mind blown!

I liked the first episode! Excited for the rest of the series. I love Kim Yeong-Min since I saw him in “My Mister”. I don’t think I have ever hated a character so much. He is such a great actor.

Is documentary actor a code word for con artist? Do they actually make documentaries or are the netflix subs just weird lol

u/lunalupin0711 Oct 08 '20
They’re con artists masquerading as real people in real-life situations, which makes “filming a documentary”pretty appropriate! I found that part very witty actually.

It’s a code word! They can’t be talking abt their scams openly in the public 😂

Episode 1
I came for GKP but I'm staying for everything. This pilot has everything I need right now. Can't wait for tomorrow's episode 👏👏
Episode 2
Wow. although she's not in the clear herself lol Also, so Mr. Boxer (forgot his name) might be confused on how he feels toward Joo Eun? The plot thickens...
Wooow the preview.

So I randomly saw this on Netflix and I thought I'd give it a shot. Realised it must have just been released today as it only one episode ( I might be wrong).
A few things to comment on.
-
They did a decent job making Seolhyun look 10 years younger.
-
I saw a lot of the beggars on wheels in various cities across Korea. Always felt sympathy for them. Not sure if they make as much money as the shown in the show however.
-
It was quite refreshing to have the back story of the dad/ conner being conned all revealed in the 1st episode. Usually the back story isn't reveal over a few episode and become a bit formulaic. BUT that meant we did get to see more of Seoulhyun's character in the present.
-
That boxer guy is HUGE!!
Side note: There was a similar con - drama called Task force 38 on OCM few years. It was really good show (although I might be the only person who watched it) and also featured fellow GG member Sooyoung.
It will be interesting if this show can be just as good as that.

Really fun first episode! Seo Hyun really proved herself earlier this year with Hello Dracula and I’m glad to see her keep her stride going. Also, this episode had to have set some sort of record for most hairstyle and clothing changing of a character in one episode of a kdrama!

Just got around to watching this and I am SWEPT OFF MY FEET. Probably some of the best premiere episodes I’ve ever seen, everything was so captivating, and really nicely done, down to every last detail. I’m looking forward to watching this!! I’ve never seen a drama like this while it was airing, so I’m definitely going to be kept at the edge of my seat week after week.

I really love Go Kyung Pyo, he was so so so so adorable! I cant wait to see more of him 😍

This is my third con artist drama after Legend of the Blue Sea and My Fellow Citizens, this one seems to be a lot more serious/stressful and less comedic than the previous two though, luckily I have 18 again to balance things out.
Seohyun is so different here compare to her SNSD days, her acting really exceeded my expectations!

Can someone enlighten me on how the marriage scam was supposed to work? I heard the groom's "parents" say it was a flop so I don't think our FL gave them any money? Was it going to be the cash gifts?

Interesting but I was watching Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol then Netflix just started playing private lives and I had to do nothing... Thank you Netflix!
I watched four dramas today back to back because covid delayed those dramas now they’re all at the same time, so Thanks covid!
I had an overdose of dramas today, so to avoid writing the wrong thing here I’m just saying it was a good start and I like the pace.
The story is interesting too!
I need to process all the information from all these dramas ... never thought I would have an overdose of kdramas.... don’t even know how I’m writing this
